We enjoyed our meal but couldn't figure out why the sushi took so very long. We also thought the waiter could have been more attentive early on at the restaurant wasn't too busy and we did order promptly.
Excellent view right on the beach. Food was very good-not next level up to excellent. The food is propped up by the phenomenal view and is definitely worth a visit.
We made reservations for 6:00pm but arrived 15 min early because there was no traffic surprisingly on Saturday. We were celebrating our 7th anniversary. They seated us right away at a table with a beautiful ocean view. Service was AMAZING. We started off with crab crostini and Caesar salad. Both were fantastic but crab was really good. My husband had the Maine scallops and loved them! I had the lobster with a bunch of vegetables and it was huge and delicious! Would definitely come back again!
Fantastic service and food!!!!
Loved the ambiance, the view, the food, for sure will come back!
I couldn’t believe that we were charged $2 extra for a stirred martini. Really? As opposed to shaking? I asked for the sauce for my steak to be served on the side. It was...but was also served on my steak. I had the waiter replate as to take out all the extra sauce. The food was good. The service was very slow, considering there were only eight tables and three waiters. Don’t think I’ll be returning soon.
Expected better service (waiters who did not hate life) and food quality for the price.
I was happy to be able to have our special friends with us. It was private where we sat and it was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed the live music as well. I will try to stay at the hotel next time.
Way too pricey but the food was great. Our waiter wasn’t very good either.
This place is a joke. It was not even crowded and we were seated at 8pm. we places an order for spring water which took 30 minutes to get. the food order was messed up and the appetizers took forever..soup..the waiter was rude and didnt even apologize or take responsibility for placing the wrong order.
it took an hour an half for steak ..never to return..foood was bad and spat in
Ambiance was beautiful. Our waiter, Guillermo, was friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about food and wine. The food was perfectly prepared. Four of us had a great time. Highly recommended
We had a lovely Valentines night at Catch! The Prix Fix menu had a great variety of dishes and everything was delicious! It’s a very romantic setting and the staff is very nice and professional
Ambiance great, food great. Portions a little small for my liking, but we had a great experience.
I really enjoyed our evening. I will be returning.
Magnificent. The hotel is done on a grand scale, the bar stretches across the entire front of the building overlooking the Pacific. The drinks are well done and the wine list is brief but all excellent choices making choosing a wine or a cocktail easy. The food is spectacular. Can't wait to go back!
Great! Outstanding food. Tuna tartar portion was a bit small but otherwise amazing
We went for a guest chef special dinner and I was pleased that the regular menu was also available-- so lots of choices. Cocktails were delicious and potent but at $18 , were expensive . Caesar salad was excellent and the guest chef 's linguini with clams was very good, but other dishes were just OK, e.g. California roll, scallops on both menus and eggplant parmigiana.
The atmosphere was celebratory , which was nice.
We came in for the Quisiana dinner and ordered off of the regular menu as well. Everything was amazing. The view, the food, wine selection and price was right. Going back soon for sushi that looked amazing too.
Food was great & portion was perfect! Service was a little off, it seems like our waiter wanted to leave because we were the last table of the night, but he was kind and asked if we still needed anything else.
Love the experience! Food and service were great.
Terrific food, atmosphere was a bit cold
Service was very slow
NOT the restaurant it was at one time. We had not been there for 18 months and immediately noticed they had jammed in quite a large number of tables in the dining area. We sat down at 6:00 PM and ordered drinks. 20 minutes later we ordered our food and we did not see our waiter again for over an hour. Others brought our food out and replenished our drinks. My wife's steak was suppose to be medium rare and was almost well done. We decided not to send it back as it took 50 minutes for it to come out, mind you there were only 6-8 other people in the dining area. We were very surprised to see a couple walk in the dining room with a very large dog and instruct the dog to lay down next to their table. As the dining room started to fill the noise level and close proximity of the tables made conversation difficult. The dining attire evident in the room was beach casual. Flip flops and dogs!!!!!! We will not be back. Sad it used to be a wonderful.
I love this place! We went there for my daughter's birthday and what a great night. The food, view, and action at the bar made the night terrific. I will be going back soon!!!
I never review but we went there for Christmas lunch and the food and service were just awful and unbelievably expensive
All good, especially the food which was excellent. Squid Ink pasta the best thing we had. Only real issue was that they forgot that it was a birthday meal, even after being reminded when we sat down. When it got busy, the quality of service dropped off.....they seemed to get a little rushed.
Beautiful view. The service was good, but our servers seemed quite stretched to cover many tables, which slowed down our access to our waiter. Every dish served to our party of 8 was delicious. Too bad that bread or rolls are not available; we would have liked some. Something is different here...some of the energy and luster is gone with the whole lobby. It's still beautiful and the location is magnificent, but it needs to hit "refresh."
Great sea food and deserts!
Everything and everyone was excellent and wonderful food and ambience. We will definitely be back to enjoy other experiences 👍
For my son and brother's joint birthday dinner, this restaurant pulled out the stops, treating my family like we were celebs. The food is terrific, and everything was just wonderful. It has been years since I've been here, but I'm going to come more often now, because it's just great!
Great meal, great service and a super waterfront location.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful if you work on the service and hire more professional waiters you’ll be number one in LA. But we will come back anyways
The service did not meet our expectations. Took too long to be served the appetizers (25 minutes); When the entree arrived, the server had no place to put the plates because no one had taken away the appetizer dishes. My friends and I had to pick up our plates and hold until someone could take from us. I expected much better service from a restaurant like Catch Del Mar. A $400 bill and such a disappointing experience. We will not be going back to this restaurant.
Six of us went for a special birthday. We were greeted, but no one came back to take our drink orders - for 20 minutes! We sat there with nothing. We complained to the manager, but they really could have cared less and did nothing for us. The restaurant wasn't that busy and another table was having the same issue. Food was good, but we'll never go back. Worst service and management experience we've had at a restaurant in years. Too bad!
the waiter was awful, felt like he couldn't be bothered at all to serve us and seemed irritated at what I ordered, even though it was an appetizer, it was as much as a dinner entrée - I don't think I will return here, as much as I love the ambience of the hotel itself
We went to Catch during sushi happy hour and it did not disappoint! The sushi was creatively presented & super fresh. We also had the oysters, well prepped and easy to eat;)
The restaurant views and the food were exceptional
Service was A1. Waiter was attentive and patient. Hostess was accommodating. My dish was ok but not worth the hefty price. Only one other person wasn't crazy about his meal. However. drinks were fabulous. Music was awesome. Overall enjoyed the experience.
Mistakenly thought this location would be like the one in New York. I was very wrong. The sushi was good, the King Crab crostini that the server bragged about was about as tasty as canned crab on toasted rye bread. The scallops were big and pretty good. The atmosphere was like a cafeteria in a nice hotel overlooking people walking along the sidewalk along the beach. The atmosphere was far better in the hotel lounge. No reason to go out of your way to go to this place, but if you're there the food is fairly decent. I'd recommend the sushi. Oh, and for the prices they charge they should put white table clothes on the tables.
