Great waiter and food
What a “gem” of a restaurant in the jewelry district!!!
Couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our anniversary dinner!
Kurt, our waiter was very pleasant, made great suggestions and provided excellent service! Swordfish was the BEST I have ever tasted!!!
Definitely worth a repeat visit!!!!!!!
Wonderful as always. Very consistent. This is our. Go to place and we are never disappointed.
I was quite disappointed. It must have taken over an hour for our food to arrive. This is not good, esp when it is a business meal. For the price (about $50 per person), the food was only so-so.
Absolutely amazing. CAV is so gorgeous inside. The food and service was outstanding!
Delicious food. Combat lively ambiance. Unique decoration and setting. Seats appropriately distanced and noise level good so you can have a conversation.
Wonderful food. Wonderful service. Wonderful atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.
Everything from start to finish was wonderful! Highly recommend!
Always the same. GREAT.
One of my favorite go to spots! Excellent food with an eclectic atmosphere and wonderful waitstaff who could ask for more?!
Absolutely love the atmosphere at CAV. We were greeted immediately and had a great table near the window. Service was wonderful and our brunch was fantastic. Very large portion sizes and I feel like it's reasonably priced.
My husband and I had not eaten at the Cav in over 15 years. We chose to go back to celebrate my husband's birthday before going to the RI Philharmonic Saturday evening. We were thrilled! Best restaurant experience we have had in sometime. We were greeted by a friendly staff. Our waiter, Tom, was exceptional. The unique atmosphere, service, food, and drinks made for a delightful experience. We both enjoyed the Scallops and Shrimp for our main course. Excellent! We will be back. Don't know why we waited so long!
Always a great time here. Delicious food, great service, and craft cocktails with a fun ambiance. What more can you ask for?
Love this eclectic restaurant! Service is wonderful and the food is amazing!
CAV always provides me with a wonderful dining experience, I'm a repeat customer who loves the food, ambiance and terrific service. I started of course with the complimentary bread which was just enough and perfectly warmed, a bottle of Ravenswood Old vines Zinfandel and a cup of the Lobster bisque with Tahitian vanilla. The wild Mushroom Crostini for 2 which was so good that I reluctantly shared it, followed these were satisfying just enough to have me ready and waiting for the entree; Pan seared diver sea scallops that melted in my mouth and shrimp finished with lobster butter and a balsamic reduction accompanied with a lemon zest risotto and julienned snow peas.. simply delightful! This was provided with great service and live music and enjoyed with good company! CAV provided us with a wonderful evening!
Never disappointed! I've been to CAV a handful of times, and it's always delicious. I highly recommend all of the appetizers. They're absolutely delectable. I got a shrimp/white bean/ garlic butter sauce pasta dish that was a bit less flavorful than I had anticipated. Everyone else loved their dinner! The filet looked great. Someone got a swordfish special that was stunning and delicious. We will absolutely be back!
I was there for Easter Brunch - the eggs were not hot and my Mom had to send her bread back to have it toasted - when she got it back it still was not toasted and she was never given any potatoes in her breakfast.
2nd time there, chose for my Bday.
Food was good, not great, service was OK.
My son drank 4 sodas , 1 to start and 3 refills.
We were charged for FOUR. Rather obnoxious as the waiter kept asking , would you like more.
For "fine dining" its a silly way to lose a customer
Excellent food, service and very accommodating to our 10 month old granddaughter. Celebrated Easter brunch with my family. Prior to this I hosted a bridal shower for my daughter in their private back room and I’m still getting compliments on it two years later!
Enjoyed the meal and ambiance very much. Bar Drinks also terrific. Server spilled a entire dessert on a brand new jacket. Was apologetic and went to get soda water to help keep the staining to a minimum.
Would have been nice to receive a drink on the house or a dessert to make up for the dry cleaning bill. That was the only complaint.
Would still recommend this restaurant to others. Food from apps to dessert was a 10+.
One more suggestion the place needs more restrooms.
The food was excellent. Apps, soup, dinner and dessert was great. The waiter should have been much nicer, especially with the high $ amount.
Never fails to impress.
CAV is consistently great. The menu has a lot of great options starting with appetizers and going all the way through to dessert. They had a rainbow trout special the night we were in and it was great. My wife got the duck and it was as usual, awesome. Wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. You won't be disappointed.
A delightful meal of french onion soup, salad with grilled chicken and the Parmesan crusted chicken was perfect for pre-theater dining for our party of four. As always the unique decor and exceptional service makes one want to take the time to enjoy the ambiance that this establishment has to offer. Highly recommended for any occasion!
There were four of us enjoying a delicious and comfortable breakfast, food was wonderful and service was great.
Food was downright amazing... Braised tenderloin served with smoked Mozzarella ravioli in a chestnut cream sauce with Oyster Mushrooms. So imaginative and delicious!
The atmosphere is unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced. So cool and fun - layers of neat things to checkout and explore.
Our waiter was average but on the whole attentive and cordial.
With a generous tip the bill for 2 came to $125. I would highly recommend this establishment for a special night out with friends or a date.
Recently, a friend and I decided to "take better care" of our friendship by sharing time and good food in a place we could relax and talk. Both of us thought of CAV! Each time I have been to CAV, the wait staff are eager to share their recommendations, which have never failed to please. In fact, when celebrating birthdays, our waiter had the bartender make a 'drink to order' for my daughter.
My friend and I have been so delighted with our time together at CAV. So, the FOOD!!! I can say that I have never had a dinner that disappointed. Again, I attribute much to the knowledge of the wait staff in answering questions and making recommendations. Ironically, we have been seated at the same table with the same wonderful waiter, so we have planned to make this 'our place' from now on ~ no need to go anywhere else!
Cav has been our go to dining location in Providence . Always a great meal on a whimsy. Crab cakes with salad and wine is always a hit. Location is convenient and service very good!
Was a very nice dining experience, brunch was excellent ! Cant wait to come back and have dinner !
CAV is one of our favorite restaurants. Very interesting decor. My favorite is the duck. Excellent service
First timer and LOVED everything about our experience. From start to finish, our visit and meal was extraordinary! And Tom, our waiter, was awesome! Thank you! Be back again soon!
Always a wonderful meal at Cav. Love the décor. The staff is always friendly and attentive.
Good food, nice ambience for brunch. A little loud
loved the ambiance and the food! i cant wait to come back!
I love the restaurant but my cousin was disappointed as they were serving only a limited lunch menu, mostly brunch.
We had not realized that as it was a Sat..
I was really looking forward to this since there are so many great reviews and it was recommended by friends also but our experience was not great. The ambiance and service was great, the food not so much. The coconut shrimp tasted like the ones I’ve eaten frozen from Trader Joe’s, the mussels were not washed well and kept getting sand and some pieces were super super fishy, both of our meals came out over cooked but at the same time lukewarm. I had the chicken with pears dish and the chicken was super dry with no flavor and hardly warm. My husband had the pork special and his was super salty and also over cooked.
CAV is a little off the beaten path on the Jewelry District, but is always very good. Meals are prepared with care. I've had most everything on the menu over the years and you really can't go wrong. Servers are well versed in the menu and give honest recommendations.
We had a delightful meal here. The menu is very eclectic and our selections were very well prepared. Our waiter was friendly and informative and we had a fabulous evening.
Everything was great! Nice atmosphere!
