We used to live in Providence years ago and I occasionally did Sylvias hair. The restaurant was just starting up when we moved to Cleveland and I frequently wondered how it was going. I was sad to hear that she had passed but warmed that her restaurant was thriving and so beautiful.

Great find. Went out for our 18 year wedding anniversary. The staff were wonderful and the food was delicious. Definitely coming back here soon.

The web site says nothing that I could see about live music; I found a review that said there was live music on the weekends. However, when we arrived on a Thursday evening with a 7:00 pm reservation there was a singer and instruments blaring. No one greeted or acknowledged us for a long time. We could not hear each other, even when we asked to be seated away from the performers. So we asked politely if the amplifiers could be turned down a little. Our server rudely said "No." There was no chance of an enjoyable meal, so we left. The performers weren't bad, they were just playing much too loud for dinner conversation. I would suggest CAV advertise clearly that there is music during the meal -- and work on their customer service skills.

The restaurant is self is absolutely gorgeous ! Nice staff good food . Good representation of the food. Only thing that threw me off is that the food was a little cold .

The ambiance was fabulous and the service perfect - not overbearing and yet attentive. The chicken parm was elevated flavors with a cream sauce - The trout special was unique with turnips and couscous . A wonderful magical experience.

Had the sea scallops and shrimp, which were amazing, along with a couple glasses of Firesteed pinot noir. My friend had the creme brulee for dessert but wasn’t crazy about it, so they immediately took it off the bill. Great service and fantastic dinner.

We went to dinner to celebrate my MIL’s 87th birthday.
Location was convenient, parking was plentiful.
The hostess did an excellent job placing us in a quieter corner. Not easy for a busy night! My MIL absolutely loved the entire dining experience.
Mussels in curry sauce were wonderful appetizer.
Drinks were well crafted.
The seared Ahi tuna was actually seared, not over cooked the way most places in mainland US do it. All other entrees were also prepared skillfully and as described on the menu.

Four of us went to CAV after seeing Hamilton at PPAC. The waiter was attentive, the food was divine, and we loved the kitschy atmosphere. We were not rushed, but enjoyed a lovely, relaxing dinner experience. Everybody was thoroughly pleased with their menu selections. Would definitely go back there again and we recommend it to others without reservation.

Cav is a special place for my family and I as my rehearsal dinner was there and since then, a lot of family special occasions. The food is always delicious and this time around was no exception! Mussels in a coconut curry with rice noodles was just delicious. Cav has such a nice ambiance- it’s fancy without being pretentious, delicious without being too fussy, and friendly in all the right ways.

Booked for our 9th anniversary dinner. They sat us in an exclusive little raised area with only 2 tables which was nice and intimate. Service was attentive but a little slow; however, the waiter had asked if we were in a hurry, and as we weren't, he allowed us a leisurely meal. There was a jazz band playing and the ambiance was ecclectic and interesting. Our calimari appetizer was amazing--some of the best I've had. I could say the same for the lobster bisque. It was sweet and creamy, I could really taste the vanilla, and (bonus) I ended up with a bowl for the price of a cup per the kitchen's mistake! Their award-winning "poulet aux poires" was not disappointing, however, the creme brulee was. The sugar was a bit too burnt for my liking and the custard was very runny. The taste was fine, but it was too bad to end such a delicious meal with a mediocre dessert. I would certainly return, next time maybe just do another appetizer since they have quite the menu.

Great food as usual. The atmosphere is just elegant and lovely. My two companions had never been and they loved the place and the food. Portions are not teeny or huge - just right! The three of us shared the Sophia salad and the calamari appetizer. The entrees were the Salmon, the Duck and the Shrimp & pasta. All were excellent!

I had been here years ago and evidently forgot how amazing the food was. Calamari "isn't" fried, they sautéed it, amazing flavor. Dinner, Filet and I had seared scallops with shrimp over risotto. Can't wait to go back.

Great food, great atmosphere! We loved the brunch menu, and the pistachio-encrusted crab cake was unbelievably good (pretty much just lump crabmeat!). Wish we could have sat on the patio in the sun, but the inside of the restaurant is so eclectic and fun, that it was nice to be indoors too.

We had a fabulous dinner at CAV Saturday 8/3 . Our waiter was awesome ( I believe his name was Kurt ) , very helpful and made great suggestions . The food was delicious and service was spot on . We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great food, wonderful service. The atmosphere is great, and there are so many cool antiques to look at. Also loved that they have their own parking lot. We were able to leave our car there while we went to a show at PPAC.

Have been wanting to go here for years. So glad we did!! We both loved everything about this place. The bartender, I think his name was Frenzy, he was very knowledgeable with the different bourbons. Jonathan our waiter was friendly, very nice and very knowledgeable about the different dishes and when he didn't know then answer he asked the chef. It was a lovely dinner and added to the rest of our night.
