The environment was amazing, terrific food. We had the same server as the last time we were there, she was fantastic. Thank you!
The ambience and service was quite nice. The food, however, was simply average. Tastes were pretty generic. I had the Calabrese Sausage pasta and the meat tasted like pepperoni you would get on a pizza.
Way over priced portion way too small. Maybe good for older crowd above 60.
$400 for family of five and still hungry.
Pay for bread? What?
Decent Italian food. Sauce very good. Waiter was excellent
This was the best meal we had on our trip to Canada. I am still thinking about the wonderful Caprese Salad!
This was a nice restaurant for a birthday meal and the food was very nice, it wasn't overly expensive for a special meal. The tables were quite close together so it didn't feel very private, we ended up chatting to the couple next to us which was nice but may not be to everyone's taste.
The lounge had a great atmosphere with an even better service! The meals arrived fresh, hot and very rich in flavour and the drinks bomb! Our dessert was amazing and the Mule was very tasty!!!! 11/10!!! Thank you!!!
Our server was lovely. I didn't catch her name.... She is a long time local and has a short blond bob haircut. Nice work on the renos as well, place looks beautiful!
Best lobster ravioli I have ever had and the gnudi was perfect.
Not a particularly memorable dinner. Food was good, service was sparse and menu was limited. Still worth checking it out if staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.
Best pizza I have had for a long while.
We were a group of 5 women having dinner before heading out to celebrate Nee Years Eve. The service was incredible and the food and wine were delicious. Highly recommended!
Thank you for sharing such a lovely review. We were thrilled to hear that you and your friends enjoyed your New Year's Eve with us! What a perfect way to end 2018! We look forward to welcoming you back again. Warm regards, Jeffrey Carpenter Food and Beverage Manager
Our waiter left a lot to be desired. He was not attentive, when he did come to the table he would walk away as soon as he got an answer. I was trying to pick a wine and wanted to ask his opinion but he said since I wasn’t ready he would come back. Our daughter’s drink came about 15 minutes after ours and was watered down from sitting at the bar. We were there for a birthday celebration but left disappointed. The food wasn’t awful but it wasn’t anything special at all. The tiramisu was wonderful! The setting is beautiful!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am very sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had. This is clearly not what we wish any of our guests to encounter. I have shared your feedback with our service team to look at ways we can improve. I do hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Banff. Warm regards, Jeffrey Carpenter Food and Beverage Manager
Decided to try this restaurant during our stay at the Banff Springs Hotel and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was very courteous and attentive, and made numerous suggestions. We started with the calamari and it was simply delicious. We also ordered a wonderful bottle of red wine to accompany our meal (one of the less expensive options, and it didn’t disappoint). My main was the rigatoni with chiorzo sausage, while my girlfriend ordered the mushroom risotto. Both were amazing and we would definitely order again. While it is (expectedly) pricy due to its location, the meal was superb and the whole experience is one we won’t soon forget. I should also mention that the portion sizes are on the larger side, so that somewhat helps with the ‘sticker shock’. All in all, I’d highly recommend this venue.

Great as always. 2nd year in a row and it always good to visit castellos.

Was an underwhelming visit. Service was good, good was average

Be prepared: There's a $10 premium on everything because it's in the resort.
Excellent staff who were very pleasant and accommodating. Food was excellent!
Staff absolutely outstanding!! As was service and food. I received a dish where the mushrooms had not been properly cleaned, resulting in a gritty dish of risotto. The effort that was made to correct it was exemplary and the meal and dessert was truly outstanding. I will look forward to going back!!
Amazing! Amazing food amazing service
Food quality was really sub par. It was not even Olive Garden quality. Had the worst margarita pizza of my life! How do you mess that up? I will tell you the secret.....loads of greasy cheddar. My husband's pasta was sticky and chicken was very dry. Prices were expensive when compared to food quality. I don't mind paying high prices for good food, but I was left feeling let down.

I sent my family there for a nice dinner they were very happy with everything. Beautiful atmosphere awesome food and staff go beyond what you would expect. Highly recommended.
Great service and the food was awesome. We especially enjoyed the tartufo, which was recommend by our server. Thank you such a fantastic evening.
Convenient dining if staying at the Fairmont however the food was disappointing.
From a chefs view service was great. Room is outdated. Food was weak my wife is Italian im a chef. $40 for ricotta gnocchi with two sausages yes it is the Fairmont Banff springs and a tourist destination but $40 for gnocchi good luck ..
A very memorable dinner.Service was outstanding as was the food.Would highly recommend it for a great place to dine. If you like red wine a sleeper is a Californie Zinfadel located on the last page of the wine list.. All our best Mary and Don..
Delightful dining spot if you enjoy Italian cuisine.
Excellent service. Server was very attentive.
Enjoyed the mussels appetizer! Unique flavors and everyone liked it. I had the seafood linguini and it was a little light on seafood and very garlicky. Others had the chicken parm and the Halibut. Both said were good. Not the best Italian food I’ve had but was an enjoyable evening.
My dish was tasty but very pricey. The service was good. I would recommend this for special occasions.
Not worth the price. Food was not good. Far from being fine food. Way over priced. Can go at a regular restaurant for same quality food. Calamari were terrible. Good service.
Food was average. Menu not very exciting. Service was good. For the price I would eat Italian in Banff.
The circular building housing the restaurant at the Banff Springs Hotel has huge windows bringing in the light and views of the walls of the historic hotel surrounding it. But the food and service is what you should come here for. We had a mushroom pizza, shared as an appetizer, that we thought the best thing we’d had in years. Both the crust and the filling were masterfully made and eye-openingly delicious, a surprise for someone who never eats the usually tasteless crust on any pizza.
Following this we ordered the Wild Boar Canelloni which was spectacular, and the mixed sea food special which more than lived up to expectations. Halfway through the meal we asked the staff to accommodate a friend who joined us unexpectedly, and this was done graciously and without fanfare. All in all, a wonderful dining experience we highly recommend.
We were seated in The Ramsay Lounge but since it was our 40th anniversary they offered to move us. The lounge is much quieter and quaint so we stayed there. David gave us great service. The food was fantastic and we should not have ordered an appies as the portions were large. The wine by the glass is a bit limited and I felt the prices were about double that many places charge. A bottle of wine was triple the price in a store, usually double is the norm. They did however give us complimentary ice wine and chocolate at the end of the evening which was a very nice touch.
Overall it was a wonderful evening and we would recommended it to anyone and we would definitely return.
Seriously amazing food. We got the caprese, spaghetti meatballs, and chicken parm. The roasted garlic with the bread was great and they gave us the recipe when we told them how good it was. Highly recommend.
We dined there for our 25th wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint. The kitchen made us a special appetizer and the chef delivered our meals personally. The food was very good which is saying something as my husband is a very picky eater. The service was exceptional. We felt very take care of but also left alone for privacy as well.
The dinner started great but we found that was because there was hardly anyone in it. waiter was attentive to begin, but once busy forgot us. had to flag him down for a 20 minute wait between appetizers and main course to find out where main course was. the apps were excellent. however, my seafood linguine was OK at best. literally no broth so pasta dried out quickly. at a hotel like the Fairmont and prices like these for Italian, the table tops should have been scraped, they were not. they apparently have bus service, but we saw that person only once
My wife raved about the meal and we enjoyed good service
We were actually seated in the Ramsay Lounge, which turned out to be a good thing. Quiet with more of a view of the mountains than the main Castello room, itself, which overlooks Fairmont’s driveway. Wonderful service and a comprehensive selection of spirits, cocktails and wines. Our “Prosciutto-wrapped Halibut with salted pistachios, roasted potatoes, candied tomatoes, and lemon pesto aioli” was awesome (CAD $44). An off the menu Kelly Valley 2015 Pinot Noir from Naramata, British Columbia was a perfect match. While not inexpensive, the entire experience was good value.
Food and service was fantastic! Very friendly wait staff, great food and drink option! We sat in the lounge and it was very comfy with great atmosphere!
Nicely made fresh food. It was a bit overpriced considering the restaurant is small and overlooks a courtyard.
