Excellent choice for Brunch. As good as it gets.
We celebrated 2 birthdays.
Great venue, good service, but really mediocre food at a fairly high price. As an example a burger is $24 which might be OK if it was a great burger, but it sadly isn't.
The dinner buffet at Catalina Kitchen is amazing! The dining patio is spacious and kept cozy with heaters. The solo singer/guitar player was a nice touch for a Sunday night family meal.
Great 1st experience. The food and staff were outstanding. Will definitely visit again when in town.
We did the lunch Buffet and there was not a lot to chose from - Limited items - If you ordered off the menu this was limited as well -
Breakfast was amazing.
We have had many positive dinners at Catalina kitchen. However for whatever reason, this time the service, timing, and quality of the food suffered greatly that night. Our young daughters children’s meal was brought 45 minutes before ours and food was not hot and not particularly appetizing in other ways. The waiter kept blaming the kitchen but it was not particularly busy that night. The manager comped our very delayed entrees. We have had other good times there and look forward to more. I hope the waiter has found another line of work.
Sunday brunch is like no other. We love celebrating birthdays here. Outdoor dining in November cannot be beat! The seafood and sushi quality is outstanding. The omelet and crepe bars, carving stations are first-rate. I felt that service could be more attentive for the price. Sadly, there was an Asian family that brought their lapdog and let it do its business, assuming the staff would pick up. Um, no. I was embarrassed to be Asian. Probably pets should NOT be allowed in a swanky place like this.
Service was terrible!!!
The view is lovely, and the ambiance is the best. Not really fair to judge the service, which was not that good, but it was the weekend of the fire in Los Angeles and the hotel was unexpectedly full for this time of year since 200,000 people were evacuated.
We were late by ten minutes for our reservation, called and they were quite understanding and seated us immediately when we did arrive.
Sunday brunch - good food & really good service, but it is $30 per person overpriced. $70 per person plus $15 for parking is too much.
Their Sunday brunch is by far one of the best I have ever had. Their normal dinner menu is kinda limited but there is enough to find something you will enjoy.
Too dark to see food. Not enough heaters. Over priced. But beautiful area.
Special place for a birthday celebration. Friday night King Crab was excellent. Best crab legs I have ever had. They slice them so eating them is not so messy. Steak, prime rib, and tri-tip along with shrimp and salads and fixings. It was all you can eat and I did. They even surprised my wife with a dessert plate for her birthday. A++
Fabulous Service and wonderful views and food
Everything was great until was told there was $15 valet charge. We had our ticket validated and it was $15. Without it would have been $25 for one hour to have lunch
Lovely setting and very accommodating.
Love the ambience and service. Salvador was extremely helpful and friendly. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Can’t wait to come back.
Great selection of seafood options. Loved the soft shell crab Benedict and the wood fired pizza. Everything was fresh. View is second to none in Southern California.
Excellent seafood buffet with a wide variety of choices, both seafood and non. High quality food, well prepared and exceptional service. Well worth the $70.
The only thing better than the food is the view. The servers are great, the restaurant is clean and comfortable and the outdoor seating is fantastic. Only complaints are drinks took a long time to come out (on a relatively slow Wed night) and the prices are a bit high. But hey, you're paying for the view and the great food, so we keep coming back.
Patio view of ocean was good. Food was just okay; overpriced.
Usually, dining at Tetanus is a treat. Unfortunately for us, this bist was a disaster. We waited more than 1 hour for a simple salad and a steak. Ultimately, we left as the kitchen was being poorly managed to get food out in a timely manner. The restaurant was not at peak, as there were a lot of empty tables. The manager did offer us food to go for free and the waitress was super apologetic. Suggestions: 1) Reorganize kitchen management, as this size of a resort with convention services should be able to feed their basic restaurant patrons. 2) Inform customers before they are seated if there is a logistical problem serving food. While we were given a to go box, my husband had a bad reaction to the steak. I won’t go into further written detail...
Always a pleasant experience! The food was excellent! The serve staff wonderful!
Nice place to eat . Good food, good atmosphere, and good service.
The brunch buffet has great omelets made to order, meats, seafood, fruit, and desserts. There's a scenic view of Palos Verdes, and nice trails to walk off the food are right there, along with the swimming pool.
The Sunday brunch buffet spread (we were there 10:15AM with 12 adults, 2 toddlers) improved from a few months we were there. The selection & quality of food improved...but the sushi spread need more selection. Otherwise, overall a good experience.
Food was good but salad was drenched in dressing instead of dressing being served on the side as requested. Suggest a bit more quality control.
Servers were great.
Excellent food and drinks in a beautiful setting, great place to relax and enjoy the day.
Family affair for my husband’s birthday. They were wonderful. Bought food right away for the young children so adults could visit. Great food and atmosphere. Probably do it again next year
Beautiful place to spend a day or two to enjoy foods, drinks, its gorgeous landscape, walking, fun activities, spa in an absolutely breath taking ocean view from its prime location.
Catalina Kitchen is always a treat! The food and the staff are always wonderful. We're so happy to have a place like this close by.
This is our second time this year celebrating at Catalina Kitchen and BOTH times we have had to wait 15+mins AFTER our reservation time to be seated-we arrived before the actual reservation, so it’s not because we were late. Over a dozen small groups (4 or less) were seated right away. How hard is it to set a table for 11 with a reservation set a month prior?! Ridiculous. This time after waiting we had to wait again because they put our table right in front of the live music...not what we had in mind! And I’m sure we were not alone (kind of loud!).
Food is usually very good but the Sunday buffet, I have to say, was disappointing. It was one of my favorites before, they used to have so much more. Now it’s quite limited for $70/person. Actually, VERY limited. We won’t be back for the buffet (especially since Trump is down the street offering much more for basically the same price when you include the $10 VALIDATED valet at Terranea).
Bring more food options and PLEASE do NOT make your customers with reservations wait.
It was superb as usual!
The food, service, view, and overall ambiance is exceptional. You feel as if you've been swept away to a European resort.
Good overall experience. Comfort food with a slight twist? Would go again for the ambiance.
Overall very good destination. Atmosphere was pleasant with very attentive staff. Food was generous but a little bit on the pricy side.
Catalina Kitchen, at Terranea, is one of my favorite places to celebrate special occasions or just spend quality time with loved ones. The ambiance and view are absolutely beautiful. The Sunday Brunch is not as great as it has been in the past couple of years, but it's still good. The price is a bit high and the quality of some of the items has gone down slightly, but overall it's still very good. We love the variety ; from fresh sushi, crab legs, large peel and eat shrimp, hand made omlettes, charcuterie options, plenty of traditional breakfast options, nice selection of pastries, ice cream and sorbet to choose from, freshly cut meat, nice desserts, and a decent array of fresh fruit and veggies. This visit we were disappointed with the fresh fruit. The watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, and cantaloupe were over ripe and looked and tasted old. Aside from the overly ripe fruit, we had a very nice brunch to celebrate my birthday. Felipe, our server, was spectacular and he made our visit easy and enjoyable. He took great care of our party of four.
Wonderful experience. The food was good and the service was great. We had not eaten at this particular restaurant at Terranea before and the waiter was just perfect in getting us a drink fast, explaining how it all works and in clean up. Food was pretty good, a few missteps but nothing major. Will come back again
