Catfish Dewey's Ratings and Reviews
Despite the name (catfish - which I do not like), Menu is composed of an array of dishes that will please even the most discerning epicurian. Surf and Turf with a side od pasta was ample and I couldn't finish it. My wife had twin lobster tail and she could finish it !! On other days, they have All-You-Can-EAT" (Check their daily menu). The place was crowded and reservations are highly recommended. Parking spots fills out quickly and you might have leave your car at the gas station (next door) where someone will watch your car for you. If this is also full, than there is $3.00 parking lot next to the gas station. Tip-It was Friday night and the place was packed. Definitely a place to put on your map of South Florida,
First timer; this is a "down home" restaurant with lots of large tables. Extremely reasonably priced. Some hoity toity people might think it was too "down home". I was a little miffed (call me elitist) that there were no chives for my baked potato and the sour creme was pre packaged, as was the butter. I know this is commonplace but I still don't like it. Very friendly hostess. Charming but reserved very young waiter. This restaurant has a "parking manager" that helps steer you to parking since spaces are limited: very inventive!
This was our third visit to Catfish Dewey's. The food is consistently good. In particularly like the "small portion" grilled shrimp which is actually a good size dish - 10 nice size shrimp and it comes with two sides - I had the baked potato and Cole slaw,. The atmosphere is casual and homespun. The prices are reasonable and the waitstaff and hostesses are very pleasant. We will go back.
We enjoyed Catfish Dewey's when we lived in Broward, missed it when we moved to Georgia and now make the trip from Loxahatchee, FL (Palm Beach County) without hesitation. The portions of the kid's Shrimp dinner was huge. My husband enjoyed 4 whole catfish and our sons enjoyed the catfish filets. I went for the rack of ribs to add variety to the table. Everyone sampled and we still had a to-go box!
Parking can be a bit creative but it has always been that way and definitely not a deterrent. Our waitress was attentive but didn't hover.
