Catch 122 Cafe & Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I would not recommend this place for a lunch break. Even though I had made a reservation, it took us 10 minutes to get our order taken down, and the food itself took nearly 30 minutes, which the server told us was normal. When the food did finally come, the portion sizes were so minuscule that I left very hungry afterwards. I will not be joining them for lunch again.
I’m not a fan of their new menu - they’ve made their portions smaller making you choose salad or hash; I got hash but the potatoes were really dry and their poached eggs aren’t runny. I’m usually a huge fan of this place but today I was quite disappointed with the food.
Before booking the reservation for this restaurant, I checked on their website and they had happy hour specials for both food and drink. When I arrived and asked for the happy hour menu, I was informed that the happy hour menu on their website was no longer valid. I heard amazing things about the fried chicken so both my guest and myself ordered it. In total we ordered two fried chicken dishes and cocktails. One dish arrived and the other arrived 15 mins later. It was confusing as there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. The server did apologize but I would rather wait and have both dishes come out at the same time.
The fried chicken dish was $11 and it looked to be either one or one and a half boneless chicken thigh(s) cut up. On their website, the dish looks like it is two pieces of a chicken boneless thigh. For me, the value was not there and this was a very disappointing meal.
Everything was great! I came here to straight after a work meeting and came right before they closed for their afternoon break. The service was great - even though I had to order within 5 minutes and was requested to pay upfront, they were very generous by giving me free coffee with my meal. The salmon eggs Benedict was delicious and they didn’t rush me out of the restaurant even though they were closed. Since this place is right beside my new job and the price isn’t too expensive, I will definitely be returning in the future.
Generally we like the food and it's nearby the office, but this last experience was disappointing. The restaurant was either short-staffed or those serving were having a bad day. It was a weekday lunch hour. It took 40+ minutes to get our food, which came cold. One member of our group didn't get served until well after the other 5 of us. The restaurant usually has great potatoe sides with brunch, but portions were scant this time -- not many potatoes and a lot of fried crumbs. All in all, not a good experience, especially since we were celebrating a colleague's birthday (the one who got served last!).
I've been here a few times for lunch/brunch and now once for dinner. 10/10 for food and service. Loved the duck dish - perfectly cooked and the vegetable pairings were delicious. The type of dish that sticks in your memory and makes you want to come back soon to get it again! Try a flight of 3 wines to pair with share plates for the table.
This is a great little restaurant. The only reason i didn't give it five stars is the lack of a wine selection. A few on tap but nothing worthy of the meal we had. Best Bread I've had in a long time. The menu is not long but it packs a punch. You could treat it like a traditional menu, like we did and start with greens (and bread) and order a large dish each or you could treat it like a tapas. it's a great place with a great menu, you probably need to be 25% adventurous eater for this menu. It's kind of funky, kind of hip, the music was noticeable and fun but never interfered with our conversation. The food was cooked perfectly, with a lot of flavors going on. I would definitely recommend.
Their unique cocktails in the evening are top notch. It is a great place for a post-dinner get together for special occasions. Food portions are disappointing; however they were presentable and tasty. I was expecting a little richer menu, but they have fair amount of mains and finger foods.
We had never eaten at Catch 122 before so this was a great find for us. It was easy to reserve a table for our large group of 11. We arrived at Happy Hour and so tried everything on the menu. Everyone agreed the food was tasty - good variety. Even though there was only a few choices for entrees, everyone was happy with what they ordered. The service was excellent - friendly. Our server made quality checks and was attentive and prompt. We would recommend this restaurant as a place to go as a pre-game spot. It's a short walk to the sport venue and we didn't have to fight crowds of people.
Loved the food the beers and the service! I was however a bit disappointed that the server did not announce in a clear and understanding manner that an 18% gratuity had already been added.
Three of us double tipped (36% total tip)- it was only when one of my guests who is also a server noticed and asked for our extra tip back.
Not a big deal but with a large group better communication would be helpful.
Would still reccomend.
Been coming here since a friend hosted a small New Years' gathering brunch couple years ago. Go to place for weekday brunch- once had to wait 90 mins on a Saturday, and they don't take reservations on weekends so that's a bummer- as well as nice lunch and dinners. Service can be a bit slow, my friend and I tried three or four times to ask our guy for the bill, resorted to walking up to him for it in the end. Otherwise, love this place!
The service was a bit inconsistent as they forgot about us a couple of times. For example, after being seated, our waiter saw we had no drink menus so he immediately got us 2 drink menus. He did not come back for 15 minutes so we ordered 3 plates and our drinks. All the plates arrived before our drinks. There was similar confusion surrounding desert.
Food was good. The fried chicken was the best of the items that we tried.
