Brucnh on Sunday was great. The wait wasn't very long to get seated and our waitress was there right after we got to our table. The food was delivered pretty quickly and our server was responsive.
The decor and the service were great but the food was mediocre at best. The French toast was dry and boring (not at all like the description) and the mushroom omelet was very basic with very little flavor. I won’t be back for brunch.
We had drinks at the bar while waiting for a table and the selections were good; though only one bartender covering a busy Friday night crowd. She kept up pretty well but could not be attentive. We were seated at our table and the noise level made conversation between the 3 of us impossible. We sat almost 20 minutes before the waitress realized we had not been served water or greeted. She apologized sincerely, but there is a serious management problem to have an unserved party of 3 in the center of the indoor dining area. The Food was great; beef short ribs, chicken and waffles and meatloaf!! Yum! The mac and cheese had a watery sauce which We did not care for; I would prefer a thick creamy sauce. However, the rest of our plates were cleaned!! I would try a second time to see if it was just a bad night for staff and I would try dining outside to eliminate the loud conversations and the food really was flavorful and good variety.
We had an enjoyable meal on the patio with our pup. As the night turned nippy the heaters came on to keep us comfortable. Happy Hour has nice deala and our meals were yummy (crab dip, chicken, crab ravioli and burger). Service was friendly and responsive.
Cask has become one of my most favorite Tampa restaurants. The food is inventive, consistent, and always delicious from burgers to salads to complete meals. Love the fried green tomato caprese and the B-T-C flatbread for lunch or appetizers. Tried most of the menu and never been disappointed. Service excellent and fun vibe. Check out the sign between the bathrooms. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Don’t ever go here.
Our meal was delicious. The server was attentive and helpful in presenting the menu for our first visit to Cask. They accommodated my son’s request for fried shrimp, which is not on the menu. We will definitely return.
Great service! Really enjoyed the breakfast tacos and bottomless mimosas.
We should have suspected something when the place was nearly empty on a Saturday evening. We sat at the bar and Brittany was terrible. She paid more attention to her cash register than us. We had to ask for menus, utensils, to place our order, 3 times for the check. We ordered a bottle of wine and she never poured again after the initial glass. The deviled eggs were chewy and not very flavorful, the calamari was small and the sauce way too spicy, and the mussels were TERRIBLE! Every other one tasted like mud. This was our fist visit to Cask and definitely our last.
The hostess was extremely put out about moving us from the thoroughfare table she put us at to a more comfortable table considering the place was only about 30% capacity. She seemed rmore occupied by her phone than Tthe customers. The food was interesting and mostly good. The ribs were mostly fat though. Our waitress was really attentive and nice.
We loved Cask! Our food and drinks were both delicious. We will definitely be back.
Seating inside was plentiful however we were initially seated right by the kitchen. Asked to move and we were relocated. Noticed that someone was sat at the table we just left. Strange that they had that strategy to seat people by the kitchen and it was noisy there. The staff seemed very junior, the valet and hostesses. Food was great and good beer and wine selections.
Food was really good and Our waitress Jasmine was phenomenal!!!
Food was very good and very creative. The pretzel appetizer is a large pretzel that is fried with a light and soft inside, the outside is lightly salted and served with an excellent cheese dipping sauce.
The low country carbarona is an excellent pasta dish, with nice helpings of fish, shrimp, crab and bacon, while the sauce has a nice spicy kick to its creaminess.
waitresses aren't properly trained in how to treat customers. lots of attitude when you ask for napkins isn't the way to treat customers, especially shaking your head as you walk away.
The place is nice, the staff and service was great. I was not pleased with the food. I ordered the short ribs, they were sold out. The server didn't know that. I ordered steak in replaced of the short ribs. I didn't care for that meal, I had also order a cheeseburger which taste burnt. I was pleased at all with the food.
I absolutely LOVE this place. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they no longer serve my favorite dish, lobsta mac n' cheese. That made me very sad, however, it's an awesome place!
Service was pretty bad. We ordered food for 5. Two came first and we had to wait quite a while for the other three. They were nice enough to discount our meals but overall we were disappointed of the experience.
Went for a non boozy brunch. Had the pancakes. Pretty decent.
We had mussels and
Excellent service and the food was terrific wonderful date night!
Very nicely decorated, nice ambiance. Service was good, our table was wobbly so manager came over and tried to fix it but it was still wobbly. I guess no big deal but for a pricey dinner out expect the tables not to nearly tip over while eating! Food was good, not over the top- ordered chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. Overall, would go back for maybe apps and drinks, but probably not dinner, just a little too overpriced for the quality.
It was very early for dinner before a show. The place was empty so our service was excellent. It was also happy hour pricing for cocktails and appetizers. Must try the buffalo cauliflower. The citrus scallops were also great. Excellent food and service. I’m sure the ambiance would be a bit different later in the evening.
Fav thursday night place!
Fav go to spot in Tampa! Best Value in town! Monday Taco Night is amazing ($2-$4 tacos!, $3 Coronas, $6 margaritas!) !! Thursday Ladies night has the best vibes and the best deals....all night!
Went there during Gasparilla and even with a reservation was never served. We were given water and menus eventually, but left after sitting for 20 minutes with no service.
The food was very good! My mother and I ordered the shrimp and grits. Unfortunately my mother is extremely allergic to pork and our food had bacon all over it! The description on the menu for the shrimp and grits didn't say that there was bacon in it. My mom was able to spit out her first bite and avoid being sick! I alerted the waitress (who was very nice and apologetic) and I thought perhaps the manager might come over to address the situation but got nothing. The waitress told me she spoke with someone who said they would be changing that on the menu soon.
Food was amazing. Bartender was not friendly at all. Had maybe 3 customers and still had to ask to order food from her. Can’t say we saw her smile once, but we did hear about her weekend as she spoke about the latest gossip with the other bartender! Never left a review before but being a business professional in Tampa, I’ve never had such a bad experience in the local area. Unfortunate when the staff doesn’t match the ambiance and value of the establishment they are working in. Wouldn’t recommend Sunday brunch, purely on service.
Great food and service. Sat outside. It was a nice evening.
My husband and I ate here looking for a nice dinner together before going out with friends. The food and drinks were fantastic, but the room seemed a little cramped and the noise level was higher than we would have liked.
Beyond disappointed. Looked like a cool place, menu looked fun and drinks looked delicious. Interior was kind of cool, get to our table and the seats were full of crumbs. We started to brush them off thinking the host would offer another table or clean it off for us. Nope! Ordered 2 drinks that should have been pretty much all bourbon and they tasted like simple syrup. Got the filet Benedict, steak was paper think and all fat, English muffin was burnt to a crisp but the egg was poached nice. Potatoes were tasty but cool to the touch. French toast tasted like a funnel cake and the grease after taste was gross. Ordered a couple drinks that are infused with cigar smoke thinking it would be a nice after brunch drink and clear the fried taste out of our mouths and nope, another fail. Just bland watered down bourbon is all. Had to wait forever to get our tab and while we waited, we looked around and noticed all the tables around us had tons of food left while they were paying...skip this place!
We went for brunch with our 11 month old. We were seated upstairs and rather liked it. Our server was great at first but we were her only table upstairs so she became MIA. The coffee she brought was warm, at best. Another server ended up getting us more coffee, a knife and our check. The other issue I had was with my order: eggs Benedict with filet medallions. The meat had fat in it, was difficult to cut and frankly tough to eat. My conclusion is it was filet, which is fine but say that and don’t charge like it is. Loved the atmosphere and our second server was super friendly. We’d go back but it left a tough taste in my mouth, so to speak.
The place was very loud and kind of a mess when we walked in for an 8:30 reservation. Lots of tables with plates sitting on them that needed cleared. Not a good impression at first. Also very loud. However, once we were seated our waitress was great and the food was very good. Shrimp and Grits were amazing. On the app side I really liked their tomatoes capri. Also had some good craft beers on tap.
Went on a Thursday about 4:30 pm. The valet guys tried to force us to valet or told me i could park in the street. There was ONE other car in the entire parking lot. All parking spots are about 10-20 feet from the door. We decided to just leave instead. When when told him this. He let us park. (I could understand if they were busy). Anyway...the hostess was great, she let us pick our table. The decor inside the place is spot on amazing. It happened to be happy hour app/drinks. We got a few of each. The deviled eggs are amazing and the taco trio is mouthwatering flavor in each and every bite. I ordered a French 75 and the bartender did my disappoint. I will be back as long as the valet guys are not rude again.- when we left they only had 4 cars in lot! We were gone by 5:45 before the big dinner rush.
It was my wife birthday and they arranged a table, with candle light for us. Made it a perfect night.
Loved Cask. We did an assortment of small plates that were all phenomenal. Wine list was great. TRY THE RAIMAT rose!!! I didn't think I was a rose guy.
Amazing as always! Shrimp & grits is the best in Tampa
Truffle Mac and cheese was awesome!
During our experience at Cask, our waitress was fairly absent and we waited long for everything. 20 minutes after ordering our meal I was told that the kitchen was out of the dish I had ordered, then, 10 minutes after ordering another dish I was again told that they were also out of that entree. I was disappointed in this, however, the other dishes we ordered were tasty as well as the cocktails. I enjoyed the unique atmosphere.
