Good choices as well as great food preparation. A little bit pricy
It was my birthday
Seems loud, good choice of food, I ordered an appetizer to be followed by an entree but they brought my entree too soon, making me not able to eat the appetizer while still warm. Asked for a martini with a twist and the server brought it with olives and walked away before I could correct her, when I ordered the second martini, I told her again and this time it was correct, the people picking up plates were asking to take my paltes away before I was finished with my meal, as if they needed the table, though I would have better service aftere spendin $125.
My guest and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast, thank you. I appreciated the phone call the day before our reservation to alert me that the patio would be closed due to some repair work. While disappointed that we could not be seated outside, we still enjoyed a beautiful view and delightfully friendly, attentive service from our waiters/servers. The food was delicious and the room beautifully appointed.
This review is for their Sunday breakfast buffet. I've been here a few times before but this time the selection was drastically limited. I'd be fine with the selection being limited as long as each item available (or at least some of them) are good. Quality over quantity can work. But it was not the case here. Even though I was paying $70 per head, I had little desire to go back for seconds. Servers and staffs were the saving grace here as they were very pleasant and friendly.
Great spot to spend lunch and dinner with friends and family. The staff is very nice and willing to help with anything you ask for. I will come back soon
Enjoyed the both a'la carte and Saturday buffet with our group of 7. Reservations went smoothly-beautiful table prepared. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Heard raves on buffet, but the corned beef hash was tough, and a disappointment. Definitely would recommend- beautiful setting and otherwise, good food.
Friday night is buffet only. Didn’t bother to tell us that menu was not an option. Meat selection was extra well done scraps. Salad offerings were not as good as McDonald drive thru offering! Deserts were limited and had been cut earlier in day. Over priced, under poured wine by glass! At $75 per person a rip off! At $25 per person it would be closer to fair value. Very disappointed after spending close to $600/night for room!
Our server was amazing! Food was good, ambiance was very nice. Lovely day to celebrate a birthday of a friend.
Indoor music was loud. Ordered crab legs. They were delicious however served on too small rectangular plate, legs were touching tsble, yikes! No secondary plate for used shells or proper crab eating utensils were served. When I asked for them 2 staffers did not know what I meant. Suggest enhanced training of chefs, servers, and bussers and more mellow volume and selection of music. We were there for romantic evening and it was disappointing.
Good food, but the inside section was noisy and too warm. Good service , but expensive for what you get.
Our server, Lauren, was great overall, but she did have to deal with a bunch of mistakes from those around here, such as:
No lemon with the water after asking three times
Salad came with previously unmentioned parmesan to our guest who is allergic to cheese
Mashed potatoes came with cheese after same guest had been assured it could be left off
Broccolini came with garlic after guest had been assured it could be left off
Out of swordfish by 7:00 p.m.
Out of vanilla ice cream by 8:30 p.m.
Manager did replace potatoes and broccolini and comp that one main course and four desserts, which was appreciated.
Our waiter was either too busy but he was not very attentive. We got an appetizer and used up all of our bread and asked for more and 15 minutes later we asked someone else to bring us the bread. There were four of us and three of the main dishes were served, and then mine was served approximately five minutes later. I’ve had better experiences at Catalina kitchen and we were all disappointed
Food was just okay. Seafood boil was cold, pasta in chicken parmigiana was overcooked, pasta in lobster Mac and cheese was under cooked and the rice on the sushi was hard. The seafood buffet before the change was much better. Had we known it was liked this we would have chosen Vegas Buffet. Luis was an excellent waiter.
Nice place to go with a great outdoor space! Food is okay, but nothing to write home about!
Incredible service!

Very, very nice staff members. No. 1 service.
Food is great.
I have to respect all members, for they respect their jobs and professional service.
I live in this area. I am so glad to have these people here to spend time with.
Honest, I am a bit surprised. It is people that make the world different. Thanks.
We keep trying it again to see if the food gets any better and to our disappointment, it does not. The flatbread pizza is basically a thick pizza bread with some stuff on it. The quality of the food is not good and the prices are too high. There are only 2 draft beers and they charge $15 for a glass of chardonnay, which they only have one choice of. Living in PV for 20 years, it's a shame that Terrenea really only caters to Corporations who book events, etc there.
Delightful setting with good food and high prices
We should have made our Saturday morning reservation for an earlier time than 11:30 so we could enjoy the buffet more leisurely. The food and service were very good.
This restaurant is overpriced for the selection of food offered. If offers upgrades such as king crab and lobster for additional cost. The location is very nice.
This little 70th birthday looks lunch celebration with friends exceeded expectations, thank you All @Catalina Kitchen! The food was marvelous, the semi-outdoor ambiance delightful, the staff welcoming, kind and attentive.
I was very dissatisfied with the service because we had reserved a table for 4 people for 8pm; we arrived around 7pm to have an aperitif outside around the fire. we had ordered a bottle of champagne; we had to get the bottle from the bar and serve it to us. At 8:15 p.m., we were picked up to announce that the restaurant closes at 9 p.m. We were very surprised because it was noted at 10 p.m. at the reservation and at the restaurant door. We had to eat quickly and at 8:55 pm, the waiters brought us the birthday cake that I had ordered. the waiter put down the cake quickly and told us that there were 5 minutes left to cut it. benefits and services are not up to a resort.
The brunch was very overpriced for what was offered and the quality was just ok. Service was excellent
Great hotel. Restaurant is good but not outstanding. The patio is lovely, the food is fine and the service was excellent
Over 60 a person for a lunch burgers and shared a dessert no alcohol....beautiful setting for sure...but give me a break.
Terrenea is such a fun and special place to have an outing! It is that specialness that’s always draws us. However, both Nelson’s and Catalina Kitchen leave us feeling disappointed with the value of food for the cost of the evening. Catalina Kitchen is wonderful for breakfast, but dinner is still disappointing. I’m sorry to say that as I want it to thrive. It’s such a special spot.
The food was excellent, service great.
On Christmas Eve of this year my family and I attended the catalina kitchen buffet. Not only were we impressed with the exquisite dishes and wonderful buffet style presentation, but the service and outdoors temperature control were absolutely outstanding. According to a valued guest at my table that evening, that was the best lobster she had ever consumed and the options for both steamed and cold snow crab legs were a pleasant surprise to my guests and I. The overall experience was a delight to the senses and truly made for a magical experience that I will not soon forget.
Went here for Sunday brunch. It’s a lovely setting andgreat views. However, the food was average. For almost $100 a person our group expected an exceptional experience. There was no options for cooked fish, not everybody loves sushi. And the meat choices were overcooked and tough. In general, our group enjoyed the ambience but no one was impressed with the food.
I have been going to Catalina kitchen brunch for few years now and quality of food has been going down every time. the servers are good but people who serve at stations are sometime hard to get. either missing form station or doing multiple jobs and if you ask for more than two things, you feel the "really man" look.
place is still nice and good views but brunch is not worth it in my opinion. I feel the difference in food quality, when I am there just for breakfast.
Everything was great. First visit.
We had a wonderful dinner - the scallops we had were perfectly done, and the chicken juicy. Very attentive service. We come back fairly often here for a nice dinner, as they never disappoint!
Very noisy!! Difficult to have conversation with others at the table. Everything a la crate, including bread with the meal.
While the food was outstanding, the service was terrible. Thank goodness for the bus-server who actually took an interest in seeing that we had some form of service. We also did not feel it was so crowded that our waiter/waitress should have been overwhelmed. Again, would recommend the food anytime. However it is always rather troubling to pay the amount of money expended and have such sub-par service.
Lovely patio with a view, excellent service, and the food was top notch. The beer list is great, with good prices ($7-10). Wine list was pricey, selection not so great. Lots of food options at various price points. My Kobe beef burger was arguably my best burger ever - rich, decadent, memorable. And $36! But it was the perfect treat on a special occasion, so that’s okay.
Birthday lunch
Delicious food and very attentive waitstaff. Great view.
I had higher expectations for food quality. Calamari was very dry and almost not edible. Green salad was also disappointing. Shrimp and steak were good. Sea bass was okay.
