Catch 35 - Naperville Ratings and Reviews
Highly recommend for service and quality of fresh, inventive dishes. Our server was personable, attentive and knowledgeable. Very accommodating and complimentary staff from host to wait staff/bussers.
My only suggestion is to place a short separator wall between table directly in front of kitchen access area since it can be busy and distracting.
Started off with the oysters and they were very good my wife had a cocktail which she said was good we shared a ribeye which was big enough to share and it was good but nothing to special we also ordered a braised hash which was very good and finally for dessert we shared a key lime pie which also was nothing special. The waitress was nice but didn’t come around enough but the evening and ambiance was good enough for a return visit.
The all you can eat fish fry was excellent! It reminded me of the old fashion fish fries I grew up-going to when I was a kid in to 50’s and 60’s. When they where popular all year long on Friday’s. The service was terrific and our waiter was fantastic as always!
What a great place to spend Valentine's Day! This place reminds me of the many wonderful seafood places in Boston. I had the Maryland crab cakes, which were delicious, and came with some great veggies. My husband had the best lobster roll he's found since our last trip to Maine. Our server, Emilio, was perfect: plenty of attention without hovering. And the best part was that the bill wasn't as big as I thought it would be.
We expected a little higher level of service and quality of food. Staff was friendly, but missing some of the essential skills for service. Our table was not ready even though we had reservations. It took three requests to get water. Then the ceiling started to leak over the table next to us from the salon above. Buckets were used but my husband and the couple at the table next to us had to look at the dripping and buckets all through our meals. As we left, I suggested to the hostess that the other couple should have their meal compt. Hope she followed through. It was Valentine’s Day so a little extra care might have convinced some of us new to 35 to return.
Our server Lisa was fantastic. Best service anyone could ask for. Especially great at watching over us without being intrusive. Food was great and we really liked the Decor and the very low noise level.
We will be back (but only if we can have Lisa take care of us😀)
No doubt, it is expensive. Lovely restaurant. Food is superb. Wish they still had live music but by cutting it can squeeze in more tables. The corner tables are very dark. Good for dates, not good for reading menus. Restaurant week prix fixe was very much appreciated. Also substitutions were allowed. I don’t eat sugar so I got soup- salad- entree instead of soup- entre- dessert. Strange but they brought the salad with other’s desserts. European? LOL. All the food was excellent. I wish I could afford more than a few times a year! Bravo.
Our server, Brent, was attentive and not overbearing. Both of us opted for one of the Prix Fix items offered the last night of restaurant week. Our food was served hot and we never felt hurried. In addition to evening dining at the Naperville location we have also enjoyed their brunches. The service is always great and the food is equally delicious.
The service, and the food was excellent. I was quite surprised by the low amount of noise for the volume of people in the room. We could see everyone talking and laughing but the room seemed quite. The ambience is the best of any restaurant it's size. Definitely will go there again.
The experience was not memorable. It was good, but nothing special. Like a factory. The Priz Fixe menu price basically got you a free dessert... That's it. The clam chowder had a rock in it, almost broke my teeth if I had chewed more carelessly . I am so sad Kuma's Thai Fusion closed across the street. Never disappointed. Never. My favorite restaurant in Naperville for the last 5 years. Please come back.....
Unfortunately it was Saturday night and restaurant week so it was quite crowded and bustling. Cocktails took quite a while. Service was fairly slow. Food ($33 special for Restaurant week) was subpar, definitely well below Catch 35 normally excellent food. Will avoid times like this in the future but it was a Birthday celebration for two of our party of four.
We came for a restaurant week meal for Saturday lunch.
We began our lunch with a perfect lemon drop cocktail and a beer . We both had the Caesar salad to start– very good! For entrees, one of us had the fillet mignon and the other had the Ecuadorian Mahi-Mahi. Both were delicious! We ended the meal with dessert and coffee - key lime pie and a chocolate lava cake both were decadent.
As usual the food at catch 35 is always top notch and we weren't disappointed, the restaurant menu with a great value as well.
It was the first time My family and I experienced catch 35. It was the first time visiting (with my family) we didn’t know what to expect. We got to the restaurant early and the host made me and my family feel uncomfortable, she didn’t smile, she abruptly answered my question then ignored me. But after we were seated the waiter was awesome, he was super friendly. And the rest of the staff was attentive to the table. I’m definitely going back :)
I love Catch 35 and their Scallops over a prime rib & Portobello hash is one of the best entrees in the city! I had that again and my wife had a Haddock dish that nothing short of amazing either.
This visit was as great as it always is with world class service (Zac was perfect!) and, in my opinion, Michelin star worthy entrees. If you haven't been...don't wait...go tonight!
I have been to the downtown Chicago location before and wanted to bring my wife for her birthday to experience their increddible food they have to offer. They had restaurant week menu together with the normal menu and great value for money.
From the time we sat down the waiter did not rush us to get through dinner and clear the table for the next guests. Great evening out and will be coming back for tasty food in the near future.
