Service was terrible. Server forgot our drinks completely. Server never asked if the food was good. He seemed to pay much more attention to the next table. They sat down after us, were immediately brought bread. We had to ask after our salads were already served. The bread was hard and not good anyway. Caesar salad, chicken marsala, bolognese, all good, not great. Cheesecake and tiramisu both good, again not great. I would rate salad a 7, Marsala an 8, bolognese a 7, deserts a 7, service a 1.

We all enjoyed our meals at Cassarino's. The portions are very large, so we came away full and with leftovers. Service was great. No complaints!

Excellent!! Our party of 4 all enjoyed our meals very much. We had eggplant parm, veal parm, bracciola, & the cassarino. The portions were huge and the sauce was outstanding. We started our meal with the Caesar salad, which was also very good. All of us took food home. Our server was very friendly and attentive. It was a bit noisy, but it was a Saturday night, so that’s understandable. Will definitely be back.

Rushed, Poorly Managed, and Disappointing Experience We chose this restaurant to celebrate a special birthday, expecting a memorable and enjoyable evening. It started off well, but things quickly went downhill due to poor planning and a lack of communication. When we arrived, we were asked if we would need more than two hours at our table. We said yes. Despite that, we were seated at a table with a strict two-hour limit. As the restaurant filled up, it became clear they had overbooked, and our dinner was rushed to accommodate the next seating. Before we even had a chance to order dessert, we were being pushed to wrap up. No one apologized or made any effort to fix the situation. The manager never came over to speak with us—only the hostess delivered the message, and it felt very impersonal and dismissive. No explanation, no effort to make things right. To make matters worse, my seafood dish had multiple bits of shell in it, which made it frustrating to eat and not what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, the evening felt rushed and poorly handled. What should have been a joyful, relaxed dinner turned into an experience we walked away from feeling disappointed. Definitely not a place I would recommend for a special night out.

We chose Cassarino’s for the vegan menu along with plenty of choices for our omnivore friends. The food was great. My husband & I had impossible sausage meals & they were generously sized, fresh & delicious. Our friends had steak & chicken piccata. Also very good. The drinks were delicious & generous too. The only downside was the noise level. The valet parking was a plus.

The portions were enormous. The food was fair at best. To begin with, our dining companions ordered martinis from the cocktail special offerings. They were convinced the bartender had forgotten to add alcohol. I enjoyed the Caesar salad immensely. Everything went downhill from there. The wild salmon was cooked to order yet overpowered with enough mediocre risotto on the plate to feed our party of six. I will give kudos to Nick, our server, who patiently served the main courses, allowing ample time for the table to finish appetizers.

We had higher expectations. We had to ask for bread. We had to ask for water refills. The tomatoes in the Burrata appetizer were tasteless. Entrees were very good and plentiful portions. Overall decent but not spectacular.

We sat at the bar which was our preference. We don’t love the upstairs dining space so we try to sit at the bar downstairs. The bartender was excellent. Good wine selection. Very attentive and friendly. The food was very good. I had the arugula watermelon and feta salad special and it was very good. It’s a starter salad but large so you could put a piece of salmon on it and call it a meal. Entrees were the Sicilian and a scallop special that were good too. Parking on Federal Hill is always tough but they have complimentary valet which is great.
