Catch 19 (Red Bank, NJ)
Chilean Sea Bass
We had a party of 4 from appetizers to desert, it was a great meal. The prices are expensive, but if you are willing to spend some money catch is fantastic.
Food was very good. My girlfriend had to return her cocktail 3 times. Piano player refused to play any thing current after I asked nicely and tipped him. I would not go back.
Food was VERY disappointing to say the least. Chicken under the brick was described to be prepared with sweet and hot peppers and crispy potatoes.
We had reservations and were seated as soon as we walked in. The service was excellent and the food was great! The Angry Shrimp & Lobster is a must-try!
the kitchen was ON!!!
Steamed 2 1/2 lb lobster was cooked perfectly.
the Branzino was very good.
West Coast Oysters were very good.
Catch 19! What a fabulous restaurant with some of the best tasting food and specialty drinks!! Service well that’s hands down some of the best, the waiter was very knowledgeable! Can’t wait to get back there! *
Great food, pleasant space, awesome service. This is a real gem! Chef made nice alterations to meal preparation to account for a food allergy. Just a delightful overall experience.
Took wife and grandmother wonderful meal
Not sure how we felt about all the nude art on the walls though
We arrived early and could have been seated right away but my husband and I chose to have a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar, of which there are 2 (we chose the smaller upstairs bar as we were told our table would be upstairs). The hostess came and found us right at our scheduled seating. The tables are a bit close together but a small table between larger tables made for a bit more space around us. Will was our server and he was great, as was the food - we shared their signature “sinister shrimp & lobster”, my husband had the steak and I had the bucatini. Both entrees cooked perfectly to our liking. Would definitely go back!!
My wife ordered the honey glazed salmon and it was done just the way she ordered it. I had the bronzini and it was excellent. We shared the “full of life” salad. The service was very good. We will be back.
As always. Catch 19 is a great dining experience! I highly recommend the lobster and avocado Paris appetizer! We are always welcomed back and our server, Nikki is always very attentive to our food order. Afterwards, their bar is always a great place to have an after dinner drink.
Menu has many options that we will eventually try. Our salad was excellent. Main courses (brick chicken and bucatini lobster) were very tasty and well prepared. Next time we’ll try a fish dish. Desserts were great and huge. Server was fabulous. It is a little pricy and you need to plan for the oversized dishes.
Took my wife out for her birthday , the food and the service were great. I would definitely come back and recommend.
Tables too crowded together. Paid $110 for a porterhouse first two, ordered medium rare, cooked medium. Through no fault of servers the tables were too packed in and she couldn’t serve table well. Had one of seven people who was vegetarian, options very limited and not very good.
Very poor value for $
Was good, waiter was a little out there
Celebrating my daughters anniversary. Was quite disappointed when we realized the chef was still celebrating Valentine’s Day, a day late!
Brought them here for the menu, the full menu.
We have been to Catch 19 several times. The food is always exceptional and the service is great.
Food was delicious. Service was perfect! I will return... soon!
The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in the door to our table service. The only disappointing part was the Lobster avocado Paris was overly salty and the Scallop Entree was too sweet. The Cod however was amazing. On another note , If the manager is walking around the restaurant checking on tables and how their service and food tasting he must then visit every table and not be selective as it comes across as very rude and biased.
We have been there a few times, twice for Valentine's day. This time was time that made us decide not to go back. The food was just okay, was looking forward to their giant Lobsters, but it was available. The food overall was just okay, not great. The wait staff that wasn't our table were so nice, yet our own waiter took forever and seemed like he didn't want to help us. We waited 20 minutes before he even asked us if we wanted drinks, we had waited so long we had to order everything with the drinks.. it was weird. The manage did come over to see if everything was good and I said it was 'okay' and he left. Which was fine, there was nothing to complain about but nothing that was good enough to want to come back. We spent over $200 and it wasn't worth $50.
This was our first visit to Catch 19. We were very happy with everything regarding our dining experience, from easy parking with the valet, seating, service and food. We will be back! Highly recommend!
This was our “Valentines Day” dinner as being in the restaurant and hospitality industry we know better thank to go out on Valentines Day. The was our first time since it was Gotham and the place is beautiful. The menu gives an excellent variety with very fair prices and reasons to come back to try other items. Here is the issue we had. The server gave us the specials and with deciding to go away from the fish and try the Surf n Turf special which sounded great I did. I will tell you the fillet and shrimp/lobster in the spicy sauce was very good. The shocker was when I got the check and I saw the special was $85.00!! Now on the menu the bone-in filet was $48 and boneless was $38 with the turf part being $23 on the menu. I do not even recall a bone being on the steak as it was supposed to be bone in. I think the waitress should of mentioned how much the special were as I would not of ordered it and being in the food industry it was definitely not worth the cost. Because of my background I am always asked for suggestions of where to go and now I know one place to tell them to be where of. I do hope management reaches out. I will add to this if they do.
Superb date spot, wine selection, live music on weekends and one nice menu. Maybe the best pork chop I’ve ever tasted.
Excellent night out, great food, drinks & service, we will definitely be back!
3 for dinner-Our server was great, but the hostess was inexperienced. We had a reservation at 8:30 and we were on time- we were led upstairs to a table that wasn’t ready, were offered a hi top back down stairs, which we declined. Finally seated in the middle of the room with waiters bumping into us. One actually had us switch around our seating arrangement so he could fit by the table. We moved to a side table that opened up after about 15 minutes- we still hadn’t even been asked our drink orders by then. 10 more minutes went by til server, who was apologetic, finally got our drink order which didn’t come for at least 15 more minutes- ugh. 2 out of 3 Drinks were sent back because they were terrible. The candle holder was empty as were the 2 next to us - finally asked a bus boy to get us one that had a candle (led light) in it. Dinner was decent but honestly not worth the hassle of dealing with slow staff and a bad process.
Excellent service,! We had a problem with a food allergy. The waiter and manager were very caring and attentive to the issue. They checked up on us a number of times to make sure everything was fine. The food was fresh and tasty. We will definitely go back again.
Food was delicious, but the server was terrible.. He made the experience very frustrating. What could have been a fantastic night ..Ended on a very sour note. I’ll probably pass going there in the future.
Kevin was outstanding as our waiter . The food was very good and the atmosphere was good as well. The space was a bit crowded but it was a Saturday night in busy red bank. Noise level was good on first floor. Bathrooms located in basement but were clean. Bar service was fast and the drinks were great. Prices elevated as expected in red bank .
It was a great meal for my birthday! Our server Nikki was fantastic!!
Overall good experience. Our waiter Kevin was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, another restaurant that chooses not to provide prices for "specials" when describing them. I suggest you ask - the steak filet with their angry lobster sauce weighed in at $80. Quite a bit more than everything else on the menu.
I had dinner January 28th at 7pm to celebrate my significant other Birthday. The food was amazing my entree was the Sea Bass. His entree the Tuscan Chicken we both had the lobster bisque soup. My after dinner cocktail (Macadamia Martinti) was very good. The service was excellent. The Art work is Outstanding! My only issue I had her wrap the rest of my entree to go which I only had eaten almost half. I was saving my appetite for the after dinner cocktail they never brought my to go bag out. So unfortunate. I was looking forward to having it for my dinner tonight 😞
Trendy Restaurant, nice menu selections & excellent service....
We celebrated my parent’s 50th Anniversary there . The food and service were outstanding . Lucas was our server and he made our night extra special. Even the hostess went above and beyond for us . Catch is a great spot .
Loved our meals and service was spot on
Great food, great service, excellent drink selections - perfect date night
The atmosphere and food were both very good, however, our server was lacking any enthusiasm and seemed completely bored. I don't generally care for a server who is too chatty, but he never cracked a smile! It was our first time dining at Catch 19 and we were asking for descriptions of the dishes and sauces as the menu lacked those details, which is OK. However, he provided very little info or detail. Additionally, we were seated in the front room, across from the hostess desk. I'm not sure what was going on, but we heard the constant banging of something like an electric stapler throughout our entire meal. It's worth another try, but I hope the wait staff and hostess staff show a greater appreciation for the guests next time around.
We love Catch 19 and frequent. Consistently good and love when they have the piano player!
Nice dining experience
We tried the signature shrimp dish over linguini and it was so spicy that it was almost inedible
We ate the shrimp but the sauce was so spicy it burnt my lips
