We attended a conference at the Ft Worth convention center. There were very few people in the restaurant other than a large party and us. My group of 7 waited 40 minutes just to get our drinks which was wine. No speciality drinks. They seemed to have many people working but the large party had all of the staff focused on the large party while ignoring the other few tables in the restaurant. The pork chop was delicious but others had the fish. They said the fish was rubbery and not very good. I think they need to work on being efficient with groups that come to the hotel since they are across from the convention center.
Food was not worth the price! So expensive for bad tasting food. The drinks were overpriced and had no alcohol in them.
The wait for drinks was way too long because they came from the Whiskey & Rye bar. Please add more menu options to the dinner menu. Lunch menu has more of a selection.
Good business meeting location.
I drove in from out of town and was on a set schedule, so I needed to have a set time at a lunch destination where I knew we would be able to keep on track. Loved that we were able to reserve through OpenTable! However, was a little disappointed that the restaurant wouldn't let us order from the menu - it was a buffet only lunch time and I didn't recall reading that anywhere on their site or during the reservation.
Food was very good, I had the Chicken fried steak and my husband had the fish and chips. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.
Great service by Antonio and the rest of the staff. Not crowded or noisy which made celebrating out 48th wedding anniversary a very pleasant event
Food is great but service is not so great. We ordered a drink that we never received and the waitress didn't come back until the food was almost out so we couldn't even remind her about it. The food itself took about 45 minutes to come out so I do not recommend them if you have other commitments (we had tickets to a show after dinner). The food itself was delicious, you just have to go if you have the time.
Here for the convention.
Service and atmosphere were great. It was our anniversary and we were treated like royalty. Food was very good. We are definitely planning on returning.
Good place for Sunday brunch. The eggs on the Omelet Station were were scrumptious. I had the Stockyards Scramble and loved it. My companion had pancakes and did not like them, especially since it took 30 minutes to get his order. His croissant was dry and pasty. That being said, the bacon and sausage were very tasty, especially the in-house blueberry sausage. The fruit selections were delectable, and out server was very attentive. It's not her fault that it took the kitchen half an hour to sling out 2 pancakes.
My wife and I went to Cast Iron for our 6th wedding anniversary. I asked to be seated by the fireplace and the restaurant honored my request. They also surprised us with a free dessert tray including chocolate cake, cheesecake and an apple pie. Our server was friendly and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised by our experience; it was better than expected. The menu choices are limited, there's only about 7 entrees. My wife order the Red Snapper and I had the Breaded Angus Steak. We had appetizers of salad and Elk chili. The portions were perfect. Our total bill was about $82.00 before tip. We truly enjoyed our evening and would definitely eat here again.
Last night at the hotel so I wanted a quiet meal, but not in my room. Service was awesome- young very pleasant staff. I would recommend eating here.
We hosted brunch for our family and friends prior to their check out. The room was beautiful and the service impeccable. A delicious send off and perfect end to a delightful weekend.
This was our Honeymoon. The food was good, but very overpriced for what we got. $18 for a three egg omelet and $15 for pecan and banana pancakes.
Food was cold off of the buffet (eggs, prime rib, potatoes, etc.) and overpriced. My son had to chew ice because he couldn’t get anyone to fill his water glass. My husband asked for tea several times. Desserts were lacking. Mother’s do not want cupcakes for desserts. We get cupcakes at the birthday parties and kid events we attend throughout the year. With that being said, the cupcakes weren’t the best. The other desserts weren’t good either. The food reminded me of banquet food. Also, when you charge an automatic 21% gratuity, waitstaff is not held accountable, therefore, they don’t have to provide good service, which is probably why our glasses didn’t get filled very often. We will not be coming back!
Thank you for your recent visit to dining with us for our brunch. We frequently make improvements to our facility as a result of feedback from our guests and we truly appreciate your time to do so. I will relay your message to the teams here so we can improve guest experiences. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you should have any other questions.
Great service! Fidel our waiter was great, very attentive!
Thank you for your response! We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again soon!
I made this reservation for 8 for my daughters and their friends for their pre prom dinner as it was in the same place as their prom venue. It was important that they not wait long to be seated and that the food was great and not take too long. Also, being a special night for young ladies I hoped for great service. My daughters said the food was amazing, they were seated quickly, they got out of there in an hour, and to top it off their server was wonderful. I was hoping it would be a pretty good experience for them but it turned out to be 5 stars and Im very pleased. Thank you to that Cast Iron team. Very much appreciate you.
Thank you for your review! We are glad they had a pleasant experience with us and we look forward to welcoming you back!
Ambiance was great ... fire was burning and live music was playing in the background, which wasn’t too loud.
Service was great. The staff was very polite and engaging; however, the food was “ok” and not worth the $145 we spent for a group of 5.
It took a long time for the food to come out, even though it wasn’t busy and we were pretty much the only people in the restaurant for an early dinner. When it did come to the table, one of the entree’s was “warm” and others were piping hot.
They provided a discount without my asking, which was great, but I don’t expect I will be returning in the future.
I was very disappointed in the service. The food is good but not worth the cost.
Our server was wonderful and kind!
Great service, food was hot and fresh, attentive servers and nice ambiance
Went there for our anniversary, had the buffet which was good. Service, however was really subpar. Server spilled milk on the table and floor and didn’t clean it up, we had to clean the table. She never refilled water unless asked to, and then I had to ask for a clean cup even though she saw the cup was dirty (I accidentally put coffee in the water cup). All the while, the floor still had the milk that was not cleaned up. Not what I expect from a well established restaurant located in the Omni.
Food and ambiance was exactly what I expected! Jose should be recognized for his professional and friendly service. People like Jose are what makes a restaurant in a five star hotel shine! Thank you!!!
Everyone was amazing! Though the young lady that sat us and took our drink order checked on us more times than I can count. She went above and beyond and we greatly appreciated all that she did. However everyone was very respectful.
Service was horrible. There weren’t many tables occupied so there was no excuse for poor service or no explanation for it either. Waiter sat us, took drink orders, disappeared for 15 mins Before we saw face again. Someone else brought our food 30 mins after that. Then we saw our waiter 30 mins later to give us our bill. We had 3 toddlers, asked that the hot dogs they ordered came out ASAP . It doesn’t take 45 mins to cook hot dogs when’s there’s only 15 customers in the place . Maybe that was the first mistake.
The waitress, Andrea, was wonderful. The food always good, but it really took them a long time to bring it. Maybe during the week is better, but on a Sunday the food came about an hour after we ordered.
Food was wonderful! Steak was cooked perfectly and the skirt steak dinner my husband had was unbelievable!! Bread pudding to die for!! Service was slow but it was nice we didn't feel rushed, just plan accordingly. The ambiance was so lovely; we sat next to the fireplace. Will go back again. Very friendly server.
Cast Iron was truly wonderful! It is the type of restaurant that is truly unique these days. The upscale Southern cuisine was truly spectacular!
The atmosphere was very romantic for a nice Valentines Day date or any date night. We had the chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. Both we absolutely delicious. The only downfall was it took almost 40 minutes for us to get our food. We will come back and try it again.
We had reservations for 6 PM and our play started at 7:30. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told the kitchen was backed up by 30 minutes. We felt a bit of a panic but shared our concerns with our server who said she would make our dinner happen. She did and we had plenty of time to eat our meal and get to the theatre. We ordered Shrimp and Grits and Waygu chicken fried steak. Both were delicious. We opted out of appetizers and dessert because of the time. The restaurant was a combination of groups of friends as well as families with young children. There was a gymnastics tournament next door and most of the competitors must have been staying at the hotel. The staff did a great job in spite of the kitchen back up.
DiAnthony (sorry if I misspelled it) was amazing! Thanks for the meal!
We ate the breakfast buffet. The bacon was very good. Th waitress was less than attentive.
I'll put it this way, it was the only empty restaurant on New Years Eve. Hostess was nice.
Table service was horrible. We totally ignored. I had to get up 3 times to tell our banquet service we needed water and coffee. When they brought out the coffee it was cold. For $68 a person plus 20% service charge, I expected service. Ruined our Christmas brunch...
It wasn’t the restaurant it was the ballroom- we missed that in the booking - so expecting warm and cozy restaurant - got mass feeding - the two don’t compare for Christmas dinner - food was good not great - open air ballroom wasn’t what we were looking for - had the convention buffet feel
We attended the Christmas Day brunch. We enjoyed our service and that there were options for Christmas Day that didn't involve us cooking or hosting. This was an adequate, average brunch buffet. It wasn't a bad meal at all; just not worth the price that we paid in terms of brunch at that price point. We imagine the price is due to location in the Omni and that it's Christmas Day; we get it. :)
I love eating and I love dining out, and while I have experienced a wide variety of styles, ethnicities and price ranges of food, the one thing I care about is quality. I'm an open-minded and empathetic diner but simply put: this was far and away the worst meal I have ever had. The waitress didn't know a single drink ordered at our table despite us ordering from the menu; three times brought us the wrong wine (I ordered cabernet sauvignon and she brought sauvignon blanc); the manager had to come over multiple times because the wait staff didn't remember or understand parts of our order; and there was very inconsistent timing (it took one of us 45 minutes to get a glass of wine between ordering and sitting down).
But I can forgive those things - it was Thanksgiving, I get it, maybe not the most experienced staff is working. They wanted to be with their families or there were language barriers. Fine. They weren't rude, just confused. But the food was god awful.
My plate was genuinely frigid to the touch - there were beads of condensation coming off of it. There was a piece of plastic wrap on one of our plates - clearly, these were leftovers from the Thanksgiving brunch that they had packed away hours before, wrapped and put in the fridge, then just pulled out for us. And even if it had been fresh, there was genuinely no flavor. The stuffing hurt my throat it was so salty. This might make me seem like a prima donna but truly, I have pretty low standards for food and can generally find something positive in any experience. This was not even in the slightest redeemable. Plus, when we got the bill, a bottle of wine the manager had comped (because we didn't even order it ever...) was on the bill full price and it took two managers to help fix it. And it was even still a nearly $400 bill for food that was largely untouched.
Maybe it's better other days, but neither me nor anyone I know will return.
We went for the Thanksgiving Brunch. We were seated at a table but lost our table when we went to the buffet. This happened to another couple at table by us. I had to fill my wife's tea glass twice as the waiter never checked on us or took away any used plates. We we also received a bill with a 50% gratuity on it, which they changed to 20% when I stated that it was too much. Twenty percent was too much for the service we received, but it was Thanksgiving.
The food was good, but the overall value was not worth it.
Great selection of entrees, sides and desserts. Accommodated large groups or small. It was the perfect alternative to a home-prepared Thanksgiving meal.
