Our first time in Providence and we were recommended any of a number of Italian restaurants on Atwells Avenue. We selected Cassarino's and made our reservation. First of all, service was outstanding - efficient, knowledgeable, and attentive. Couldn't ask for more. The menu was varied and fully satisfactory for classic Italian. The wine list was also quite good. Everything was a la carte and a bit pricey. The lasagna I had was very good. The portions were really large and if you had a good appetite, this would be a plus. I would have preferred a smaller portion option. My spouse got the mozzarella sticks, which were done perfectly. The atmosphere was casual, and the vibe good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an Italian meal in Providence. You may want to consider sharing entree's.

Service was terrible. Server forgot our drinks completely. Server never asked if the food was good. He seemed to pay much more attention to the next table. They sat down after us, were immediately brought bread. We had to ask after our salads were already served. The bread was hard and not good anyway. Caesar salad, chicken marsala, bolognese, all good, not great. Cheesecake and tiramisu both good, again not great. I would rate salad a 7, Marsala an 8, bolognese a 7, deserts a 7, service a 1.

We all enjoyed our meals at Cassarino's. The portions are very large, so we came away full and with leftovers. Service was great. No complaints!

Excellent!! Our party of 4 all enjoyed our meals very much. We had eggplant parm, veal parm, bracciola, & the cassarino. The portions were huge and the sauce was outstanding. We started our meal with the Caesar salad, which was also very good. All of us took food home. Our server was very friendly and attentive. It was a bit noisy, but it was a Saturday night, so that’s understandable. Will definitely be back.
