Catch - San Francisco
To foster this spirit, the chefs rotate their menus regularly, accommodating seasonal produce and fresh catches of local, sustainably sourced seafood. Each dish showcases these ingredients while incorporating Mediterranean influences and minimalist Californian sensibilities toward composition and presentation.
Since opening in October 2002, Catch is the perfect place to gather for every occasion – handcrafted artisanal cocktails and appetizers at the bar, a cozy romantic dinner for two by the fireplace.

Sat on the patio. Very pleasant. Excellent meal and excellent service.
This is a great place!!! Whatever you order will be wonderful.
Alberto and the staff are excellent!!
Great meal and friendly, prompt service. The indoor patio seating was warm and cozy though a smidge loud. Their Oaxaca Burro cocktail was a bit too sweet but the food was absolutely delicious, all of it.
Exactly what our group wanted: outdoors, great healthy food, great service. The heaters blew a few times (only use the low setting, not the high one) and there were some... unclean... areas nearby on the street. Parklets are a new thing so they're still working out the kinks.
The paella was amazing.
Covid time is a special time, and we appreciated Catch having heated outdoor tables. Moss patrons were more indoor, and we appreciated that the waiter and assistant kept track of us. The food was quite good. We enjoyed the paella, but confess that we had better. The mussels and salmon eaten by others at our table were excellent. I will return when back in SF.
Love this place! The ginger meatballs and mixed seafood grill are my favs...also love how the food always comes out piping hot! Alberto is the best waiter!
It was a nice ambiance but the food was not so great, the music was very loud that I couldn’t even hear my friend sitting across from me. The service was great. Would we go there again probably not.
Go or the Salmon BLT. Outdoor seating on Market was not too noisy.
It was very nice wife enjoyed will be back
Sit at the bar! Fun and friendly bartenders. Chef's special for the night is highly recommend. Entire staff was great.
Alberto is great!! As is the rest of the staff. Food is always consistent and wonderful.
Comfortably crowded. Friendly atmosphere, attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. The paella was almost as good as being in Spain. Highly recommend that dish. Nice choice of sitting inside, or on the covered patio near the fireplace, or outside on the parklet next to a gas heater.
The service was great ! The waiter heard us talk about seat indoor in order to watch COPA final while our original reservation was in the patio. He immediately checked if there was seats available. In addition the food is also good. Highly recommend this place !
Decent food and nice staff! Wine was well priced, food was a bit over. We had a nice time!
Alberto is great! A wonderful experience
Always great food and the best, friendliest service. All dishes excellent.
Catch hits the ball out of the park yet again. When I informed my guest that I selected Catch for dinner, his response was "Perfect. A reliable spot." Indeed it is. Wonderful food and a highly professional team.
I've been coming to Catch for over 10 years on and off.....Sanjay the owner works hard to make sure his customers are happy and well fed...since opening from COVID days and back to dining without masks I have been here twice and really enjoyed myself, as did my friends. Catch is a great asset to the neighborhood, as it feels like home when you return. I'd like more variety in the menu, but everything I order is tasty and well prepared. They have a great bar area too, and the whole vibe is casual and relaxed..it can get lovely and noisy, but it's a tired and true place I enjoy returning to.
Four of us had a great time at dinner. We had a great table by the front window, which was open and had overhead heat lamps, so it was like an indoor-outdoor experience. Food was delicious. Fish was well prepared. I had the short ribs, which I recommend. Service was great. There was some live music in the back. Highly recommend.
As usually, the food, and the service was excellent, and up to the always, great standard at Catch. The Creme Brûlée was exceptional.
Never had a bad meal at Catch. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and efficient. The seafood is fresh and delicious and the prices are very reasonable.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere!!!
Best restaurant in the Castro!
Glad to be back at Catch!
love the fish & tuesday half price wine!
Overall this place is pretty solid.
We were eating a slow paced meal so it seemed they forgot about us here and there but had enough staffing.
Food is always amazing.
I was pretty blown away when they put in the wrong order in and considered leaving one meal at the table while the other person’s meal was going to take more than 15 minutes. So I got heat lamp food, which was still tasty, but they weren’t very happy that we would both like to enjoy our meals at the same time on a date.
Deserts have always been kind of a miss for me here.
Risotto is my favorite.
excellent food, warm attentive service lots of air circulating. loved it
The Catch team defines neighborhood restaurant. The friendliness fits the Castro well.
We are a family of 3 and we come here for special occasions. We always have a very pleasant, relaxing dining experience here. Food is great! Great selection of drinks. Server is always nice! Just a few blocks from our home! Jackpot!!!
Unlike many previous visits, the service was terrible. Our waiter ignored us. We never had our water refilled.
The fish was overcooked and tough. Very disappointing.
Good & Service Great as always !!
The decor is dated. The tables were mysteriously sticky. The cocktails are forgettable. However, the seafood chowder was actually quite good. Grilled salmon over risotto was delicate and refined. The food was better than the ambiance.
Appreciated being allowed to longer in conversation.
Brunch with my out-of-town brother and his lady friend. It was perfect!
Always a great experience! The food is constantly great and the staff are always attentive and enjoyable. The owner is often greeting people as they enter and makes you feel welcome. The prices are reasonable and the wine and cocktails are abundant. This restaurant has been in the Castro for years and continues to remain relevant and fresh. Love, love, love!
Great food. Very delicious.
WAY too noisy for us! Could not hear the pianist, though we were right by her. The band down the street didn't help, either.
Just 4 friends dining out together after a long shelter-in-place. All entries and appetizers were delicious. Will go back soon.
The food and staff were great!! Our waiter was very good!!
