All I can say is they have the best fried oysters. In fact the best fried food anywhere. I go for the Stone Crab. It is "all you can eat" if you want. It is an experience to go there.
Now that they use Open Table is is a pleasure. Don't expect fancy, it is just down home fresh fish, with lots of food.

Best place for affordable all you can eat stone crab. They had an influx of medium size claws, and a good selection of large. I went crazy and went for the jumbo sized claws; a move I don’t regret making.
The beer is nicely priced and pairs well with all of the seafood selections. Friday nights is all you can eat catfish and scallop dinners. When you take a higher priced all you can eat entree, the lesser priced selections are also included.
Definitely worth coming to this place.

Who needs Joe's when we have Catfish Dewey's. Same stones half the price. Always fresh and the restaurant is very friendly. I've been going to this place for over 25 years many times a year.

Got there on a Friday night reserved for 8:15pm and we were seated exactly at the time reserved, the two hostesses greeted us with a smile and were very attentive. Had the unlimited Alaskan and stone crabs. Our waiter was beyond amazing he kept our orders coming and was extremely efficient.

Unfortunately this was the worst experience I have had at this restaurant. We made a reservation and still waited 30 minutes when there were plenty of tables in the back. To me the service has gone way down and they truly don't care. The crabs are not like they used to be and the service was horrible!! We were there celebrating a birthday and they could care less!! We will not be returning there as there are lots of others out there that serve fresher sea food with not an attitude!!! Very unhappy customer:(

The all you can eat crab legs were ok. . My big complaint is after we both got our first plate, which were great. All our next servings were old, cold, overcooked, dark brown, sitting for way too long ...like they just appeased us with our first plate. We literally had to ask for a good fresh batch to satisfy our stomachs and the price we paid. For $115 all you can eat for two....we were disappointed in them giving us the bad crab legs. If all servings were like out first plate....we would of had no complaints.

We were on vacation in Fort Lauderdale looking for a "classic" seafood restaurant which we found in this restaurant. It is a casual old-time Florida restaurant with the decorations and plastic checkered tablecloths. Our waitress was attentive though the restaurant was very busy. We sat down and had a basket of hot hushpuppies just our of the fryer. My cocktail was good, as was all the food we ordered. Will definitely go back next time we are in Fort Lauderdale!

When there is a line outside to get in, that’s a good sign! Made an open table reservation and got right in. Hush puppies and slaw first then awesome seafood. Hubby had fried scallops I had blackened shrimp. Local neighborhood place with great food. Excellent casual dining that won’t break the bank.

It was our last night in the area and I thought I remembered the name of the restaurant I had loved as Catfish Dewy's. As soon as I drove in, I realized that it was not. I was disappointed, but not willing to try and figure out what that other one was and where it was. I am SO glad that I did not. I think it was meant to be. It was fantastic. Started with Hush Puppies which were perfect. Shared an order of conch fritters which were to die for. I had the blackened tilapia which was excellent and my husband had the grilled grouper which he raved about. Everything was excellent. The atmosphere was pure coastal Florida and I would go back there in a heartbeat!

The only thing I must say is that per the restaurant they stated that this was not a "reservation " per say . Because we still had to wait for almost 30 -35 min . Love the food and the drinks we will be returning again !!

Food was really pretty good. It was very crowded and since my mother is 99 we asked to have a table closer to the front so she didn’t have to walk. They put us at the first table and it was really not a great experience. Everyone waiting for a table was standing around us with drinks. It was really pretty annoying. But the server was nice and even though we had to wait quite a while for food, he did bring us some shrimp. (Although we never got our coleslaw at all).
We will go back.

We had a 7:30 reservation and did not get seated until 8:20. We were told that open table was not a reservation but just letting them know we were coming like in call ahead seating. They literally sat everyone that was waiting, even the groups that came after us before we were seated. When we finally got seated, we were in a room that had one other table with 2 people. Shortly after we were given our drinks, they seated the other 3 tables in the room and two of those tables got their food before we did. And we ordered when we got our drinks. We did not get our food until 9:30 and the potatoes were cold, some of the fried food was soggy. They were no busier than they normally are, so there was really nothing excuse. We used this love this place but not sure if we will return.

We went with another couple for Stone Crabs which were very good and one of my friends had Catfish which she loved. They have different prices for small, med and large stones, also all you can eat at a certain price. The place is very casual. I forgot our waiters name, but he was so attentive and made our evening. We have been there many times and would differently go back again.

A bit over rated. We did enjoy the fish house digs and the quick seating for our reservation. Server was friendly and fit the motif of the restaurant.

Stone crab app was a-ok. Crab leg and lobster tail entree was fine but nothing to write home about. The AYCE “scallops” and catfish were disappointing due to the fake scallops.

If a return is in order would not order those again.

Maybe try again, maybe not.

We arrived at Catfish Dewey’s for dinner and were immediately seated. We received tall glasses of water with lemon, coleslaw and a basket of hushpuppies immediately, then the server came over to take our drink and food orders. The food came out very quickly . We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and will certainly be back. I think this will be one of our favorite haunts.
