Love this place! We keep going here because their menu has a good variety of seafood and we have yet to be disappointed with anything we've ordered. With the right booth or table, it can be a very romantic date night, and the staff always goes the extra mile for us. They haven't given me a single reason to want to go elsewhere and we will continue to make this "our place" in the future.

We arrived 15 minutes early, was seated immediately, promptly and professionally served. Food was excellent but don't eat the salmon, it's farmed!

I asked for a round table in a relatively quiet area because my elderly in-laws have trouble hearing. We were seated at a round table in the quietest area of the restaurant. It was my in-laws' 66th wedding anniversary and the waiter brought them a special dessert. The food was absolutely outstanding and everyone truly enjoyed their meals. The waiter could have been more attentive and he forgot to give me the coffee I ordered after the meal, but overall it was a wonderful evening and I'm looking forward to going back to Catch 35.

Server was mediocre...food was "ok". Our reso was for 8:00 pm and we arrived early. The hostess gladly took us. Ann, our server, was kind but everything took a long time. I suspect this isn't a career occupation for her. She was professional but extremely soft spoken too. With the noise level of the restaurant, she was very difficult to hear.

The service at our table was amazing.. and the mussels were some of the best I’ve had! (A must try if you like mussels!) I also appreciate this is not a large chain restaurant and only found in Chicago!

Everyone at the table had the 3 course menu for $37; a great deal. Diners had both the salmon and the whitefish and both were good.

My colleagues and I had a 6:30 reservation. At 6:45 they offered us a table in the bar because they didn’t know when they would be able to seat us in the dining room. We took the bar table and then proceeded with horrible service, no utensils or napkins, etc. I’ve been to this place multiple times and would never have returned if my previous visits had been so poorly orchestrated. The food was fine, but this was a major failure.

My husband and I dined at Catch 35 two nights, Tuesday, December 5th and Wednesday, December 6th.
On Tuesday we were seated on the lower level, right next to the seafood display. It was Very noisy. We could hardly hold a conversation with each other. The server, Matt, came to our table and asked if he could tell us about the specials. Then he left and we did not see him again for several minutes. When he finally returned he did not inquire if we wanted drinks. He simply said he would take our dinner selections. I ordered a cocktail and my husband asked for coffee. We ordered Oysters on the Half Shell, the Sea Bass entrée. My husband never got his coffee. The Oysters were excellent. As well as the Sea Bass entrée. My husband had to ask another server for his coffee. Matt never came back to our table to inquire as to how our dinner was or to offer further service. Very disappointed in the service and the seating. The food was very good.
On Wednesday, we requested a booth and were very satisfied with the seating. It was quiet. Also our server was excellent. I'm sorry I did not get her name. She asked if we had theatre plans. Took our drink order and gave us suggestions regarding entrée selections. She brought my drink and my husbands coffee and inquired several times during dinner if he needed his coffee refreshed. We had the Oysters Rockefeller, a Ceasar Salad, and the Haddock entrée. Everything was delicious.

Usually we love eating at Catch 35, but this time there was a fire alarm in a high floor of the building. We gathered in the lobby with the other patrons, but when everyone went back to their tables, our server was no where to be found. We asked the hostess and another server to help us, as we had theater tickets. When our server finally arrived, he said that he had been outdoors watching the firemen. We were double charged for a $13.00 drink that was finally brought to the table and my husband's white fish was full of bones. My filet medallions were good, but rather tough. We will try again, because any place can have a bad night. The manager was kind enough to charge us for half of the bill price.

Great fresh seafood right on Wacker drive on the Chicago river. Easy walk from shopping off the Mag mile and from the theater district on Randolph. I have been here a couple times now for special occasions and the service is A+.

We always enjoy dinner before a concert. I love their Chilean Sea Bass and/or Crab cakes for my entree. I wanted to try something new but my waiter talked me in to the sea bass. Of course, I am glad he did. My guests has filet, whitefish and crabcakes. They enjoyed everything. Our waiter selected a nice bottle of Riesling and it was perfect. We love that they accommodate us for the theater and valet parking consideration. I have never been disappointed.

Nice restaurant, great food at a reasonable price, my wife felt the decor was a little dated, I had the pad Thai chicken, it was superb and the portion was large, my wife had the seafood mixed grill and really enjoyed it.
Service was excellent.

Was unpleasantly surprised how interested the wait staff and bartender were interested in us leaving. We had a 7:45 reservation and a delicious dinner. Decided to get a drink in the bar at 10:00pm on a Saturday to watch the end of a college football game. Bartender told us he was no longer serving, but continued to fill restaurant orders. Finally offered us a drink when he realized we were serious about watching the end of the game. At 11pm (remember this is a Saturday night in Chicago) he told us we needed to leave. While food was excellent and noise level great for hearing conversation, disappointing not to be able to finish the evening as one might have expected.

overall satisfied with catch, We were still able to get seated even though they couldn't find my reservation. This is a great place to take a date, not too loud and tables are spaced well. The cocktails are over priced but the food came fast and was priced fair for the quality. Not sure if I'll go back anytime soon since Chicago has so many choices for food and drinks.

My food was extraordinarily over cooked; waiter was attentive at first but less so once food came. Response to inedible tofu (as part of shrimp Pad Thai) was “oh, the kitchen does that sometimes.” No offer to fix, comp anything, get new tofu, NOTHING. After dinner I had to specifically call a manager over (after I had paid and we were having dessert) to explain our disappointment in the service of our first time at Catch 35. He gave us a card for a comp dessert. So, although somewhat rectified, it was really too little too late.

We came to see the incredible Ms. Dee Alexander and Eric Hochberg Trio perform. She was incredible and engaging, talking with my fiance and I between sets. The meal was very good. We had the mussels with wine/garlic sauce. The flavor was superb and it was fresh and cooked to perfection.

The Martha's Vineyard Salad was perfect and we shared the Haddock, which was absolutely perfect in flavor, consistency and presentation. We definitely recommend this restaurant to any and all that enjoy a wonderful seafood meal.

This was a special evening in downtown Chicago so we wanted a special meal - our adult daughter was joining us. And Catch 35 delivered. We requested a certain spot and were seated there. Hugo our server was attentive and helpful with menu advice. There was one noisy man in the group near us, but that was the only ding in the evening. The food was beautiful prepared and delicious and was as Hugo described. We didn't feel rushed though were glad we came a bit early as the place filled up around us.

Great pre theatre dinner. Would havd asked for a table at the front of the restaurant had I known it was so lively. The back is more intimate and definitely better for quiet conversation but the front of the restaurant had live music and beautiful lighting, will undoubtedly going for happy hour. We were a party of three and everyone cleaned their plates so I'd say we all enjoyed the food. All in all a great place for a special meal.

Sea Bass was excellent. It melted in my mouth! The filet medallions were actually one piece of meat and it was not good. It was chewy and the seasoning was unpleasant. I told my husband “don’t order steak at a seafood place.” The waiter assured us the filet “had gotten better” - it has not. Nice atmosphere and good service. A bit slow, but we weren’t in a hurry.

This is old school "steakhouse" type place but focused on seafood as the feature instead of steak. They have steak, but the seafood / shell fish is claim to fame. The food was great, the service very formal but the ambiance is pretty old school. Kinda felt like a 70 / 80's throwback.

We enjoyed it though!
