Beautiful restaurant, professional service, good food...great Frutti de Mare appetizer.
We've eaten here twice before and thought everything about Cassariano's was perfect. Our most recent experience was not nearly up to par. An off night? I hope so.
Cassariano's is a wonderful restaurant with great food. We took some out of town guests for the Sunday night Jazz dinner. We had a fabulous time as did the rest of the diners. People were dancing, some diners got up to sing or join the ensemble on the piano. Truly one of the bests nights I have had in Venice.
Have dined hear many times. Presentation and food quality is excellent. One of the best in Venice with an ever changing menu.
Our go-to place pre-theater. Lovely sidewalk dining with ambience. Three scallops for $33 seemed a bit pricey. However, everything else made up for it.
Anthony helped tonight and the evening was magical. Very attentive and we enjoyed the fuss he made on my elderly mother. She was really touched.
Food was fantastic as well.
Thank you all.
We are full time residents. We know the best place to have a delicious meal. Cassariano rates tops on our list. We will be going back for a late lunch and dinner in the next few weeks. Our guests enjoyed it as well. They will also will be back. Five star Italian restaurant in our opinion.
We love this restaurant. We took our friends for their first visit, they said they practically licked their plates. The bone-in veal, the filet mignon, and the shellfish soup were all fabulous. The shrimp appetizers (we shared two of them) were a great start. Chocolate mousse was a perfect end. How could the restaurant improve? More professional servers.
Heard from several friends that this was the best Italian restaurant in the area, and we were certainly not disappointed. If first impressions are the most lasting, then Cassariano will enjoy many more visits from us. The food was superb; there wasn't one dish that did not qualify for a repeat performance. The menu includes mostly traditional Italian dishes, but we found them to be prepared as well as any we've had, and we've had a lot. Eggplant parmesan and veal scallopini were notable. Many had some delicious creative twists, e.g., a pasta special of rigatoni with a lamb ragu, risotto aroncini with porcini mushrooms beautifully deep fried, and a papardelle with Italian sausage in a cream sauce (pasta & sausage both homemade and as good as you'll get anywhere). Topped the meal off with a shared tiramisu served in a large wine glass like a parfait - delicious.
Our waiter, Michael, was friendly, energetic, and helpful almost to the point of being entertaining without going too far. Will ask to be seated at his table when we come back.
A decent wine list with good selection and not too over-the-top prices. Michael suggested a Sangiovese that was excellent and reasonable.
If I were to offer a negative, it would be their following the trendy presentation practice of piling the entrée & sides on top of one another. I prefer my flavors separate to combine as I choose. Especially since the stuff on the bottom often ends up soggy.
A bit on the expensive side but worth it and definitely not overpriced.
It was a lovely dinner with friends before the Symphony.
We have eaten here numerous times in the past and the food has been exceptional. Sunday night, four out of five of us found fault with our dinners. Tough veal, dry sea bass, unappealing presentation. You get the picture. Not sure we're eager to try again soon.
Had dinner Sunday night and the food was delicious. On Sunday nights a jazz band plays music inside and they are excellent. Very fun evening
We had stated it was our anniversary, but they never asked if we were celebrating anything. We were seated in a vey small two top. Food was excellent! Service was mediocre. The table next to us ordered duck, I think, didn't like it, sent it back twice and finally ordered meatballs. That probably had an impact on our service. This was unfortunate since our first visit was phenomenal!
Excellent Italian food. Great veal ravioli. Owner was very gracious and friendly. A bit noisy on a Friday evening. Great service.
Drove from Sarasota to meet friends for dinner at Cassariano. What a great place! Anthony was so nice to call us the day before our reservation to change our seating as the upcoming weather would have made it too cold to sit outside. The food was excellent. I have never seen a presentation on a veal chop like it was done here. It was amazing. Very hearty portions of food, and again, the quality was excellent. Anthony was also our server for the evening, and he made the entire experience even better. Will definitely be back.
This place had been highly recommended by someone we met at our resort so we made reservations and arrived early and were seated promptly. Our server, name: Elizabeth, acknowledged us a couple of feet from our table and said she would be back to take our drink order. When she returned, again she did not come right up to our table but stood as though she had "one foot out the door." When we wanted to ask questions, she said she would be "right back." She returned, with the same stance, and again, one of us was not quite ready to order due to need to ask a question re: wine list; she briefly answered a question and again said "I'll be right back." We did eventually order wine (which was very good) but when we wanted to order, she once again said "I'll be back." When she returned, I asked her if she could stand where we could see her and if she could give us a little more attention which she did briefly but she then said "Take your time and I'll be back." When we asked for more info re: house specials, she tried to explain and then said: "You'll love it." Fortunately, we made good decisions because the food was delicious! And when I told server that this was Birthday occasion, she told us about free dessert which was also excellent. So writing this review was difficult, as food & drink were wonderful but the service left us with the impression that we were not a priority and on thr whole, it was really not that enjoyable an evening.
The paradelle bologaise is favorite! I dream about that flavor for days. We have tried many items on the menu and they have been fantastic. Thank you for cooking up some great Italian!
Made reservation and were seated immediately. Great choices of food. Service a bit slow but they were busy
Marvelous dining experience !! Food was perfectly prepared and presented, service was outstanding, and on this night there was a talented jazz band entertaining us.
Must visit for any occasion.
Anthony was the best server and food was outstanding. Will be back
Table for 8. So enjoyable. The service, the food, the ambiance - everything! The appetizer options are wonderful. I had the melt in your mouth oh so flavorful Burrata and Proscuitto. Main entree was Pappardelle with mushrooms - my favorite. The filet mignon (I had a bite of my husbands) was like "buttah". Our service was phenomenal - Grazie Anthony!
First time to Cassarianos. I must say it was great. Been to a lot of Italian Restaurants around the area, and this was the best. No complaints. The waitress was very efficient and very friendly. I was greeted by I believe the owner. Very friendly. I could see he was observing everything going on in the restaurant, coordinating and making sure nothing fell out of place. When our food came out, it was HOT. That made my day!
Sorry no pics. I was too busy eating.
Just a great place to go. I'll be back.
Had reserve seating for 6 near window...very nice. Waiter extremely knowledgeable re menu and appropriately attentive. Everything served in timely manner and very good. Did not have dessert. Highly recommend for Italian food when in Venice.
Excellent! We have always loved Cassariano‘s but recently tried a neighboring Italian restaurant when friends came into town just to change things up. What a mistake!! We are back to bringing our friends to Cassariano! You should too. 😎
All four of us ordered the salmon dinner, which was excellent. We presented the waiter a list of restaurants recommended by Venice Theatre of which yours is one -- and it stated we would receive a special surprise. The waiter brought us a creme brule dessert and no plates -- just four long spoons -- during flu season! It was delicious, and we ate it anyway. (Our fault we didn't ask for plates.)
Sunday night jazz was festive and enjoyable. Service was outstanding, the Tuna preparatioin was a little bland, but fish was fresh and good.
We were a table of 4 greeted and seated promptly at 7:15. We were in the back room, which was quite noisy, although we managed to have a conversation. Our waiter Michael made a great wine recommendation which we enjoyed and the food was delicious. Bronzino special, chicken and polenta, and pappardelle Bolognese. Lovely evening.
We hadn’t been to Cassiariano’s for several years . We had occasion to be in Venice for a jazz concert and decided to see if it was still as good as we remembered it. And it was ! We split a seasonal salad that was great , with shaved Parmigian . My wife had a shrimp and bean dish , and I had the papardelle with sausage , delicious . Their wine selection by the glass, both red and white , offered numerous choices . We lingered over our coffees , which is always an important indicator for us , and it was fresh, hot , and very flavorful .
Our server was excellent , attentive , friendly , and not overbearing .
Our reserved table was was waiting for us . So we could not ask for anything more.
We just won’t wait for several years to come back
Fabulous all around great service, food and value. We go as often as we can love it!
The food and service met our expectations - actually exceeded them.
However when I make a reservation two weeks in advance I don’t expect my seating options to be either on the sidewalk with people walking by constantly OR inside at a table four feet from the food pick up area where all the waiters must go . To add insult to injury when I ask one of the owners to seat us in the back I am told there is nothing available. Yet not two minutes after I sit back down a foursome (my party was a foursome)
walk out from the back having finished their dinner !!!
Our party of 4 had mixed experiences. We would have preferred if there was an option to substitute entree side items. One guest did not care for the risotto. Although the sea bass was tasty, I was not fond of the concoction of vegetables that accompanied it. Actually, the lessor priced, ravioli pasta special, was our top entree of the evening. There were several options for a dinner side salad that all looked good. The Insalata Rossa salad was our top choice. The restaurant was busy and noisy. Our server, Mike, did well to stay on top of it. No one offered to refill our water glasses however.
Our favorite while in Venice. Georgio a delight, always with good tips on the menu.
Great as always. Food and service were excellent, and the atmosphere pleasing.
Great place for lunch and relaxing. Good cocktails.
Very friendly and helpful service with great food and decent wine list. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the Venice area.
We have been to Cassariano’s many times. Food is consistently well prepared and flavorful. Fried green tomatoes and goat cheese paired to make a tasty appetizer . We had scrumptious veal ravioli in marsala sauce and a heavenly gnocchi dish.
Service was efficient, with servers backing each other up if needed.
Great place to take your guests.
We brought friends from MN, and they loved it. The fish is fabulous and the pasta with veal Bolognese is out of this world. I love their lemon drop martinis as well...
Best Italian food in Central Florida!
This was a "light lunch" date with family from out of town. We drove 20 minutes and they drove 90 minutes. The food was good, the selection was good, the ambiance was just right. The service was a bit brusque, but maybe the waiter's wife yelled at him that morning. All in all a very good experience (the waiter even warmed slightly).
