First time there. Will go back.
Loved the view!! Crab legs were delicious and the ambiance quite nice...
I ordered the linguine vongole. I love garlic but there was just too much garlic in there and some of the clam shells had broken off so when I chewed my pasta I kept getting bits of shell which wasn’t pleasant. My glass of 6oz BC wine was rather pricey at $11. Everyone else’s food was good and ingredients nice and fresh. Service was great.
Friendly hosts, ok waiter , pear salad had virtually no pears this time .. a couple of 1 cm pieces maybe ( we’ve had it before) and the dressing was brought to us a few min after we started salad. Crab cakes were ok; the carbonara was better than the previous time.
The BC Pinot was so so..not a lot of flavour.
Lovely view etc.
Previously went for lunch, the food and service was excellent.
Went for dinner but had poor food experience.
Ordered a cream of mushroom soup and tasted sour. Asked server to find out what ingredients were used and how it was made and the response from kitchen was "we served a lot of the mushroom soup today". Seemed to avoid that there was an obvious issue with the soup.
Ordered a clam chowder as replacement and it was overly salty.
Atmosphere saved the overall experience with the view of the village and water.
We dined on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not even half full. There appeared to be a lot of staff. Our server rolled their eyes and sighed as taking our order. The food took over an hour to come. It was our first and last time there unfortunately. Next time we will go to Blue Canoe below.
I have already let a number of my friends and co-workers know how much I enjoy going to the catch to ead.
Lovely food, best seat on the deck and good friends. Life is great.
Kitchen very slow
Main courses / entrees were very underwhelming. I had to send my dish back, it was very overcooked and a flattened (??) piece of halibut. Came back as almost completely different dish, better, but still not great. All seafood dishes we had were slightly to very overcooked, disappointing for a self described seafood restaurant! Stuffed mushrooms were good, and so where the tequila lime prawns. Id stick to appetizers and share plates here, skip the main dishes all together!!
Friends from Australia wishing to have good food, a good view at good value were not disappointed.
Thank you Faheeze & Joselyn at the Catch for your special attention for us on a lovely Sunday summer evening!
It took so long to get our drinks, the food also got so late to prepare. It was a disappointing experience, and overall I don’t recommend this restaurant.
Visitors from out of town
Delicious food, great view but service was not great and the bathrooms were a mess.
Really great food, the spicy shrimp appetizer is a must try! Service is excellent and who wouldn't like a water view while dining!
We will definitely be back again!
It was an all around great experience.
We arrived early for our reservation but were seated right away. The server was pleasant and attentive. The view of the water from the restaurant was incredible and the crispy chicken sandwich didn’t disappoint.
Lovely summer day, great friends, water view and terrific food: what could be better. Lunch at Catch.
I have eaten at the Catch on many occasions and the service and food has always been excellent
Fabulous views, and the service was wonderful, the waitress understood that one of my elderly guests couldn't sit at the high tables on the patio so made sure that we had a low table.
Canada Day at the Catch: they honoured our reservation with patio view of Steveston and all of its festivities. Compliments to the chef who made one of the best burger in town. Smoked for crisp patty edge to seal in the flavour. The patrons next to us ordered 2 burgers each! The warm seafood salad hit the “clean & lean” spot with scallops, prawns, mussels and fish morsel. It wasn’t overloaded with potatoes as fillers. Our server was attentive and our glasses were refilled without asking. Despite being the busiest day of the long weekend, we were not rushed and had a wonderful time!
Great food. Awesome server who got our small tables order in before other large tables!!
One of our family favorites! However on this occasion, a Tuesday evening 7:00, the service was terribly slow. Our server was too busy tending bar & waiting tables. It took a long time just to get a bottle of wine. Sure hope it's better next time!
I think the server forgot the last minute order — she just said that kitchen was busy... it took more than 45 mins — i think that’s far too long of a wait for just a burger.
The variety of food was good. We started with the mussels as an appetizer and they had a spice that made them different than the usual however the presentation plate was a bit small which made it difficult to get to the broth. Our party of 3 had the jambalaya, one piece of fish ‘n’ chips and a few more appetizers as an entree, crab cakes and calamari. They were all delicious but the calamari could have been cooked a little more. Overall we had a good experience.
The view is wonderful, the service consistently good and attentive and the food is always delicious Chef Daniel is brilliant with sourcing local and fresh! His culinary expertise delivers His daily specials are always reasonably priced and delicious !!
Lovely location, good food choices and we were not rushed. Very relaxing and the view is next to none.
Brought my aunt here who was visiting from out of town! The seafood was delicious (huge prawns and scallops), good portions, and a beautiful view with dinner! :) she loved her experience!
We ordered the halibut and the steak. Both were perfectly cooked and served with rice and vegetables.
We sat on the patio, enjoying the sunshine and view. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely one of my favourite Steveston Restaurants.
Unfortunately we waited a very long time to receive our food and when we mentioned to the waitress that we were unhappy about how the food was overdone, she made an excuse saying the kitchen was very busy today and that can happen. A waitress/waiter should never come up with an excuse in regards to an issue the customer has. They need to address the issue with the appropriate people. I was very unhappy with this restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone.
We were next to a large group of women, who were extremely loud. That really put a damper on our dinner. Otherwise it was excellent. The citrus crusted salmon was amazing!
patio was great! service was excellent, steak was nothing to rave about but my husbands seafood linguine was good
Service was terrible. Servers and staff looked bored and stood around chatting.
Girls’ night out.
Great bar and restaurant with excellent service and a view to die for!
Nice atmosphere with a great view of Steveston Pier. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. Food was great too.
Food took over an hour to arrive, with no updates or apologies from the server. At least when the food did come, it was hot. View is awesome but doesn't make up for the poor communication.
The service was very very slow and the waiter did not pay to much attention to us.
Some of the food items ordered were good but some of them were not that great.
Always a treat, and what a beautiful day to enjoy the river view!
Thank you for making our mothers day celebration delicious and delightful. :)
