   I remember wonderful family brunches in years past, so I jumped at the opportunity to return for Easter brunch. Catalyst does not disappoint. Still great food and service, a terrific bar, and the insanely popular Catalyst burger with all its decadence. The fanciful Easter decor took it to a whole new level of happy.

   Catalyst is consistently outstanding! So much of their food has an interesting little twist which is delightful. The celery root soup had little bits of diced apple which was a wonderful enhancement to the soup. The poached pears and crispy prosciutto were amazing in the little leaf salad - our fault for trying to be healthy and get the dressing on the side, which was a mistake. We really needed the salad tossed with the mustard vinaigrette. The bolognese is my favorite entree and I really appreciate that you can get a small pasta portion. Get the full portion if you want leftovers for the next day. My dining companion had the salmon with butternut squash, spinach, blood orange and a very interesting sauce that he absolutely loved. We got the chocolate semifreddo which was AMAZING - chocolate frozen mousse with raspberry mousse on top, just phenomenal. It was a huge portion, so perfect for sharing. Service was stellar as always and our server was so friendly. He was covering many tables but was super efficient and I could see everyone around us got really great, attentive service. The Catalyst team works very well together. One other observation is that the bathroom is always incredibly clean - might be strange to mention, but it's obvious that they send people in the bathroom to check frequently throughout the evening. It's those little details that let you know that nothing is missed or taken for granted in this restaurant. We love Catalyst and it's one of our go-to restaurants for so many things: a great place to take visiting friends and family, a place to celebrate, a place to lift our spirits after a rough week (like this past Friday night)!

   This place never ceases to amaze me, we do every wine dinner they set up. Not only do you get to try wines you wouldn’t normally get your hands on but they usually have the head wine maker or in this case the owner and wine maker at the dinner. Getting to meet and mingle with Robert Foley was an amazing experience, the knowledge we left dinner with about their history and influence in the California wine scene since the 70’s was astounding. As always, the food was out of this world, the Catalyst team always pulls off an incredible well paired menu to compliment the wines. The thought and effort put into the menu by chef William and Danni is not lost, every plate is presented perfectly, their attention to detail is incredible. I know this experience isn’t just for wine dinners, they excel with their standard service as well, if you haven’t been here, this is a must if you’re looking for an amazing experience with a comfortable atmosphere and extremely pleasant staff.
