We ate the breakfast buffet. The bacon was very good. Th waitress was less than attentive.
I'll put it this way, it was the only empty restaurant on New Years Eve. Hostess was nice.
Table service was horrible. We totally ignored. I had to get up 3 times to tell our banquet service we needed water and coffee. When they brought out the coffee it was cold. For $68 a person plus 20% service charge, I expected service. Ruined our Christmas brunch...
It wasn’t the restaurant it was the ballroom- we missed that in the booking - so expecting warm and cozy restaurant - got mass feeding - the two don’t compare for Christmas dinner - food was good not great - open air ballroom wasn’t what we were looking for - had the convention buffet feel
We attended the Christmas Day brunch. We enjoyed our service and that there were options for Christmas Day that didn't involve us cooking or hosting. This was an adequate, average brunch buffet. It wasn't a bad meal at all; just not worth the price that we paid in terms of brunch at that price point. We imagine the price is due to location in the Omni and that it's Christmas Day; we get it. :)
I love eating and I love dining out, and while I have experienced a wide variety of styles, ethnicities and price ranges of food, the one thing I care about is quality. I'm an open-minded and empathetic diner but simply put: this was far and away the worst meal I have ever had. The waitress didn't know a single drink ordered at our table despite us ordering from the menu; three times brought us the wrong wine (I ordered cabernet sauvignon and she brought sauvignon blanc); the manager had to come over multiple times because the wait staff didn't remember or understand parts of our order; and there was very inconsistent timing (it took one of us 45 minutes to get a glass of wine between ordering and sitting down).
But I can forgive those things - it was Thanksgiving, I get it, maybe not the most experienced staff is working. They wanted to be with their families or there were language barriers. Fine. They weren't rude, just confused. But the food was god awful.
My plate was genuinely frigid to the touch - there were beads of condensation coming off of it. There was a piece of plastic wrap on one of our plates - clearly, these were leftovers from the Thanksgiving brunch that they had packed away hours before, wrapped and put in the fridge, then just pulled out for us. And even if it had been fresh, there was genuinely no flavor. The stuffing hurt my throat it was so salty. This might make me seem like a prima donna but truly, I have pretty low standards for food and can generally find something positive in any experience. This was not even in the slightest redeemable. Plus, when we got the bill, a bottle of wine the manager had comped (because we didn't even order it ever...) was on the bill full price and it took two managers to help fix it. And it was even still a nearly $400 bill for food that was largely untouched.
Maybe it's better other days, but neither me nor anyone I know will return.
We went for the Thanksgiving Brunch. We were seated at a table but lost our table when we went to the buffet. This happened to another couple at table by us. I had to fill my wife's tea glass twice as the waiter never checked on us or took away any used plates. We we also received a bill with a 50% gratuity on it, which they changed to 20% when I stated that it was too much. Twenty percent was too much for the service we received, but it was Thanksgiving.
The food was good, but the overall value was not worth it.
Great selection of entrees, sides and desserts. Accommodated large groups or small. It was the perfect alternative to a home-prepared Thanksgiving meal.
We ate at the Thanksgiving buffet, which was upstairs in the banquet area rather than the restaurant. Beverage service speed was terrible.... Especially for water and ice tea. Food was excellent.
The only thing I would have changed would have been for there to have been Prime rib on the carving stations.
This was our first time visiting Cast Iron for a Thanksgiving meal. We were so impressed with the quality of food and atmosphere that I made a reservation for Christmas Brunch the next day. Hopefully this is starting a new family tradition!
Really nice setting inside the Omni hotel. With lots of leather, western decor and the fireplace lit, very nice. The steak was incredibly good. Food not over salted, was a nice change.
Nice menu for drinks.
I will go again, next time in area.
We were on a lunch break from a confercne wiht limtied time, and the maitre 'd sat us at a large table but no waiter or waitress came to our table for 15 minutes - I had to get up and find one, then our food took almost 30 minutes fater our order and made us late getting back to our conference.
My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at Cast Iron at Omni Fort Worth. The staff was so professional and nice. The food was delicious and the setting was so romantic. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Omni for a conference I was attending and had dinner and a breakfast at the Cast Iron. The food is excellent as well as the wait staff. Highly recommend the Cast Iron dinner for two. Can't beat that jalapeno cheddar sausage.
Very nice people with quality food. Service was a little slow but they made up for it with a free glass of wine. Recommended.
Lunch seems hit or miss. Ordered the red fish tacos last visit---excellent. Ordered them again this visit--not so good. Cold and no spice.
The REALLY good thing here is breakfast, especially omelet station. Buffet breakfast excellent
Abundant buffet. My husband greatly enjoyed his Father’s Day meal.
We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary here. We were given a special table by the fireplace and a free ceviche and dessert. We both thought our meal was the best we’d had in awhile. My husband had the Wagyu chicken fried steak (he said the best one he’s ever had), and I had the redfish. We topped it off with the peach and blueberry cobbler. The most striking thing was we were the only diners in the restaurant. It may not get much press because it is a hotel restaurant, but it was great and we’ll be back.
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! We even receives free dessert for our anniversary. We will definitely be back
Where to start? The decor was nice the service was good and not too terribly loud. Menu is limited but it all seemed appetizing. After that it goes downhill. My husbands chicken fried steak still had paper on the bottom with breading over it. They comped the meal but not the iced tea. That made no sense. We brought the chocolate cake home to our son and it was so bad he threw it out. Won’t be going back.
Very poor selection... the only items that were somewhat flavorful was the prime rib and chilled shrimp. Overpriced salad bar... more salad options than entreé and sides. Very disappointed... $180 for 2 adults and 2 child...laughable to think anyone thought the food served was on par with the price point. Mother's Day Brunch fail.
We went to the Cast Iron at the Omni Fort Worth for the Mother's Day Brunch. It was very disappointing. It was not at the Cast Iron but actually within Bob's Chop House-no signage, no nothing to tell us where to go. We received an email stressing the fact that we had to be on time or they would give our table away - we were on time but had to wait about 20-minutes. Finally got a table, I was holding my 1-year grandson and trying to get him situated, a 'manager' tried to hand me a glass of water and was perturbed that I couldn't take because my hands were full. The floor beneath's my Wife's chair was slippery as somebody spilled something - took three requests to have it wiped and dried up. Luckily she didn't slip. Took multiple requests to get a high chair. On the plus side the food was excellent! When it came time for the bill, took a long time to get the bill - the bill was wrong as it should have been 4 adults @ $65, 1 child @ $40 and the two little ones for free (2 1/2 years old and 1 year old). We were charged for 2 children @ $40 - I challenged the bill and it was 'corrected' however I never saw the breakdown just a credit card slip for $402. Luckily I noticed the 21% surcharge on the first bill. Still don't understand how the bill came to $402 - 4 adults $260 + 1 Child $40 + Sales tax $24.75 + gratuity $68.20 = $392.95. I guess the 1 glass of Dr. Pepper and the 2 kids orange juices were not included in the brunch - @ $65 you couldn't throw in a pop. Very disappointing. When I went to get my parking comped apparently the Omni does not have a relationship with the garage right across the street - cost me $18 to get the car out of the garage. On the overall a very disappointing experience and I'm not sure we would go back to the Cast Iron Grill. Have actually been previously on a weekend get away and thoroughly enjoyed both restaurants. Would like to hear back from the Omni but given our experience there customer satisfaction probably not a big factor. Peter U
The buffet was very impressive! It was expensive but worth it. The prime rib, shrimp, crab and smoked meats and cheeses were exceptional. So many choices and all so good! Thanks for a great Mother’s Day celebration.
Local Greens salad + shrimp was delicious! I’d come back just for that, but the wait staff was also very nice and knowledgeable of the menu and wine selections. Enjoyable!
The dinner menu is a bit limited, but there should be something for everyone. The food was excellent, and speciality drinks memorable.
Very nice and efficient breakfast.... would like to see lodge brand American made cast iron cookware. The made to order omelette was very good. The buffet had a variety of activities.
The restaurant was not very busy but the food and service was good. Loved the tater tot ‘kegs.’
My business partner and I truly enjoyed every single meal we had at the Cast Iron. The breakfast buffet was unbelievable, and the dinner menu is superb! The restaurant staff was warm, friendly, and sincere, which made the dining experience at Cast Iron even better! Thank you all for a great experience.
we made reservations but when we came on time- they had reserved the entire restaurant for a private party- made a a nice service recovery by providing us with a couple of cocktails and an appetizer at the Whiskey and Rye Bar in the lobby
We went for valentines and I guess I missed the memo about a preset menu. We were not able to order from the full menu so that was a bummer but the food was good. I would try it again.
The restaurant was understaffed on a Saturday night. Food was good but overpriced and some vegetables were undercooked.
My wife and I went for Thanksgiving dinner, we have done several holidays here in years prior. I specified my food allergies (nuts) on my reservation but still reiterated to the waiter, which he did a mediocre job at following through on. I enjoyed my local craft beer they had on draft, my wife had a stale Rose, the bottle had obviously been opened days previously.
First course was good, my wife had the apple chestnut soup, they did withhold the nuts from my salad as I had requested. Main course was decent for my wife who had the braised short rib, since it was Thanksgiving I went with the turkey, it was served room temperature, it was cooked properly and was moist but it had no flavor at all, no gravy or anything else to top it with, the small portion of stuffing wrapped with sausage was okay and 3 asparagus spears and tablespoon of cranberry sauce were decent. I took the turkey home to put gravy on. My dessert as I specified earlier had to be sent back due to allergens; my wife had the apple cobbler in a cold “hot” skillet. I pointed this out before he brought me the same out as a replacement; I got a warm skillet. I can honestly say I would have been just as happy with Boston Market thanksgiving dinner for a fraction of the price. We are not ones to complain much especially when at the place, not looking for handouts. I am sorry I talked my wife out of going to Eddie V’s for Thanksgiving dinner, I know the service and standards there are much better. I can not see myself going here for a meal in the future, especially not for the price point.
Ordered mimosa and the glass had lipstick. Reordered. Second glass also had lipstick. Very gross! The tab already came with 20% tip which I was not told upfront. The service was not worth 20% and customer should be the one to decide after the mean and not the restaurant/hotel even tho it was Thanksgiving.
I pretty much had the restaurant to myself with an early dinner. The waiter was great , when I asked where I could go to get a bottled water for my room he brought me 2 bottles.
We were seated immediately and water refilled several times.
No one came to the table for over 20 minutes
Menu was limited but the food was good. Service was fantastic. The staff very friendly and attentive but not overbearing.
