A delightful experience
Mother’s Day Lunch was very tasty, especially the salmon and desert station. Food and presentation were excellent, and my mother and wife enjoyed it very much. The live music was also wonderful.
Wonderful Mother's Day brunch. The desert table was incredible. The views were beautiful. The service was friendly and attentive. Thank you! P.S. Great vegan options!
Fabulous Mother’s Day brunch!!! Would say they could throw in a mimosa for the Moms celebrating for the cost of the prix fix menu! Overall wonderful food and service and celebratory environment!
I made a reservation at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey Hotel restaurant, Cast & Plow for Mother's Day Breakfast with extended family. It was an absolutely terrible experience. First, it was not even in the restaurant itself. It was in a sparse meeting room with banquet tables, no decorations, a "buffet" that looked like something from a Holiday Inn Express. Although you could also order off of the regular Cast & Plow menu, the food itself from that menu was average at best and incredibly over-priced. The kids' pancakes for $12.00 were literally four silver dollar pancakes that combined, were not even the size of one regular pancake. We waited 20 minutes before coffee was served, overall the service was terrible and the "event" breakfast for Mother's Day was nothing but a lousy experience with terrible service, average at best food, overpriced, no ambiance at all and a huge waste of money. The Ritz Carlton should be ashamed of itself. I selected that restaurant knowing it would be expensive and that's fine - but not for some make-shift room with sub-par service, sub-par food and outrageous prices to go along with it. There was never any disclosure that breakfast would not be served in the actual restaurant. And we were not even staying at the restaurant - we traveled there to be in a restaurant - not a banquet room.
came for a mothers day sunday brunch and found a horrible buffet with nothing worth eating,
I have been here a few times so I have certain expectation on the service. Service was not as good, slow and unresponsive. Took a long time to get our food. We had to get up a few times to find our server. This is the Ritz Carlton, they are the benchmark for service (in academic text books). Get it together!
Cast & Plow is a fabulous farm to table restaurant and the desserts were delicious. We ate outside overlooking the marina and it is very beautiful. We’ll be back.
Such a great experience! Nothing beats the view outside and when it got a little chilly they turned on the heaters and brought us furry blankets
We ate at Cast and Plow 4 times during our stay. 3 the service was so bad, there isn't room or time to explain. The food was fine, the service was so poor it ruined it. A problem with management? Understaffed? One meal we were entertaining clients. It was embarrassing. And it came with a hefty bill. We expect more from Ritz Carlton. Hopefully, they will resolve these issues soon.
Very good food, although admittedly a bit overpriced. Good coffee, really tasty breakfast. Very polite staff, beautiful dining room and overall very comfortable experience. The service was polite but not as attentive as we would expect for a high end restaurant, such as this is. Service was on the slow side, and it was difficult to get the attention of our server throughout the meal. One request for a particular condiment was never fulfilled, so one meal was just eaten without it. After our food arrived we determined we wanted to order an additional side, but our server never appeared in time for us to place that order.
We had a beautiful Easter Brunch and loved seeing the bunny!
The service was terrible and extremely slow. The food was mediocre at best.
The ambiance is lovely. The service a bit slow and also took awhile to get things related to our meal.
The service lady who actually served the food had gave our plates almost like throwing the plates on the table she seemed rude I try to smile but she wasn’t having it . Our table was not even picked up or cleaned off . I ordered coffee with kaluia the coffee was cold and tasted like it been sitting all day . Our food had no taste the appetizers were good
The view, the food and the overall ambience are hard to beat!!!
One of our entrees was cold by the time it was served.
Great view and ambiance.
What a terrible experience! Made a reservation for our Anniversary dinner and asked specifically for an outdoor balcony table. Even got a request to confirm the reservation the day before and no issue was brought up. When we arrived, we were told no table was available outside as it’s first come, first served. I asked why weren’t we told that when reservation was made and then confirmed. Just....”sorry about that”. We were seated outside at a fire pit sofa to get a drink and see if anything would open up, if not we could eat there (not at all conducive to eating). We then ordered cocktails....which came out completely wrong. When we told the server, he questioned why we thought they were wrong. We went through the obvious missing components and taste. These were specialty cocktails from their menu that e should have realized were completely wrong. We were then told a table was available on balcony. Nobody walked us there and we had to see the only open table....and it was right behind a huge pillar with no view of the water at all. We waited for drinks. Nothing. So we got up and left. Told hostess and she didn’t care. Server didn’t notice. The only person who seemed to care was the parking attendant.
Nice ambiance beautiful view and a good service
Steak and salmon was very delicious.
Also the brioche bread we love it .
Definitely will go back for a special occasion.
Everything was top shelf. Wow! Really something else!
We had made a late afternoon reservation. When we arrived we were told it would be 45 minute wait to sit outside so we sat inside by window. Meal we had was very good but very disappointed to see that at no point where outside table ever need capacity. Multiple tables with no reserved sign stayed unoccupied throughout our time there. Quite unreasonable. Will never bother going to a ritz location again given this terrible treatment and service.
This place continues to delight. We were visiting for birthday dinner and drinks. The food, drinks, and staff were perfect. Can't wait to go back!
The Ritz is home away from home - spending many occasions and enjoyable times.
I was really surprised at how good this restaurant was for being in a hotel. The service was one of the best. From the hostess to the waiters and bus boys. Everyone was friendly and customer oriented. The specialty drinks were fantastic and the food was very good. I will definitely come back.
Nice buffet. Great service. Classic ambiance.
Creative, delicious Valentine’s Day prefix dinner. Impeccable service. A little pricey but worth it for a splurge.
Stunning views, awesome service. Will definitely come back here again!
Food was poorly prepared. No sophistication. Sand in my salad. Sauces too rich. Octopus way too salty AND tough. Beautiful setting outside, but the heater kept going off. All around disappointing given the setting and the clientele. Also overpriced for the product.
The food was fresh and delicious. The view was outstanding. The service staff, for a top hotel in the US, was mediocre, slow and relatively unfriendly.
We came to celebrate a 60th birthday with 7 of us. The staff found us a quiet area for or celebration. Samantha was our server and she was amazing. She had good suggestions and took care of us all night. People had the rib eye steak, salmon and scallops and everyone was happy with their meal. The tower of chocolate cake and the bread pudding were a wonderful end to our meal. What a joy to have a meal in an elegant setting where it was quiet enough that we could hear everyone at the table and share group conversations. A lovely location with excellent food and service.
The food was mediocre for such high price tag. The service was poor as well. It took 15 minutes to flag a waiter to ask for our bill. I expected more from such a prestigious hotel.
Family and friend
This place is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner & for any occasion. The food and drinks are exceptional and the staff is excellent.
We had a very bad experience on Christmas Day. I had called several days ahead to alert them that we would have two people in wheel chairs and would need a table that could accommodate them. When we arrived they showed us to a booth that was not wheelchair friendly. I told them I had called ahead asked why they were not ready for us. They then made us wait for a table and placed us far away from any view even though there was a request made days before for a table with a view. Many view tables were empty when we arrived. The Lobster bisque soup arrived cold. We ordered four steak dishes all with sauce on the side and cooked medium. Two arrived with sauce on and two with sauce on the side. All were cooked rare. We had to aske for steak knives from someone passing by as our waiter was never at our table checking in on us. All this for a prefixed price which was way below the standard acceptable from a restaurant of this caliber charging these prices o. A holiday.
Really good well prepared food. The salads were freshly prepared with local ingredients. I like that the list on the menu where the ingredients come from. The service was attentive without being overbearing.
We lunched at Cast & Plow during the week so it was very quiet with only a few other people lunching. The service was excellent - friendly and attentive - and the food was very good. We had the swordfish wrap and red quinoa bowl, and both were flavorful and ample in portion. The fries were also very fresh. The restaurant, in the Ritz-Carlton, was very stylish and clean. We will definitely dine here again.
High prices that match the Ritz Carlton brand for very average food. They don't know how to cook a medium rare burger... it just comes out well done. Service is extremely slow, even during quiet periods. You are paying for the location, view and atmosphere. Don't expect great food nor service.
Samantha, our server was extraordinary! She displayed great attention to detail and even surprised me with a birthday cake. This restaurant has an extraordinary view of the outdoor. I really recommend seating on the patio if you are given the option. The decor of the restaurant is extraordinary and this is a true Ritz-Carlton with outstanding levels of customer service. You should definitely ask for Samantha if you ever visit!
Quality food & service & beautiful place. Same w bar great staff & drinks.
Disappointed that the weather didnt cooperate to let us enjoy the gorgeous outside patio table
I love this place. It was absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations! I will be back next time I’m in Los Ángeles.
