Favorite place in town
Always delicious food & great atmosphere. First time out on the rooftop and it was great for my early birthday dinner date!
We loved it! It is expensive but totally worth it! The food was incredible, and the bar has its own signature cocktails.
Food was pretty good. Nice atmosphere. Service was poor. Very non-attentive. They knew we were trying to get their attention merely for salt and pepper, and that was like an act of Congress. When we walked out, not one person acknowledged us or thanked us. They (servers, hostess), were too busy eating their own food. Would not go back due to poor service- they are way too many excellent places to eat in NYC.
See and be seen ambiance. Food is overpriced unfortunately.
Catch is a restaurant created with intention. The food is made with love, the servers are professional and friendly, the drinks and desserts are very creative. A wonderful spot. My experience at Catch has being wonderful. Highly recommended. Try the cookies if you go for dinner. lobster roll, mushroom spaghetti, whole fish and the sushi are excellent. have everything!
My friend and I went to Catch because she desperately wanted to try some kind of sushi with truffles—a combo of her two favorite foods. We’re college students though. We went knowing we’d be trying to buy “cheaper” items on the menu. As soon as it was clear we were each only ordering one item our server disregarded us, which is kind of disappointing. Besides that, the drinks and the food were top notch. The restaurant itself is a great environment. I’d go back.
It was amazing! Great vibes and good food.
I hate when they serve me like they do not care if I go back or Not! If my view of the food they serve me matters to them or not! Food is quite expensive, the service expensive and the way to treat me is impossible!!!! Wow
I’ve been to the Catch many times and always had a great experience but today was truly disappointing - 1) instead of being seated in the restaurant we were seated in the club which has a totally different vibe 2) apparently the floor we were sitting on turned into a club at 10.30pm which we were never told in advance 3) food was rushed just to get us out as quickly as possible 4) airco was turned on so high that everyone was freezing.
Overall terrible experience, don t think I ll return.
It was great !
The food was amazing a little overpriced but really yummy
The minute you get there, they make you feel rushed... I go to a restaurant with the expectation to enjoy my meal, not feel rushed.... “Kitchen is closing, hurry up and order..” “you guys gotta leave because there are more people coming..”. It was a Saturday, we went for a late lunch and it was just a horrible experience. I very seldom write reviews but this place’s service is ridiculous. For the prices they charge, I want to order without being rushed, and I DO NOT WANT TO BE KICKED OUT in order to make way for other customers. Their explanation was: “well, we have to change the service to dinnertime...”. They need to understand that this is not my problem. If they are gonna change the service, they should do it in such a way that it does not disturb the customer... especially on a freaking saturday in the middle of the day! I am not there to help them or make their life easier.... it is the other way around.... also - we ordered a bunch of plates after being rushed and 5 minutes later they cram our table with all of them at the same time.. ridiculous.
The service was absolutely horrific. We had reservations at 10:30 and weren’t seated for another hour and a half. No one came to attend us throughout the dinner. We had to ask for different waiters to reorder drink. Food was brought out way before our drinks. The hostesses had a very bad attitude and approach to guests, and they did not look like they wanted to attend anyone. Management team needs to resolve that.
Waiter was rude. Took over 30 minutes to get our drinks from the time we sat down. I only ordered one of certain items and he rang it up for everyone at table , so I ordered one steak, he brought two. Very loud.
Restaurante meio balada tivemos a sorte de sentar la no rooftop! Comida excelente!
The food was just ok. But let’s start with being seated. The main dining area was wide open many open tables but we were taken to the 2nd undesirable level next to open kitchen, spot cooler and many odors. We requested to be reseated in main dining area and came to the conclusion we did not look hip and trendy enough for the hostess to have seated us there from the beginning. Found that annoying. Now on to the food. It was just ok. The sauces had similar taste profiles and were all heavy and cloying. We tried truffle infused hamachi delicious but sauce way to heavy for a delicate dish. Eggplant and fillet skewers tasty. Octopus tender but again a very heavy sauce that detracted. Drinks tasty but infused with so many taste profiles they bordered on tasting a bit medicine like. This is not a repeat based on food and price. So many other fantastic restaurants in NYC try them, avoid this one.
Great food , great service - will definitely be back!
I have been to Catch multiple times and the food never disappoints. Ceviche, Tuna rice cakes, octopus, Chix bao bums all delish! The atmosphere is vibrant but very tough to have a conversation at a round table for 5. I highly recommend bar dining for a group of two.
I hate that the outdoor dining is run via separate hostess so you have to go upstairs to find out wait times and back downstairs to the bar to wait. Very innefficient. Also guessing the crowds for outdoor dining are driving the need for people to walk up the service entrance stairs to indoor dining while reserving elevator for roof access.
Food was excellent and there was a lively atmosphere that contributed to the excitement of our own evening.
Staff was rude, made sarcastic jokes, it felt like we were disturbing their precious time with our unimportant requests. Portions are too small, I do not expect half chicken on the plate in such restaurant, but my two male friends after eating one starter and one main dish, had to order another main, because they were still feeling hungry.
Loved it - it's packed with people and the food is outstanding. It's a bit loud so its definitely not the place fr a romantic dinner for two. Will definitely go there again
Great place for a birthday or anniversary. The place is too loud though.
The food was amazing! Loved the tacos, sushi and dessert! Congrats and happy 7th anniversary!!!
Food was Amazing!! Service was absolutely negligent. Although everyone looks “beautiful “ they should be good at their job. Would only go back for the excellent food!
Always a great dining experience and a great place to take clients who are looking for a great food/atmosphere evening. Catch always delivers and last evening was another positive experience
I love Catch, I always bring my team here for work lunches and friends for dinner and drinks. The food is amazing, especially the crispy shrimp, but I miss the pretzel bread they used to have. Drinks are good and fairly strong. The staff is on point.
The food and cocktails was outstanding, nice and quick service
I went there with my sister and we just love the dishes and the place is so cool there was excelente service as well
Ok, I am not from NYC, but I rely in Open Table for reservations. And this place doesn’t take reservations. This is the truth. I arrived 15’ before the time of my reservation (which was very late - 10:00pm on a Sunday!) and waited for 1 hour to get seated. The reservation at Open Table only allows you to get a token upon arrival and then you are together with the crowd waiting for the next available table. Unacceptable! Open Table should not partner with this restaurant. Food is good, but not enough for me to consider coming back. NEVER AGAIN!
Had a great meal on great Sunday
We had the spicy shrimp and the Catch Roll. The shrimp was good. Did not like the Catch Roll. It tasted torched and it is which I didn’t like. If you like a super burnt taste you will enjoy it. It was expensive for what we ordered. As much as I liked the ambiance I wish the food lived up to the Experience.
Hostess' were a bit disorganized and all wanting to call the shots. Even with a reservation on a rainy afternoon looking at many empty tables we were told to wait at the bar while they sorted out the table. Then had to close out the tab, not transferable to the table which delayed sitting. The kitchen has their act together as the food is always excellent!!!
Very cool atmosphere and ambiance. The food was amazing!
If it wasn’t for our lovely waiter, we would not have stayed. The hostess at arrival was rude and unbecoming. We have never been treated like that and I understand they may have been busy on a Saturday night but there is never a reason to be so rude to customers. The food was good (not excellent) as were the drinks. Thank you, however, to our lovely waiter as he was the reason we had such a good night.
Made reservations for birthday dinner and arrived late so our table was dropped-understandable because we were late but I did call to them we were running behind and going to arrive staff member said nothing could be done. Upon arriving they told me to go to the other floor where they have tables that are self serve seating, found a couple that were getting their check and they even had us sit with them to secure the table that's when a waitress came over and said that the particular table was reserved meanwhile in the dining room a table sat completely empty the whole entire night but couldn't be offered for some mysterious reason. That's what you get for going to these pretentious restaurants in the meat packing district. We ended up staying b/c by that time everywhere would have been a wait-bar food was good but staff made it unpleasant would it kill them to smile and act like they like what they do!
Great food. Great server. Good energy would def come back w a crew of buddies
Good was delicious, servers were pleasant . How ever rushed although more than half of the restaurant was empty... barely had a drink before the waiter asked to take our order. We were still enjoying appetizers when dinner was brought out and didn’t clear dirty appetizer dishes. In and out in under an hour...
Great dinner. Everything was great from the drinks to the appetizers to the entrees. Will definitely go back.
