Great staff, venue and ambiance. Food was fresh and presentation was great! I definitely recommend

Service was great, but you can tell is limited staff .
But I would 100% recommend this restaurant and come back to it.

More than one hour wait with reservation made, our table was next to the kitchen and all the smoke was coming over to us.
Service was poor and rude.

Made a reservation for four at 6:45 and still had to wait outside for thirty minuets while we saw at least two larger parties get seated before us. Portions of food were a lot smaller than I remember which in my opinion make it hard to justify the price point for an entrée at $30 or more when the amount of food you’re getting resembles an appetizer. Although the waitstaff was very friendly the noise level inside made it where we had to almost yell out our order and to each other across the table just to have a conversation. If you’re in your early 20s and you want a night out just to post all over Instagram then this is your place, if you’re looking for quality food that’s worth the price then respectfully you’re better off looking elsewhere.

We had a reservation and they wouldn’t let us into the restaurant, we had to wait in a long line outside in the cold while they let certain groups in right as they arrived who had relationships with the door people. I asked if we would be seated soon and the man was extremely rude to me and didn’t offer any timeline. We were on time for the reservation but didn’t get seated for 45 mins with not even as much as an apology. If you miss the days of standing in front of a club and being denied/ ignored this is for you. We got inside and it was the usual (precovid) atmosphere which was nice but the menu was much smaller and more expensive. $37 for appetizer sized portions. Food was good but ended up being $600 for 4 people... it was far from an experience that should cost that much. Extremely extremely disappointed.

May have been one of the most memorable dining experiences of my lifetime. The A5 presentation was on point. The MRC roll was phenomenal. I don’t even remember the name of the chocolate cake dessert with the ganache but it should be illegal (in a good way). Server knew the menu and made great recommendations. Kudos to the whole team. They killed it.

We weren’t seated for over an hour and 15 min. They sat us in the bar area first I think to try and pad our bill before we were seated. Asked the hostess for a better table and instead of accommodating us she became belligerent. We left and had a great dinner at Mr. Chow Tribeca.

Service was fantastic, as was the food. Just make it a special occassion -- as we did -- as it is incredibly expensive.

It was a very pretty restaurant however it seemed very obvious that they were only interested in up selling and scratching out every dollar.
There were only three entrées on the menu. The rest are small plates that were just as expensive as the entrées.
The waiter suggestion was to get the waygu beef so I could cook it on a hot stone however when it came, the delivery person didn’t give me the chance - he cooked it for me and wasn’t listening to me say stop. The waiter also suggested the lobster mashed potatoes as great.
I thought they would be mashed potatoes with lobster in it. However it turned out to be this orangey old bay tasting kind of mashed potato it wasn’t very good at all and they cost $20.
The small plates are so tiny and the desserts are huge and I think they were $17 for dessert. I think if I was going there again I would just get an entrée and an appetizer. Because getting a few small plates for each of us created an astronomical bill. The food wasn’t as good as it was in the waiters minds.

Travel in family

Literally rushed us in and out.. They put us at a children’s table where we barley fit with the whole plexiglass wall they created. My boyfriend is 6’2 and barley fit at the two person table. When a restaurant is charging $21 for 4 incredibly small pieces of crispy rice you’d think they’d be able to afford some tables people fit at. We were there from 6:45-8:15, when the reservation ended and they brought the check without even asking if we wanted anything else... at exactly 8:15...it was our anniversary, we couldn’t even get dessert. We were just pumped in and out of this place. Would’ve much rather spent the money at a mom and pop. Food was good nothing insane. We got two drinks each which was insane to me... It’s was a Saturday night clearly looking to have more fun. Our food came out before our drinks. 2/10 maybe it’s better when a pandemic isn’t around but i doubt it. This place seems so typical they just wanna get as many people in and out because they know each bill no matter if you drink or not will be $300+.

Catch never disappoints!
This was our 3rd time here and when we had come before, we felt the drinks weren’t their strong point....seems they took note and improved TREMENDOUSLY!
We did our favorite MRC roll along with lobster Mac n cheese to start. DELISH as usual.
Entree’s were the filet and snapper, both scrumptious (though just a touch salty on the lobster mash that came with the snapper).
Our waitress Raven was a joy, light hearted, fun and attentive.
We then treated ourselves to the special dessert which was 3 gorgeously colored chocolate eggs filled with a hazelnut mouse.
I took a picture and we were even more delighted to see how gorgeous it was!
Top notch on everything, Catch....thank you again!!

I haven’t been to Catch in years and remember really liking it and wanted to try it I again for a special occasion date night. It did not disappoint! The area is cool, trendy with cobble stone streets and parking was easy to find - a block away on street $11 for 2 hours. We started with the grilled octopus, which was tender and delicious and an Easter special-an Alaskan king crab roll which blew me away, I’ve never had anything like it. I had the lamb chops which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. It came with asparagus which were just like every other asparagus I’ve tasted but my date had the filet mignon and that was pure bliss. Cooked perfectly and with so much flavor! The dessert was another Easter special and were 3 gold covered chocolate eggs that were to mimic a Ferrero Rocher candy and they sure did! Great ending to the best meal I’ve had in a while! I’ve read reviews that the service wasn’t great but from the time we walked in to our dealings with our waitress, we were pleased and happy with the hospitality, willingness to answer questions and attention we were given. 10 out of 10.

Don't come SUPER hungry, portions are quite small :) Definitely worth going with a group and order a bunch of things to split. Great vibe, amazing service.

From the service to food. It was definitely a good vibe. I tried the artic char, snapper, lobster mashed potatoes and broccolini.

The snapper was really good.

ALL THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Let me start out by saying that first. With that being said, I don't think the amount of food you get for the price listed is worth it. I'm telling myself it was priced that way because the fish is extremely fresh and the cuts of steak are so tender but I think the price you pay, is because it's downtown near Gansevoort. The place is beautiful. It was decorated with flowers and leaves, making it feel very spring like. I loved that my table was ready as soon as I got there. My friend also said she liked the food so we'd come back but only for the things we really enjoyed.

Very cool, the tuna rice cakes tasted a lot like fish. Plates are way too small, therefore way too expensive for the amount of food with not the best quality. Will come back prepared next time. Overall good experience
