We had an incredibly memorable meal! Food was outstanding as was the service.
The food was excellent! You can see the fresh seafood behind the counter as you walk to your table. The live jazz music in the bar area is pleasant and doesn’t dominate the ambiance. The service, however, was unnecessarily slow. A three course pre fixe meal should not take over two hours. The waitress was just not around enough.
Always good food. Table service was great... Bar service, not so much.
Always an interesting menu and no matter what you order it is delicious and we’ll prepared
We should come here more often because every time we do, we have an excellent meal!!
Meh, it’s alright. If you’re after seafood and you want something that will work out predictably and safely, go for it. Feels a bit soulless like the typical Morton’s or other steak house, but the decor is quite dated and makes it feel almost awkward. Either way, I’m not going to be running back, but I wouldn’t complain if someone wanted to go.
The food was not very flavorful. The horseradish crusted salmon should have had a bite to it (heat) but was bland and boring. The sauce on the fish was a "miss".
Service was spotty
Food was very good
We were set in the very back of the restaurant, far away from the live entertainment and in a corner. That was not pleasant. Our waiter on the other fans was amazing, witty with great service. The shrimp appetizer was very tough, over cooked shrimp. The Thai noodles were good. The limp crab pasta dish was outstanding but again everyone’s meal was middle of the road. Mostly would not go back. Ocean Prime is so much better.
Service was a bit slow. Waiter never asked me if I needed another drink. Staff was slow to refill water. Overall good time and good food.
We had an amazing experience at Catch 35 and we were blown away with the excellent service. I had a special request and they handled it like it was never a problem. The whole night was spectacular...oh, I didn't mention the food...oh my!!! I mean, Oh My!! So good and cooked to perfection!
Catch 35 is my go-to restaurant when I’m in Chicago to attend a concert or go to a show. The food never disappoints, the service is professional, and I love the live music in the bar. It all adds up to a prime dining experience.
Great food, great service. In fact, fabulous food. Branzino was delicious. Others loved their dishes. Lovely dinner.
First time there. Everything was excellent! The Calamari was the best I had ever tasted. Cooked just right and very tender. The crab bisque was delicious as well as my white fish. Dessert was a surprise. A sticky cake with caramel. I will be returning
Lovely restaurant & food. One of our long time favorite. Food & service excellent.
I was looking for someplace that wasn't just meat and potatoes (yes even in Chicago) for a business dinner when choosing Catch 35. The menu has plenty of options for everyone's tastes and small plates and a decent wine list as well (grateful for all the global choices). Everyone was pleased with their meals and the service. The only downside to the evening was that even though we had a private room, the guests at the table right outside the room were so boisterous that it wasn't even like their was a wall there and made the conversations difficult at times.
My wife and I always make it a point to come here when visiting Chicago. Great food, friendly staff, and conveniently located.
Branzino was terrific
Room was cozy
I had the camel burger, with camel hair pasta. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was excellent. And cute too.
We had a very good dinning experience. The food and the staff were amazing! Will definitely stop by again.
Excellent food, service was great and nice jazz music!!! Highly recommend
Food and service were outstanding. Catch 35 is one of our favorite places for dinner in downtown Chicago. If you go try the seabass...just great!
Food and service were excellent!
Service was really bad, I even had to get up and finally get a waiter because my medium rare steak was well done.. We never did get refills again on our sodas. Food was OK, pretty small portions, but decent taste
Great food and service.
Food was great and the server was engaging. I would return!
Food was very good. Too many times I was not able to be fully engaged in my conversations, because I was looking for a refill on my soft drink. Staff was professional, friendly, and courteous, but could have been more attentive.
It was a little noisy for a business conversation, due to a large group that was cheering and clapping being placed next to us. We understand people desire to celebrate. We slightly moved our table away to help us in our conversation.
Overall, a date night would be great, but a business conversation that night was a little challenging.
Enjoyed the live music and cuisine, very good experience overall
We were seated in the back and had a very romatic birthday dinner. The service, food, staff were outstanding. I would highly recomend this restaurant.
Fantastic salads and poke bowl!
Food was excellent..main course fish phenomenal...service slow and spotty...took almost 20 minutes for waitress to ask for drinks....wine requested not in stock..desert was average..need to bring back chocolate mousse
Good service. Had plenty of time to eat before our theater performance at 7:30
Great food. Tony was a good server, he made great recommendations on food choices.
Excellent menu and wine list. Nice decor. A little pricey, but food was excellent. Our server had zero personality. Other than that it was a good experience.
Swordfish was great. Biscuits were burnt. Service was slow. Ate during rush time so took a long time to get our food and when served it appeared to have sat out because it was not hot enough.
The food was great but the restaurant was very noisy. The live music made conversation with my companion and the server extremely difficult.
The food was very good, wine list just OK, but our service was very slow and it was not that busy. We were served drinks quickly initially but it took over 30 minutes for our server to return to take our food order. Just not acceptable for this type of establishment. GT Fish and Oyster much better.
Good -- but waiter ditched us midmeal. Empty wine glasses for the remainder of meal.
Catch 35 is great -- but service is always variable. Wait staff should watch tables closely -- not leave mid meal.
