Casta Diva Ratings and Reviews
Word of caution. Cash only. And bring a lot of cash. Also they don't serve drinks. You must bring your own bottle. While that also keeps the price down, it will still cost $50 per person. A lot of truffle oil all over. The pasta was ok, but the sauces a bit overpowering.
We used to eat at Cafe Casta Diva regularly, but this visit was the first in about 14 months. Food is always very good, but I had gotten a little bored by their choices and realized that was still true, even after 14 months. There is usually only 1 vegetarian option which, these days, seems minimal. In mid-May, offerings included dishes with pumpkin, parsnips, and leeks, huge veal chops, and grilled lamb. Lots of heavy choices and winter vegetables. Their grilled artichokes used to be a favorite, but this time they were in a shallow bowl and swimming in too much rich sauce. Local strawberries are now in season but, alas, they were missing--even as garnish for the desserts. Yes, the food was good and we had a nice dinner but, once again, I'm not thinking that I need to go back soon. Four people had 2 appetizers, 4 entrees (3 were pasta dishes which are ~$6-15 less than other entrees), 2 desserts, and 1 coffee. With a tip, the bill was $200. BYOB; cash only.
Casta Diva.. perfect name. Perfect food. Perfect staff.. Perfect Vibe.. Perfect is an understatement really. My girls and I had chose Casta Diva as a last minute spot for our second girls night out and I am so glad that everywhere was booked because this place is a m...f...ing gem. Shoot, we took the last slot of the night for Casta Diva. We knew it would be an amazing experience right off the back the moment we arrived because there was a long line of people who just happily waiting for a seat (just in case anyone cancels). Ugh.. Perfection.
I was celebrating a friends' birthday. The menu was short but very enticing.
The goat cheese & beet salad was visually pleasing and equally delicious! We had the seafood mix main course which was satisfying and the flourless chocolate cake was the best I've ever had and worth every calorie.
This is one of the great little boutique restaurants in the city that is refined, elegant and delicious! The menu is not overwhelming so everything is under control and crafted beautifully both in presentation and quality. Had a grilled artichoke dish to start that was exquisite and a Wild Boar shank that was fall off the bone delicious. The wild salmon was done to perfection and flavorful! A great place to go for a fabulous culinary experience. BYOB & cash only.
Costa Diva is one of our favorites in Philadelphia. I would say our very favorite BYOB!! We went for my husband's birthday. All four of us raved about every dish. The pasta is absolutely the BEST around. My husband had the vealchop special - and it was perfect. The wait staff are great. It is a small restaurant, cozy. You feel welcomed and very much taken care of. LOVE the CHef!!!
This restaurant was great! I took my wife here for Valentine's Day and she was extremely happy! The food is delicious and the pasta sauces were so rich and decadent. It's also BYOB which offsets the fact that it's on the pricy side (we spent $80 on an appetizer, two entrees, and just brought our favorite bottle of wine).
As usual, Casta Diva did not disappoint. Our friends raved about the lobster bucatini and the veal chop, and we all agree that the grilled artichoke appetizer is the best in the city. And, the chocolate creme brule is unbeatable. Great service, not at all overbearing, and upbeat atmosphere.
