A real shame. Have been here before and it’s been excellent. The sushi was great as was the service. The mains were horrible and seemed like they’d been left at the pass for half an hour. A good chef would not have let it go out. The kitchen let the restaurant down on this occasion.

Lovely atmosphere on the coast. Food was well prepared and presented, but definitely overpriced. WATCH OUT FOR PARKING VALET SCAM!! Even though web site says $9 with validation, was charged $29.75 with validation!!! Called the restaurant, but they did NOTHING about it.

The room was very comfortable for our dinner. Everyone was extremely nice. The music made it a fun time, and the lobster delicous.

The room is spectacular because of the location and view. But the food was just ok. Plus there wasn’t enough variety on the menu and none of the oysters posted on a blackboard were available. There was one type which was good but not what we wanted. The sauces offered were simple and somewhat boring. My mushroom soup was dreadful and bland. There was just one waiter for the entire room and therefore he had trouble being a timely or attentive presence. I’ve been going for dinner and lunch since the room opened and unlike previous incarnations, the food was very disappointing. We loved the fact we could talk and hear each other.

We had an amazing meal for our 2nd wedding anniversary based on the recommendations of our server. Plenty of parking, excellent customer service, and terrific food worth the price tag. Will definitely be dining here again.

Surprising find. Excellent food in a very elegant environment, at a nice, secluded location. Sushi was outstanding, and the King Crab legas and the oysters were also very good.

kitchen does not seem to be on top of the situation. Food underwhelming. Odd Caesar salad with frisee, minimal romaine and next to no dressing. Sea bass entrée was average. service slow but restaurant did not appear that busy. My previous dining experiences much better but that was over 5 years ago.

Our seafood dinners were superb! Seabass and swordfish. Can't wait to return. Service was excellent. There were a couple large tables that were noisy, but the food made up for the annoyance.
A pretty room and if you are there during the day you will have a beautiful view of the ocean. A lovely place to dine off busy Ocean Avenue!!

Wonderful ambience. Diverse food and drink choices. Excellent meals. Unobtrusive service. The only small hiccough was that they had inadvertently repeated my reservation and so split our party across two tables - it took them 20 minutes to realise - but to their credit did and rectified the situation. Would definitely dine here again!

* AVOID AT ALL COSTS*
Used to love this place.
I had been going for many years (10+), but no more.
The food has deteriorated. It used to be excellent but is now average at high prices. $$$$$

The food and beverage manager and staff are judgemental.

First off, the 1920’s architecture, ocean views and dining atmosphere is pretty impressive. However that’s where the greatness ends. What happened to the glory and statue of traditional gourmet cuisine that it is now poo pooed in favor of the obnoxious fusion foodie cuisine for the bizarre palette? Was tremendously disappointed with all courses. Everything arrived to table at wrong temperature and everything tasted terrible with odd seasonings, dips and side pairings. I love dining at the best of the best of hotels in Beverly Hills and SoCal and this restaurant I will never go back to. And I got food poising to boot (from food not served at correct temperatures or cooked all the way through - can we say eating piles of bacteria laden food sitting in back to long waiting to be served) and that never happens to me at restaurants!! Extremely expensive for zero food delight. Dessert coffee was the best part!! Go to the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge instead!!

Met people we hadn't seen in 20 years for dinner, they were staying in Santa Monica so we needed a place close to them. Reading some of the reviews, I was concerned that the Music would drown out our conversation...but decided to try The Catch anyway.

We were pleasantly surprised in that we were far enough from the Combo to have uninterrupted conversation (if you are in the same room as the combo and the bar, you really couldn't carry on a conversation).

Pork Belly appetizer...tasty, but fatter than I am used to having...a negative.

All of us ordered different seafood entrees (salmon, bass, cod and scallops)… we were all very happy with the choices.

The corkage of $40 is excessive, but I understand why, as they really want to sell their own overpriced wine.

Our server was wonderful. He knew we hadn't seen each other for a long time and he let us have enough space to 'catch up'. Very much appreciated.
