We had a nice Birthday brunch here on a Saturday. We were surprised the place was completely empty until we realized afterwards that everyone was upstairs at the pool. Bottomless mimosas had the good OJ with pulp. Bloody Mary's were apparently strong tomato + horseradish flavored. Avocado toast was good and the huevos rancheros were fine.
Aaron was our server and he was phenomenal. He made sure that we had time to make up or minds about what we want and still being engaged in our conversation. He gave great recommendations as well. Most importantly he was instrumental in making sure that the birthday being celebrated was a surprise and was very accommodating. He came off very genuine and that's rare. The booths were nice and the lighting was nice as well. The very tasty. We had the half chicken and risotto, both really hit the spot. This was a great first experience and I will definitely come back.
Lovely atmosphere in tastefully decorated traditional restaurant setting.
Comfortable location for lunch meeting or dinner with friends.
Food has improved immensely. Best ahi tuna/avocado stack and jidori chicken.
Usually, Caulfield's is much more quiet than it was this day. Good for them to be busy, but it was fairly loud, almost to be annoying. Kale salad with chicken was simple and very good, and all I had on this trip. But food is always reliable. Service is always very good as well.
Very few diners and yet service was too slow—- forgot bread- didn’t refill water.
Rarely checked on our table. Would hate Togo when it was packed!
My dining experience at Caulfield’s today was one of the worst I’ve ever had. I’ve dined at their establishment many, many times for lunch, but today was the final straw. The soup of the day was salty, acidic, and there was a small plastic object in it. I promptly sent it back to the kitchen and was assured my main course would be out soon (they brought out of business partner’s main course when they brought out my soup). I sat for nearly twenty minutes before anyone approached me about my meal and it was another ten minutes before my main course landed on the table. The manager took the soup off the bill and only charged me for half of my main course, but the restaurant was nearly empty and there’s no excuse for poor, inattentive service when we were practically their only customers. This is the second bad dining experience I’ve had here and I will not be back. For the prices they charge and their prime location, it’s a shame more care isn’t given to their customers, their food, and their reputation.
Came back the next day for Christmas dinner and to celebrate Carlo’s birthday with our kids!
In LA visiting our Son for the holidays and popped into this gem for lunch . Found this amazing place on open table. After doing some last minute Christmas shopping at the Beverly center and not really knowing the city . We went on open table to find a place and found Claufields. What an amazing find it was!
I had the kale chips and the grilled shrimp appetizer for lunch my husband had the grilled whole snapper what and amazing the lunch I think I hummed through my entire lunch it was great! The wait staff was awesome and the chef came out to great us, she is was so personable and just amazing! Such a tatted group. They made our introduction to Beverly Hills a bright one!
We enjoyed it so much we had Chris dinner with them and celebrated my husbands birthday there the following day!
Lovely ambience and service
Disappointing menu and very slow service. Salads were pathetically scarce, but hamburgers and frenchfries were well received.
Ordered the Brussel Sprout appetizer without bacon; the first round came with bacon - returned for a bacon-free version; the replacement came after the entree; the remake was very tasty; the broccolini was not-hot; the salmon was medium-rare, but tasty; the sun-dried tomato "garnish" did not compliment the entree; the mashed sweet potatoes were perfect. The music was loud, but good. The service was attentive, sufficient and polite. I would go again, but would not order anything that required removal of any ingredients before service - not judging, just saying.
Terribly inattentive service. Almost comically so.
Very reliable in a relaxed environment, Caulfield's once again delivered. Finally had the avocado toast (it always looked good on past visits), and it was exceptional. Great tuna nicoise salad done with seared Ahi. Restaurant was very quiet, but service remained great. Wish they had a few more healthy options, especially among sandwiches.
Food wasn't memorable, service was
I would come here with a love one it's nice romantic
Wow. My 2nd time at Caufields and service continues to be the same. Pretty poor. They just need to add another waiter. Food is fine
The food was good, service was a bit of wack of at times but I think it's a great place to eat at
Had difficulty choosing where to sit. The only room that was interesting was the backroom with the murals and booths. The rest of the place is very cold, including tables near the window. Maybe the experience is better for lunch. Food proper.
This was my second try with this place; the first being three years earlier. It hasn't changed. At a weekday lunch the service was terribly slow, the food is mediocre at best and very overpriced.
Surprising wonderful breakfast with great service.
Nice selection of really good food. The seated tuna salad was excellent and the mac/cheese really really good! Can't go wrong here!
Dine LA is a greta dela and the meal that the Caulfield provided was much better than expected. Amazing value and greta service.
The place is nice, the food is tasty, when we went, it was us and another table, so if wasn't fun at all. The room was super cold, like uncomfortably cold. Would I go back? Doubtful.
Bad service. One entree (risotto) inedible. Extremely over-priced drinks. Very disappointing.
Big Bust. My husband and I took my mom and step dad here for Mother's Day. First I ordered a bloody mary. It was undrinkable. Then I ordered a mimosa. Again, undrinkable. And I like to drink. The service was spotty. When my "scramble" came, it was not scrambled together but was overcooked eggs with the scramble materials on the side. Luckily I had worked out at the gym earlier that day so I was starving and was able to eat the meal even though it didn't taste good. My husband and I couldn't wait to get out of there and I was embarrassed for having chosen it. It's too bad because I had been there a few weeks ago with women friends and we had good food and good drinks. The service was spotty also though. Will not return for a third time.
Restaurant has a great old world quiet ambiance. You can actually have a conversation.
The rooftop bar is a totally different vibe - hip, happening, lively.
It was a great combo to start with a drink on the roof and then move to the dinning room for a nice long luxurious meal.
Waitstaff was OK- felt a bit hit and miss.
Must try: Kale chips, Barramundi fish, Key Lime pie!
It was okay. Not hurrying back. Lacked any type of personality.
Very noisy but the food was pretty good and the butterscotch budino was great.
Very disappointed. Billed as an Oscars watch party, it was NOT. No special Oscar drinks or foods, other than popcorn. The place was almost empty.
The food was overpriced and only fair at best. I travel to LA 4 or 5 times a year. Not returning to Caulfield's.
it was nice. very quiet as we were after the lunch crowd. food was fine, not exceptional but decent. I do recommend the Kale Chips as they were great !
I cannot stand my water being empty. There were several times I didn't have a drink and was very thirsty. I felt like I was the bad person by asking. Why should I have to ask for a drink to be filled in Beverly Hills? Our waiter was sparsely seen.
Was there for Valentines and they were grossly underprepared even though they were not at full capacity. It's hard to feel comfortable when you hear the tables around you complaining about service and the first thing out of the waiters mouths is "I'm sorry for...".
Then there were mistakes on the food as the had a special valentines menu but when ordering off the regular menu they would mix the two up.
Piano player in the corner could have been a nice touch, though he kept making mistakes! Lol.
Comedy of errors all night.
the restaurant is located on the ground level of a boutique hotel called SIXTY. The place was fairly empty but a simple space and nice bar. I think the prices (menus and drinks) might be a too high, and perhaps for alot of folks they go elsewhere.
I had a date and sat in a cozy (we were alone practically) booth.
be sure to go UP to the roof and see the panoramic views from the bar there....amazing!
Last two meals here were during Dine LA, and they offered a terrific two-course $20 deal. All six items were good as all I ate with had at least one of the items. The chicken noodle soup was light and especially good, but the avocado toast was beautiful. And the salmon entry was plentiful as was the side of mixed small potatoes that came with it. Staff is always really present and attentive.
Food and service was amazing! All the ladies wanted to go somewhere we haven't been. So we picked Claufields. We decided to share all of the food that was ordered
Everything was great in portion and taste
Our server was very sweet and attentive
Enjoyed the special Dine LA menu which was $39 for 3 courses. The ambiance is lovely and the service was impeccable.
Went for a meal on Christmas Day so perhaps that was a factor but overall, very disappointed with the quality of both the food and the service.
A couple functions caused us to go to the rooftop. This was a disappointment. The menu was poor and the cocktail list was inaccurate.
We left and went elsewhere
Consistently delicious! We love coming here for excellent food, nice ambiance, and great service.
