Amazing world-class cooking and dishes.
The soup: “Stinging Nettle Soup”
is 3 stars Michelin rated score.
Amazingly delicious food by world-class Chef Tim Carey.
You must try the “stringing nettle soup”. And catch of the day fish dishes.
The staff at Catch were extremely thoughtful, knowledgeable and efficient. They added an extra level of enjoyment to our get together.
Went there with four dear friends who, like my wife and I, never had been to Catch. None of us were disappointed. As the ambience, food, drink and service were fantastic! I would recommend this to anyone want a great experience and fun time!
Amazing food and service. Beautiful view of the beach and a cozy atmosphere. Carpacchio plates were delicious! Live music in the lobby was a nice addition to our evening.
The host seated us at a preferred location and we were able to take advantage of the view and sunset.
This is a great meeting place for drinks. There are enough sofas and chairs at Happy Hour and the lounge is beautiful.
Superb in all respects. This is definitely our favorite restaurant in Santa Monica when we come to visit
Dinner the first night of our honeymoon was a disappointment.
Branzino grilled perfectly
Salmon was delicious
Terrible service; asked for a coke on 3 occasions- I'm still waiting for it to come to the table..., our table was crumbed with a wet bar rag-pretty gross, server never checked back once entrees were delivered. In fact, he didnt come back until the busser cleared the plates to see if we wanted dessert. It would be one thing if it was packed but it was a Monday night and the place was empty. Steps of service really need to be revisited here. Would have been nice to see a manager touching tables so I could have atleast addressed not getting my beverage after repeatedly asking for it.
We were a bit 'underwhelmed'. Maybe it was that we were eating late on a Monday night, but had great service, nice place, but food was just 'good'. Prawn Cocktails were very good, but Crab Cakes seemed tasteless and usually like a spicy 'liquid' remoulade, was not particularly fond of the 'pico pepper' as it was more like a hummus, Bone in Ribeye was disappointing. Wine list was great, great choices, but overall, just a bit disappointed and of course a later hour dinner in February doesn't have the ocean views that set the ambience up so well there.
We went to Catch at Casa Del Mar last Friday night and we had an amazing dinner. The food, the service and the vibe were incredible! I loved the rainbow roll and the scallops. The lobster is fabulous. Great drinks and the best view in the city! I send lots of business to Catch and my guests come back raving about the food and service!
I am looking forward to returning!
Enjoyed the service and food. Wonderful ambience and great place for Valentine's Day!
Tueday evenings for dinner will never be the same again: the ambiance, the music, the amazing bartenders, - and TACO TUESDAYS at the 5 star hotel in Santa Monica's awe inspiring HOTEL CASA DEL MAR: the queen of Ocean avenue.
The good was sublime, the service was stellar- I am addicted to Taco Tuesdays!!
Our server was absolutely wonderful
Great place. The Dine LA menu was good. The octopus excellent. The pasta dish a bit dry but the branzino was great. Dessert: Berry cobbler yummy.
Setting is great - food was very good. Service was friendly, but slow. once the trio started up downstairs, it became pretty loud
Four of us had the dine LA special. The three appetizer choices and the desserts were very good. The main dishes, roasted chicken, brandzino and short ribs, all were slightly dry.
Great food and experience. Service was friendly and had a great time.
The dragon sushi was fresh and good tasting. The short rib was tender but flavorless. Needed sprucing up with spices or light sauce. The sea bass was a complete disappointment. The green sauce tasted like water. Something that a cook without training would produce. And to add insult to injury the portion was too small for dinner, specially at $45! The server and busters attentive. Would not consider dining here again.
Guillermo was such an amazing waiter he made the experience extra special we loved the food the wine and the Ambience
Fantastic service with immediate attention and then out of the way for us to talk. The menu has so much to offer ... we had Risotto, Crab Cakes and Salmon. The wine list was spectacular and had some really great pricing by the bottle; we had Domaine Ott and a couple of cocktails. One in our party was fasting and requested water, which was never empty and tea. We all settled up with Espresso and I have to say the entire meal was without delays, hiccups, or any flaw for that matter. Would recommend this location for business, dates, and parties up to 12 as the dining area has a clear 180* view of the ocean. The pace of the meal was flowing, but never rushed, with plenty of time between courses. Having been there before the Sea Bass and Rib Eye steak are special and highly recommended along with the items we ordered as well.
You can come early for happy hour in the lobby where there was music, food and drinks - a real mellow tone with plenty of seating for lively groups or quiet couple(s). Or sit at the bar and experience it all.
Thought it was great. Cheers!
Great Birthday dinner. Dine LA special is fantastic!
Their view is gorgeous! The food is delicious with many interesting options - sushi was fabulous as an appetizer. The service was friendly and our server was knowledgeable offering suggests. Good craft cocktails and wine pairings. And our dessert was a perfect ending. Great meal, wonderful evening!
The space is beautiful and I imagine the views during the day are great, however, the food was bland and not worth the cost.
My wife and I took part in the DineLA experience and it was well worth it. She had the grilled octopus and squid ink pasta, and I had the butternut squash soup and braised short rib. Everything was delicious and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was amazing and could be described as very “Santa Monica.”
Wonderful NYE early seating! Sorry to see the sushi bar wasn't open but wonderful surprise to see Sushi Chef Frank was on-site and great to say hello! Happy New Year!!
Every time we dine at Catch we look forward to our next visit. Have a cocktail first by the window, open seating, and then at Catch with a window seat at sunset. The menu has something for everyone, of course we always go with the fish.
A perfect spot to dine and watch the sunset. The view is unparalleled. And the cocktails and seafood (sushi and shellfish) were fresh and delicious. Plus the service was on spot. We were well attended and never rushed or interrupted by the waitstaff. Will definitely return.
Most of the food was cold
I so wanted it be great especially since it was Christmas
Worst 350 dollars I have ever spent
Great restaurant, superb attention to detail, fantastic tasting food and outstanding service from valet to waiters!
I would highly recommend for any occasion!
Outstanding special occasion venue with great food, ambiance and exceptional sushi
It was fantastic
We booked birthday dinner — Monday night. When we arrived we were told dining area was being used for private event. So we were placed behind bar on unmade table —which was fine but freezing cold— bring a coat. Our waiter declared he wasn’t really a waiter and knew very little about the menu. We order appetizers (crab cakes and octopus which arrived barely tepid warm, limp and fishy.)The entrees (steaks and lobsters) arrived almost an hour — also barely warm. The lobsters were undercooked. The steak tasted like it was sitting under heat lamp forever—very disappointing. Overall — a real dud. The room was freezing cold. Appetizers and dessert was taken off bill. The poor waiter was very apologetic and, feeling sorry for him I gave home $50 tip.
Management was absent. Recommendation : avoid.
Nice hotel restaurant. Vibrant bar scene. Beautiful views and excellent service.
It’s expensive. Our bill for 4. was $320.00 with two alcoholic drinks - no bottles. With tip you are close to $400 for a meal. Everything I would say was really good - maybe just a bit overpriced relative to other places not on the beach. Good food; not good value. If we had dined 2 hours earlier with the sunset I believe this review would be very different. Plan accordingly.
Had a very nice dinner and celebrated our 18 year Anniversary. Seafood platter was amazing, the grilled Octopus was delicious. I had the Sea bass for my entree and my husband had the Veal chop and both were prepared fabulously. Would go back for sure.
Our service and food were both amazing!!
The food was very good. Our server Jennifer was outstanding. The view of the beach can’t be beat
This is not on par with Catch. Went on a Tuesday and had to ask 3 different ppl to seat us. We had a reservation and it was dead so not sure what happened.
patronizing waiter. no attention to detail. fellow diners were done before my meal came. desert was premade and not interesting. view is great. sushi great. steak over cooked. in many years of dining this was horrific
