Service & Food was Excellent
Great Mexican restaurant. Friendly, knowledgeable server. Woman singing with guitar, bossa nova style, was wonderful. Delicious tapas! Also, the Casamigos' Tequila, yum.
So happy I picked this place for our delicious and peaceful Easter brunch. It was so relaxed and calm. My family of 5 sat at a round table so it was easy to talk and just chill. Steak sandwich was amazing and guac was soooo good. Wish this place was near where I live.
The waitress did an exceptional job managing my order to comply with my diet needs👍🏻
Lunch with friends was very enjoyable. Menu is quite extensive and it was hard to make a choice. I got the roasted veggie salad and it was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and gave us excellent service. Have been coming to Cava for years and its quality has held up.
Restaraunt was closed without warning. Call after making reservation to insure they are open
We had a very enjoyable meal here, in a warm and cozy atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the ceviche and calamari appetizers and specialty cocktails. The main courses were also delicious. Service is top notch.
Food was fine but people who are averse to cilantro beware- there is literally nothing on their menu that doesn’t have cilantro. I had to have a Caesar salad and a shrimp quesadilla which was very average.
Always enjoy Cava, food is great, service is wonderful and the atmosphere is comfortable yet appropriate for business or pleasure--Highly recommend
Just really really good ! We have NEVER been disappointed there.
The food is good ! The reservation time always spot on they never keep us waiting.
The team there always smiling and friendly....
Oh....... and the margaritas !!!! ;-))))
This tried-and-true neighborhood option had been overlooked for awhile, until recent disasters in Montecito again focused attention on Coast Village Road. So glad to have rediscovered it, and confirmed that excellent paella is still as good as I remembered (and still ample enough to feed two, or bring leftovers home).
Cava was participating in Santa Barbara’s first Restaurant Week when I visited, which made it an even better value (so I could indulge in coconut cake for desert, worrying only about calories, not expense). It’s reasonably priced to be a go-to place on a regular basis.
Both of us very much enjoyed our meals. It so happened that being able to write on the butcher paper table topper facilitated our business discussion. Cava is a favored option and I’ve always been pleased to dine there.
Do not miss the coconut cake!
One of our favorite go-to spots in Santa Barbara county. We LOVE this restaurant!
Low key vibe, pleasant atmosphere, one of the best if not THE best chicken enchiladas I've ever had, attentive service, great desserts . . . I'll definitely be back!
We like Cava but not today. The only dish that was great on their menu is gone, they took it off the menu. Zarzuela - seafood soup that was over the top is not here anymore. Sad. No more Cava for us.
Food, service and ambiance can't be beat. The paella was especially flavorful and the wait staff unusually attentive and pleasant.
Great food and drink options.
This was on Valentine's Day and we were treated like we were special. Possibly the best chicken quesadillas I've ever had. Also very good Montecito Margaritas with portion of the price donated to the local victims of the fires and mudslides,
Cava has always been a favorite spot for me. I love the food and the atmosphere. The service is always top notch. I had the grilled veggie tostada....it was so amazing!!! I will definitely go back soon. Thank you Cava!
Valentines dinner with my with and ninety three year old father (Mom passed away on Valentines Day). My steak was very good, Dads fish was subpar.
Menu needs updating.
Delicious, friendly, nice atmosphere, wonderful gathering place.
Outstanding food and drinks along with great service. I can’t believe I haven’t given this restaurant a try sooner.
Perhaps it was because we had dinner at Cava 3 days earlier, or because we were in a booth on our earlier visit, or a different chef, but it was slightly below our 5 star expectation. Still very good, but not stellar. Service wasn't as attentive, calamari and guacamole not as awesome. Still, I would return without hesitation.
Always super fresh and flavorful. Nice size portions.
Great wines. Great service. A fantastic place.
Pleasant ambiance and very attentive service. Varied menu, food good and well presented but not experimental. Some portions are IMMENSE. Eg lamb shank for one was a good sized and tasty dinner before the residue was doggie bagged making TWO MORE lunches. Paella was average, with most fish too dry, and more rice than needed. Picky and very foodie diners like me might be a bit disappointed but, with more moderate expectations, I would definitely return.
Terrible. They brought some of the main dishes before the appetizers. The server did not seem to care. One of the main dishes was over salty to the point it was inedible. Again, the server did not seem to care. There was no manager as far as I can tell. No one apologized when we left. We will never go there again.
Cava is a a very popular restaurant in Montecito (Santa Barbara suburb). The food, mostly Mexican, is great and the prices are reasonable. They have a sister restaurant in Santa Barbara called Carlitos. It is fairly small so dinner reservation are highly recommended. Casual attire is fine but the folks in Montecito tend to dress up a bit.
Great service, good food and a very nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
Normally, I would review this restaurant more positively, but there were problems.
Service was extremely slow and, for some reason, there were no lights at all on the front patio - not even candles.
Dinner arrived and it was next to impossible to see what we were eating, so hunted and pecked in the dark for a while, then gave up and asked for our check.
Energetic atmosphere. Interesting choices on menu. Good, friendly service. A good location for casual dining.
The Mexican food is very good. The pozole is very tasty and a bit on the spicy side. Steak quesadilla is excellent. The margaritas were initially weak and they were replaced with a more healthy pour. Excellent service and off street parking.
As always, we had impeccable service. The food was great, and the wine en point. The recent refresh of the interior is subtle but very nice.
Food was just ok
food is very industrial for the price.
Cava is our favorite restaurant to stop at on our way to Santa Barbara. It always delivers!
As always...terrific. Great food, good service, nice ambiance, easy parking. We love to come to Cava, sinply delicioso!
Very nice service and good food if you know what to order. We like it!
I was able to make a reservation for 6 people for Sunday lunch just a few hours before. I appreciated that since it was a busy day in Santa Barbara with many events. When we arrived at Cava, they had set up a lovely table just inside at the front. We had two cyclists joining us who wanted to be able to keep an eye on their bicycles and the restaurant was very accommodating. They immediately found a table outside where the we could tuck the bikes in the back, out of the way of any other diners. There was no attitude from them about changing the table; they made it happen quickly and efficiently. The food was excellent. The portion sizes are large. I had a wonderful burrito asado and it was enough for at least two meals. I took the other half home and it was just as good the next day. Their chips and salsa are yummy - easy to fill up on those, too. Some of my friends had tostadas (the tortillas are made in house and are not fried) which they said were delicious; they were full of grilled vegetables. The server was also excellent - attentive, but not over-bearing. This restaurant is a favorite of a friend of mine and now it is a favorite of mine.
Cute little restaurant. Very friendly hostess who offered us a choice of tables. The restaurant was busy - we went on a Friday evening. We had a nice spot on the patio. We started with margaritas - the first round had little, if any, alcohol. The second round was better. We ordered halibut tacos and shrimp tacos. The pieces of halibut were absolutely huge and nicely cooked. The shrimp was also nicely grilled with a little kick of spice. They give you the papaya, beans, guacamole and cabbage on the side. The papaya salsa had no flavor unfortunately. They did serve a black bean corn salsa with chips which was really good.
