Like TGIFRIDAYS without the service but better, but not great food
The food is really good, and the service top!
It is my sixth visit to catch but it was the First for my family, the food and the service were excellent. The recipient was rude and not up to the restaurant level unlike the the waiter and lady who seated us both were super nice.
Food was delicious but from the second we walked in the door, the staff was very rude. There were 2 bartenders and only 3 people ordering and then there was my friends and I and the bartenders ignored us for at least 3 minutes before we could order. Then we finally get our drinks and the bartender only made 2 when there were 4 of us and said they “didn’t hear the rest of our drinks” (place isn’t that noisy and 3 of us ordered the same thing). We sit down at our table and we order a bunch of food to share only to have the waiter come back and tell us that they’re out of 3 things we ordered after 15 minutes passed. Then we order something new, and the waiter comes back to tell us they’re also out of that. This happened 3 times.... again the food was delicious (what we got of it) but I was extremely disappointed with the service.
Good, but average. A little expensive for what it offers.
Great experience sitting outside with a fantastic waitress. Great food as always, and definitely recommend the “hit me” direct.
Súper energetic vibe, with high quality food. Great for dates.
I was 1 minute too late speaking to the maitre d and they cancelled my reservation because of this. I was annoyed because I was in the restaurant just behind someone waiting to check in before my reservation window was cancelled, yet they still didn't care. It was clear from my reservation that this was a birthday reservation and they still wouldn't work with me.. all over 1 minute. Very disappointed.
Not worth the hype I would never come back to this restaurant. Hostess was rude and food was not good. Way overrated.
Food was amazing! We opted to share and had the gnocchi, the crispy chicken on bao buns and the wagyu gyoza. Great variety, so flavorful
Expensive foods and OK for nothing, OK service
I think one of the server may have asked us for our table out of nowhere 😂
My guest wasn't happy about that 😂
Seating hostess ruined the night
We love Catch and frequent the restaurant often. Our fish was small this time around and less veggies that We are used to from former visits
Very disappointed with my dining experience brunch at Catch. The service was probably the worst I have seen for a restaurant that charges $25 for a side of fries. There were 2 waiters on staff for the whole restaurant. One food order just never showed up. They were out of half the items on the menu. Do not waste your money.
Our reservation was for 11:15. We were not seated until 11:50. When the hostess walked us to our table, there was a dirty napkin and menu in the seat. I asked was someone going to get these items prior to us sitting down, and her response was ‘you can just pass them to me’. I advised her this should be taken care of prior to us being walked to our seats. She rolled her eyes. The best part of the evening was our server.
Wait was so long
Staff was rude
Justin Lara was no help. Offered business Card and phone number and then walked away. Definitely not worth it!
After we made reservations almost a week in advance, they made us wait 1hr... we decided not to wait anymore, talked to the hostess and left to a mexican place next door (5 stars for them). Hostess didnt care we were going to leave. Cool place but overcrowded and rude
Loved it. Looking forward to going next time
My food was delicious! The crispy shrimp were a bit too spicy for me but still fresh. And the lobster Mac and cheese was decadent. Very friendly service.
Aside from the delicious food - our experience was a disappointment ! Catch must have the reputation to make people wait 45-60 mins for their table even when you have a reservation- because the Catch in LA does exactly the same thing. Super annoying! However god forbid you are late for your reservation because they will give your table away in a heartbeat! Our server was a dingbat- she hardly came and checked on us and the dirty plates kept piling up on the table. We were a party of 6 and we were crammed into a table as it was. I heard the owner of Catch came and even kicked some people out of their tables because “he needed them” and they weren’t finished with their meal! Don’t go here- not worth it! So many other great places in NYC to eat and drink at.
It was the worst experience. With a confirmed reservation it took them 50 mins to seat us. The food quality was just ok. I am never going there again
My waitress was LOVELY and super attentive and collaborative all evening. Unfortunately, the hostesses at reception were incredibly rude. We had made a reservation for 8:30, but didn't get seated until close to 9:15, not due to a lack of open tables. Plenty of vegan options, which we always appreciate, but the gnocchi was straight sugar and felt like dessert.
Awesome scene and excellent food.
Great food. Terrible service.
Amazing! Overall everything was perfect. Catch never lets down.
Waited a little more that expected to be seated. Once seated on the rooftop level our experience with our server exceeded expectations. He was very aware and knowledgeable of all dishes and ingredients as well as the wine. The food was phenomenal!
Waited 45 minutes for table because electronic buzzer device was faulty
Speedy and delicious
Terrific ambience and service!
Service was horrible starting with hostess. Thereafter poor.
I came here to celebrate my birthday because this restaurant had been recommended to me by many in the city and I wanted to try it. I was completely disappointed. Very dark, loud, small portions of mediocre expensive food and our waiter was barely attentive. Such a bummer of a birthday dinner. Save your money and go somewhere else and if you do go, don’t order the lobster Mac n cheese because the noodles in it weren’t even cooked and it’s more breadcrumbs than lobster or pasta.
Had a reservation for three. Put at a table that had the A/C blowing -- and I mean blowing -- on us from above. Lots of hoopla to get the hostesses (there were 3 of them, for some reason) to ask the manager to turn it down. Two of our meals arrived but the third arrived 20 minutes later -- and after we approached the manager again about the delay. Too much hustle bustle with not much accomplished.
Had the chicken sandwich with egg. Bun was very greasy, chicken was fairly good, all in all a little greasy. Skipped dessert as we simply wanted to get out of there. Not a very satisfactory dining experience, unfortunately.
Didn’t like that I had reservations and still waited 30 mins
I arrived a few mins past the 15 minute window that is allotted, due there being one elevator working. I got upstairs I was told there were 9 tables ahead of me. To this was very inconsiderate of my time. I waited an hour past my reservation time. This has definitely discouraged me to never dine with catch again. The hostess and the maitre d should have taken into consideration that only one of your restaurants elevators was down. By the time I was done with dinner BOTH elevators had stopped working. Terrible experience overall.
The service was abysmal. We had a reservation and an hour after we checked in they still had not seated us. There were plenty on empty tables on floors 2 and 4 (i did not go to 3) and they told us it was reserved for “special customers”. I understand busy restaurants need some time to turn over the tables. But an hour with no offer of a free drink or a free appetizer while we wait is ridiculous. The mater-di were blatantly rude to the both of us. After an hour and a half of waiting, we left to find another restaurant
The catch was great. Fun, hip, good food, the good vibe... However, the waiting time was long even though our reservation was at 8 pm (our group arrived at 8:12 pm), but we sat almost @ 9 pm. Also, for 6 people, the round table next the bar was too loud to have any conversation and too tight between the next table to the waitress prep table. It was kind of disappointing how they managed to allocate the tables even though I asked another table, but didn't seem really care.
Great food, great service, our wait staff was friendly and awesome and the hit me dessert was the beeeesssssttttt just too noisy for me
Delish!...waiter Luigi was super attentive and knowledgeable...food topped it off...
