Cesar salad was well prepared but the fish was dry and over cooked.... over powering bacon flavoring which, under normal circumstances is welcome but that was all you could taste of the dish
The Chilean Sea Bass was the best I have ever had.
Catch 35 is always a special date night place because it's expensive. But, they never disappoint! Food is always amazing ad is their service.
Fish was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent as usual. They always honor our reservation, which is important because we love to go there before a play.
Food is always good. Server was a bit rude on this occasion.
Food was ok. Fish a bit under cooked and blackened dishes underwhelming. Service excellent.
The food is delicious, many choices for sea food and non seafood. Everything is made fresh when ordered. Will definitely visit again.
We had no expectations going in and only chose the restaurant due to proximity to the theater, but we were blown away by how great everything was! There were so many great options on the menu - seafood dishes from around the world and plenty of non-seafood options too. The szechuan scallops were probably my favorite but I really enjoyed the shrimp pad thai too! We will definitely make this a regular stop whenever we’re in downtown Chicago!
The food and the service were fine. But I was very surprised that the maitre d’ couldn’t find our reservation in the system. Another staff member said it was because some of our party had already arrived. I would think the system would keep the reservation until all the party had arrived. I tried to call them just before the time of the reservation to say I might be late, but the maitre d’ couldn’t find our reservation.
Took my daughter for her birthday. Just loved it. The food was fantastic and the server was wonderful. Carlos we WILL be back and ask for you. : )
Loved Catch 35. The whole evening was perfect and really nice for our date night out. We both loved our meals, very attentive service and just an overall wonderful night.
Lovely space; correct, attentive but not smothering service and excellent seafood.
Great place for dinner before the theater Due to its location.
I return to Catch 35 almost annually when in Chicago for a business conference. Year after year this stellar seafood restaurant does not disappoint, from appetizers to mains, everything was prepared perfectly with great service. Highly recommend.
The waiters and bus boys were very on top of things. The minute I finished my meal they took the plate away. This was impressive but it felt a bit rushed because of that, like they wanted to get us out of there quickly.
the food was phenomenal and the service was very exceptional as well.
My dinner was excellent. And my server was great. The tuna sashimi was delicious.
Shelia the server was professional and attentive. The food was well prepared and tasteful.
Food was good, but we felt very rushed. Appetizers and salads/soup came out within 2 minutes of each other, and entrees came out 5 minutes later.
The food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely dine there again and recommend to friends.
Great location for a pre-theater dinner in downtown Chicago. Our server even suggested that we could leave our take-home boxes for pick-up after the theater.
We stopped for a business lunch, the atmosphere and The service was great, so was the food.
The salmon entrée offered for lunch was better years ago than it is in present day - what happened? Disappointed the salmon lunch dish was lacking. However, the customer service was good and the wait staff is attentive to diners' needs - nothing lacking with the wait staff and we were satisfied our waiter.
Catch 35 is one of our favorite Chicago restaurants. We tend to dine here before or after the theater. Great service always! Very tasteful food.
My spouse and I dined here after a show at the Cadillac Palace on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was excellent... very attentive, knowledgeable and personable. Food was extraordinary! I had the Chilean Sea Bass (tender and flavorful!) and my husband had the Beef Tenderloin Medallions (melted in your mouth and seasoned beautifully!) What a great dining experience! Will definitely return... thank you!
I chose Catch 35 for my birthday and it was in walking distance of my hotel. Worth the walk and experience. They really impressed me with everything once me and my friends arrived. Highly recommend checking this place out.
We greatly enjoyed the food. It was a Saturday night, and we arrived at 8pm, so it was a bit busy, and most of the better tables were taken, but we managed. overall very nice though. Our server was wonderful. Will be back.
The food was not only amazing but the service was also exceptional. Everything was so quick and thorough.
We were referred here by a Chicago native while visiting for the weekend. While the starters were delicious, we had the clam chowder and crab cakes. Our entrees were definitely not worth the money. My wife had the lobster and filet, she was not impressed at all. The lobster was salty and the filet was tough.
Went before theatre and three of us enjoyed the Pre-Fixe menu. Seafood was good and plentiful portions. We did not however like that the oysters we ordered as an appetizer came after our entrees came. We were still charged for those and did not think we should have been. the food was good as was the wine but service was really unattentive. Never saw our severe much after he took our order....
Waiter was A+. Food was a solid A. Our only complaint was that our soup came 2 seconds after our cocktails - we had no chance whatsoever to enjoy the cocktails.
Great place before a show in the theater district.
Great waitstaff. Food was fine. Small portion sizes.
The food and the service just everything is wonderfull,it's our favorite restraunt!
WE really enjoyed our meal at Catch35. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary with a night out in Chicago. WE were early for our reservation, but they seated us right away. The waitress was great. Very attentive! Our food was delicious. The noise level was ok, since we were seated away from the band. Very nice atmosphere.
Went here for dinner before a show at the Chicago theater. Great wait staff, food was outstanding, and loved the ambience! Would definitely recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Catch 35 is very convenient to all the theaters in the district.
Food was excellent. I believe our waiter forgot we were his table.
This place is so much fun and the food is FANTASTIC. Every time I'm in Chicago, it's the place to go.
My wife and I were there on a weekday evening. Next to Renaissance hotel business people getting dinner. Appetizer of scallops with my wife mussels. The scallops were glazed with a sweet sauce and with mixed with a Chinese turnip cake and vegetables and shiitake mushrooms. Mussels were in a savory tomato broth. The appetizers were a step above compared to “Whitefish bone grill”. A simple beet salad with basalmic vinnegrette. The offer of fresh pepper grinder was odd, since I hadn’t even tasted the food and done in a disinterested manner by assistant. My wife had a panco encrusted haddock was done lightly and perfectly. The sea bass was prepared with a similar sauce, vegetables, and mushrooms, to appetizer. Deserts were good, nothing special. Cost for dinner without alcohol or wine about $60 per person.
