Good experience, I’d go back. But, although the menu listed a Monday Special, the waitress told us it was no longer available and a new special that was more expensive was the special. Disappointing.
I've gone to the CAVA chain restaurants before and loved them, but CAVA Mezze was an even better experience. We sat at the rooftop bar - which was amazing. For dinner, we ordered tzatziki, zucchini fritters and octopus. I'd recommend all of these, especially if you looking for something a little different. We're already planning our next trip back!
Always a great start time
Everything was great about Cava Mezza. The food was terrific and interesting. Good beer list. Great service.
I've never left anything less than 5 stars across the board, but had to say something here. No big deal to start out - our table was set with 6 plates, 5 sets of silverware (two were missing forks), and 4 glasses. It took about 15 minutes for a server to come over, but once she did, we flagged the waitress to the missing pieces. She said she would be back to fix it. We had to remind her again after it appeared she forgot, but it was eventually fixed without any big deal. It was the first seating for brunch, they were busy and no one was upset.
Someone at our table mentioned it had been about 15 minutes since we ordered our drinks. The waitress must have overheard because she then looked over at our table, gestured with her two hands and said "calm down." It was more awkward than anything. Didn't realize what she said was even rude, but it's ok. We didn't mean to come off as snarky.
After that everything was fine, but the waitress spent the rest of the meal being a little awkward. Our experience was hard to describe. The food was good, especially considering the price, but we spent the rest of the day talking about the server.
I won't be back, but I wouldn't press anyone to stay away or anything. I'm sure our server was just having a bad day.

Sat upstairs with the heaters going and cool night. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the food options. Wood oven roasted Brussel sprouts and other vegetables my favorite! SO many good options.

Always a great experience at Cava! The drinks and food were coming out at a quick pace, and the spicy lamb benedict is personal favorite.
very fresh food, off the beaten track. Knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. Salads are big enough to share, some other dishes are more tapas-style. Ideally for a few people willing to share and experiment.

My wife and I enjoy going to Cava Mezze--DC. The food is very good and the service attentive. Sometimes the food courses come out at you a little quick but we've learned to space out our ordering so that our meal is more relaxed. Still we get in and out very quickly for our pre-theater dining occasion.

Great location. Delightful luncheon menu with the choice of three items for a very reasonable price. Wonderful way to enjoy a taste of several items and still have a full lunch. Can't wait to return.
The restaurant called a few hours before our reservation to cancel. It was inconvenient and we were left without last minute options in the area on a busy night.
Cava is delicious. I have been there for lunch several times and was never disappointed, but this was my first time for dinner. We had a reservation and were seated right away. We ordered the dip sampler, brussel sprouts, and the chicken and egg noodles. It was enough for two people plus we brought home leftovers, which heated up just as well the next day. The wait staff was attentive and overall the food was delicious.
This was our first experience at this restaurant. The waitress was patient and was able to help us with our selections. The small restaurant is busy and a bit noisy but enjoyable.
My girlfriend and I had lunch here at 4pm. The waitress was good and explained the menu thoroughly. The food was good but overpriced. I won’t be back anytime soon but it was ok.
We didn't know it was half of bottles of wine, but we took advantage of that! Our waitress was terrific - very friendly and responsive. We enjoyed choosing a variety of veggie dishes and a couple meats - it's a good way for everyone to taste a little something - we got the dish where they set the cheese on fire (very fun!), lamb balls, cauliflower, beet salad, and spanakopita (really good!). You'll have fun when you go!
Great tapas style brunch!
Cava Mezze is one of my favorite places to go for brunch. They have a large selection of small plates for bottomless brunch and the price for it is reasonable, especially for DC. The food is really good and the drinks are as well. It's a good spot for lunch and dinner as well, and during the week it can make for a nice date spot. I highly recommend it!

Wish we had more time here. They put the closing as 11pm, however they were closing at 10pm. The food was especially yummy and very fast service. I was visiting DC and catching up with a friend who had never been there either We really enjoyed the authentic Greek tapas! I will definitely return on my next visit to the area!
I love Cava Mezze and we always go there to celebrate a special event! Food is amazing and delicious and fresh! And we are crazy about their moscow mule and sangria! I really recommend it. Very nice ambiance as well and the service is always great.
Cava Mezze was great for a casual work lunch. They had a set lunch menu with 3 courses for $15, which was very reasonable. The food is delicious. Brussel Sprouts, hummus, cauliflower, and meatballs are all my favorites. I haven't been for dinner, but I would guess the food is just as delicious and the cocktails were handcrafted. Try it out!
I have rarely had a reserved table ready when I arrive here, but if you're okay with waiting for your reservation a little bit the food here is consistently really good. Some particular dishes I go back to most visits, but it's worth branching out and trying some different things as well. They have a great platter if you have a group of people that have never been or just three hungry people who like to try some of their staple tapas dishes.

I came in for bottomless brunch with my friends. Food and drinks were great! The small plates were really fun to share with friends and the mimosas never stopped flowing. It ended up being more expensive than I thought, but for a special occasion it was worth it. Would definitely go again!

The good came out cold at times. The service was ok. She made efforts to say no to many things and took forever to get a fork, as she was still working on it. The food options were ok!!!
Food was good but overpriced for what you got. The staff was friendly but unprofessional and more interested in socializing with each other. There were also a lot of loud groups at the bar and generally more of a casual bar atmosphere.
