Catch 15 Ratings and Reviews
Waiter was hopelessly unfamiliar with the menu and wine selections. After salad, entree was served with no utensils- I had to ask three different people for a fork and knife. Waiter insisted on filling wine glasses to an obscene level like he was trying to get us to finish the bottle. There are way too many really good restaurants in DC to waste time on this one.
Food was pretty good, though nothing was particularly memorable. We ordered a full-sized pasta entree and a few small plates; the small plates were generous (almost as big as the entree). Service was pleasant and efficient, but more attention was given to larger parties, and the waiter counted his tip in front of us (we were using a Groupon).
I couldn't stop eating the small plates!! Everything tasted great, but I must give a special shout out to the oysters Rockefeller and oysters imperial. The mussels, the lamb chops, the octopus...I could go on. The service was great and the house wine was very good. Just writing this makes me want to go back for more.
This place is not large and the tables are a bit close together, but the food totally makes up for it. Please go!!
I took my friend out for her birthday at lunch. The food was outstanding. We ordered off of the 3 course meal menu and it was a nice selection. I got the cod and my friend go the chicken. Both meals were amazing. We will definitely be revisiting.
The food was all very delicious, we had fresh oysters, osso buco, and a salad. Unfortunately it was like pulling teeth to receive any service here. From start (seated) to finish the entire meal took a few hours. Generally not a bad thing if your waiter is helpful however we were only served, along with food, two to three cocktails of which I wanted more.
Just had a delicious birthday lunch. Ordered the business lunch menu-had the salad and the fettuccine with salmon. All tasty and fresh. My co-worker ordered the polenta and mussel appetizer and it looked so good! We finished our lunch with tiramisu to go. Always a treat to go to Catch 15
Catch 15 is a must try. I visited the establishment for a birthday brunch. Everything was top notch from the service (Angel was our server), the atmosphere and the food was just delicious. I would definitely recommend Catch 15 for any occasion but especially for a romantic dinner or Sunday Brunch. I can't wait to return to my new favorite DC restaurant. The bartender or manager that worked Sunday, 2/26/17 was excellent as well, very friendly.
We opted for the regular menu on a Sunday afternoon though they have a popular brunch. The corn crab soup was wonderful. We split several dishes and we were sorry we didn't order two. The scallop appetizer is tasty but very small-- three piece of scallop that only add up to one and a half scallops. On the other hand the braised lamb "small plate" was as large as the entreeNd very good. The rockfish was excellent -- a little crispy but also very moist with excellent spinach on the side. We will definitely return.
Catch 15 was decent but very loud. It's way more of a bar scene than a restaurant. I would not plan to come here with family or people you want to have a conversation with.
The food was ok but needed more seasoning and the waiter missed an order.
Bottom line, there are better places to go for italian and seafood.
After a day of walking, we sat down to a very quiet dining room. It was early and it slowly filled up with guests. We enjoyed raw oysters, appetizers and pasta dishes. Food was very good, service was good. Our family of 4 (2 teens) was very comfortable. There was a large party with young children. Good place for families or a date.
The restaurant was super busy because of a weekend volleyball tournament (glad that we had a reservation) Food was delicious and the waitstaff was very quick. It was a tad noisy but I think that it had to do with the shear number of people coming and going because of the weekend event. Well worth a visit.
I chose Catch 15 for Valentines day with my girlfriend and unfortunately it did not live up to the money we paid or good things we heard about the restaurant. During the dinning experience, the restaurant kept playing the same song on repeat and the temperature in the dinning area was too hot to get comfortable.
As far as the fixed price menu is concerned, when I booked Catch 15, the reservation didn't really tell you it was a price fixed menu. Once we got past that issue, we chose to explore the menu and order the 3 courses.
My girlfriend ordered the shrimp as her first course, which left her dissatisfied as there were only 2 pieces for the whole plate. For her second course, she ordered the seafood noddles, which we ended up having to send back because they were cold and were flavorless.
I ordered the meatballs for my first course which were decent ravioli for my second course. I was really looking forward to steak as my third dish, however I had to send it back as simultaneously tasted burnt and it was under-cooked.
All the while, our waiter rarely came over to our table to refill our waters or get us more glasses of wine. I did finally get the manager's attention and he helped near the end of the meal, but it was too late. We spent two hours, waiting on wait staff, sending our food back and unfortunately exploring the menu through painful trial and error with bad service.
I would not recommend this restaurant to friends looking to have a romantic experience on valentines day, as this experience was the opposite.
We celebrated Valentine's Day with a quiet date at Catch15. The host remembered us from a year ago. It was a special Valentine's Day fixed price menu, and each dish was better than the one before. It is a traditional white tablecloth location with curtains available to be pulled between tables for privacy. The room is small and the ambiance very romantic. The service was fantastic -- we never had to wait on service. The food was served promptly. A perfect date.
This restaurant was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing. And the service was beyond my expectations. I was celebrating a very special evening and the manager and waiter were very open to a little gift I wanted to give my spouse as the dessert menu. I was early for my reservation. But my spouses car was caught behind an accident, and arrived late. I was able to occupy my table and be served my wine while waiting. The staff was very friendly, observant, and completely in tune with what was happening around us. My dish, the seafood lasagna was absolutely DELICIOUS! Kisses to the chef!
Thank you for an amazing night out for dinner.
The food is inventive and comforting at the same time. We went with a group of twelve one night and returned with a group of four the following night, it was so good. Service was a bit better with the big group. Great happy hour prices, too. Love this place!
I waited a very long time before even being addressed for a drink. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and made certain that my drink and meal arrived promptly. The seafood alfredo was delicious...and the manager Fessaha was very accommodating. I would dine again as long as I am addressed in better time after being seated
