Catch 35 was a great choice pre-theater, just three blocks from our hotel (Wyndham) and IMHO an easy city walk to CIBC to see Hamilton. Flavorful dishes, prepared with evident care. Servers are polished and decidedly professional. Fast or slow, depending on your needs. It was something of a date night for us (yeah, we still plan those after all of these married years) and didn't disappoint.
We are city people (DC), if that helps put my review into context. Wr spend a lot of time in coastal areas, so fresh seafood alone wasn't our main aim, but the (tasteful, upscale, not oversized) seafood display case en route to the dining areas served to make the point about freshness. I selected the Lake Superior whitefish (excellent but rich) because of geography. Grilled spicy octopus was tasty but so fully sauced that it felt more like a comfort food than something Mediterranean. (Like I could have it in lieu of Buffalo wings!) I found my spouse's dish--scallops with a braised short-ribs hash--good but a little greasy. Overall, though, flavors were good and presentation on point.

If hosting friends, nobody here will embarrass you in front of you by writing with a crayon on your table or saying, "I'll be helping you out today." I don't mean to set the bar low, but I am sick of juvenile waiters saying "no problem" as a response to my requests. These are adults. The restaurant, thank God, is for adults. Piano bar in from looked like a nice place to share a glass of wine after work or while you wait. Not to grab a beer. Chicago has better options for that.

My wife celebrated our anniversary at Catch 35 by deciding to grab 3-4 different appetizers.
The food was very good and the service was even better. The server allowed us our space but was also attentive to our needs.
Overall a very good meal.

I have been to Catch35 a number of times in the past and remembered it as excellent. In honesty, this trip was very average. The seafood was good but nothing amazing. The menu was not super appealing in terms of preparation and sides. The service was very attentive and good. The ambiance was nice, though we sat closer to the front which is less cozy than the back of the restaurant. I think I will hesitate to go back or recommend this to folks unless for a business lunch.

Went here for a pre-Theater dinner on our anniversary. We were seated in the back which is much quieter than the front by the bar. Siracha shrimp appetizer was very good. Salads were also tasty. My wife had the twin lobster tails (poached) and they were also done nicely. I had the mahi-mahi with andouille sausage. The concept was good, but the execution flawed in that the dish arrived lukewarm and overlooked. Quite a disappointment. Our server did a very nice job overall, and we did get a complimentary dessert. Not sure if it was for the anniversary or the overlooked entrée. We won’t be rushing back, except to check out the bar in front that surrounds the musicians’ stage.

Catch 35 is a nice place. Service was very good. Clearly need to focus on food prep and presentation. Caesar Salad was just a let down, but entree was very good. It's easy to improve a salad without incurring huge cost. It was just weak. We did not have dessert. Drinks were a little expensive. Overall it was good, not great.

They had an amazing Jazz Trio playing when we arrived, we were seated close to them and enjoyed the music emencly.

The wine list was long but our server asked us a few questions and had some wonderful choices for us. The menu had something for everyone, the appies were delicious and when the main course came out it was impressive.

Everything was exceptional! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and look forward to visiting it again next year when we return.

I had high expectations for Catch 35, and was really happy they could accommodate my reservation change from 5 to 8 people. The drinks we had were good, as well as the appetizers. The bisque was not hot, just warm. Our party was told the sea bass was their speciality so half our group ordered it, but it left them all disappointed. It was cold, dry, and the vegetables served with it lifeless and tasteless.

I don't know if it was the size of our party but the service wasn't great. Waters weren't kept full and when served our food the servers were almost rude as they tried to find room on our table for all the plates, glassware, etc.

His service was very professional and extremely attentive, without being overbearing. We never wanted for anything. A wonderful experience! I will be back again and again.

Catch 35 never disappoints.
Went with my mom and we both opted for the prix fixe menu. We both had the bisque, WHICH WAS DELICIOUS. I had haddock with risotto and cilantro pesto. She got smoked salmon. Both were absolutely wonderful. For dessert, she chose key lime pie and I got creme brulee. We both had wine. Everything we had was fantastic. Our server was respectful and helpful and friendly, without being over-the-top.
I highly recommend Catch 35.

We were disappointed with our meal and the service. The crab was clearly not fresh, the tuna was OK. I liked the lentils with mushroom and spinach. The key lime pie was also Ok, but nothing to write home about.
We did not get our drinks until we had been served the entrees and had asked the server who brought the food to please check on it.
We will not be going back.

Coworkers and I dined at Catch during a short business trip. It is conveniently located downtown, and was appropriate for our business/bus-casual attire. One coworker said that he dines here frequently, and loves the seared tuna dish. I tried the grilled salmon and it was excellent, and the vegetables (green beans) were very tasty. We ordered short rib hash and creamed spinach side dishes they were delicious as well. Overall, our experience was excellent and I would certainly dine there again.

The best part of the meal was the server, The scallop appetizer was good as was the swordfish, but the sampler dinner platter including lobster tail, shrimp and salmon was fair at best. For the prices they charge I would expect much better quality.

 (Las Vegas)·Dined on November 1, 2017

My wife and I came here for lunch with high expectations and left having had a mediocre dining experience at best. The seafood chowder tasted mostly like the sausage it was overloaded with. The "salt-roasted" beet salad was just a bunch of bland, watery CANNED beets over some lettuce with a couple pieces of bland goat cheese...not a "roasted" beet anywhere to be found. The Szechuan scallops had not a hint of spice or szechuan pepper flavor...bland. We had to send back their first try at blackened swordfish because it was burnt solid on one side and so dry you couldn't cut it with a steak knife. Though the second try was perfectly cooked and pretty tasty, we remained irritated at the cook trying to pass off their mistake on the first dish by simply putting the burnt side face down instead of starting over with a new piece. Also irritating was the server trying to argue that the burnt fish was ok, like my wife who is a chef herself was some kind of idiot. The Lake Superior Whitefish was pretty good. Probably the best thing about the entire meal was my wife's pomegranate margarita. It was excellent.

The mediocre food, service, and atmosphere that day was clearly driven by a lazy, uncaring staff just going through the motions, front and back of house.

Food was mediocre, and yet priced quite high for the quality. Has their famous sea bass which was ok, but not $42 good. Liquor selection was very small, and the service was lacking. Best part was the gelato I had for dessert.

I was very impressed with our waiter Hugo. He was very helpful and attentive. He made sure we we out for our show at the Chicago Theater. The fish was wonderful and friends who had the lamb chops said they were delicious. Also, I did not realize they had a valet we could have used for going to the theater. Catch 35 should advertise that more because it is a great deal.
An awesome experience.
