We dined on Memorial Day during the afternoon - restaurant was quiet. All the food was good except the Cobb salad chicken wasn't cooked well. The zucchini fries were delicious.
The food was great and the service was absolutely fantastic!
This locations is in the midst of a vibrant area, with lots of stuff to do and see.
The food is great.
The selection are good.
Great menu for sharing plates and trying a number of dishes.
Very reasonably priced.
We were seated at 3pm for Mothers Day brunch. We found out the the brunch ended at 3 and so the reservation shouldn't have been taken in the first place. By that point many of the selections were already gone or left with a few crumbs. The individual cost was rather high considering the range of food available. Finally, we felt rushed by the wait staff as they attempted to turn the room while we were still eating.
Really good food and great service. We went with kids but would go back for date night.
Good place. 1/2 bottle wine inventory a little thin overall very happy
great for any occasion, loved atmosphere, service & food. Very good!!
The food was soooo delicious ! We will definitely be back!!
Wanted a central spot with a good beer list and nice ambiance. Made a reservation through Open Table, and then got into town earlier than expected. Called and they were happy to move up our reservation by an hour, even during the Friday crush. Promptly seated in the dining room behind the main bar. Lovely ambiance - great vibe, fireplaces, really a chill spot. A few luxurious couch/sitting areas for a lounge vibe, and while I guess the main dining room was a little loud the room we were in was filled with people but super quiet and romantic. Our server, April, was super sweet. She and the team did a stupendous job. She started navigating me through the impressive beer list, and knew her stuff. It was restaurant week, so they had a price-fixe special menu, but everything was interchangeable and could be mixed and matched. I started with a local CT double IPA from Beer'd Brewing, Dogs & Boats, and it was great. Wife started with a bourbon maple cocktail she was a fan of. As our appetizers we went bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. Classic and delicious. Also the octopus bruschetta with roasted veal Bone Marrow, pepperonata on toasted Brioche was fantastic. Cool combination of flavors. Entree-wise my wife enjoyed the Freebird, a pan seared half chicken with baby bok choy, duck egg fried rice in a pineapple soy glaze. It has all the certified humane, antibiotic free situation going for it, as well. I was torn, because one of the specialties of the house is the lamb pastrami reuben but the special menu had chicken fried steak. I went with the recommendations, again, and had the lamb pastrami reuben. It was good, but the lamb kind of overpowered and somewhat muddled the rest of the flavors. Good but not great. Wife also enjoyed the boozy mulled cider, which was perfect for a cold winter night. Awesome spot, if and when we are in Stamford again we will be back. Really impressed. Thanks for an amazing time.
Always a great place, little noisy this one night but it is always great food and experience
We've been to Cask Republic many times and the food is always outstanding. The chef had particularly wonderful specials for Valentine's Day and the upcoming menu for Stamford Restaurant Week is head and shoulders above the offerings provided anywhere else. Most Restaurant Week menus are just watered down versions of the restaurant's everyday menu but not at Cast Republic. We already have our reservation made for that week. Service is always attentive without being intruding. This is one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Stamford.
I met a group of friends at Cask Republic on a Friday night before going to the theatre. It has a busy active bar. The food was fine and the service was a little frantic in feel. I'm sure if we went back on a weeknight it would have a totally different vibe. I would recommend this as a place for drinks and appetizers.
Was busy eve, popular, friendly hostess and waiters, good food choices, were in the back room which was quieter than the front room. Steak very good, salad tasty and good size. Save room for lava cake or bread pudding.
good food and service.
price was moderate.
parking was very difficult.
Was on a 1st date and employees were great with the attention, left us alone at the right time, it was a nice perfect spot for the moment.
Food and service were underwhelming...........................................................................
Lovely atmospheric place. Food was exceptional, well beyond my expectations.
We needed a place to grab a quick bite to eat before walking across the street in a chilly rain to the movie theater. We didn't have high expectations at all, but came away liking the place quite a bit. The ambiance is warm and cheery. High ceilings dampened the sound from the bar in the early evening of a Friday. Service was attentive. Food choices are a bit limited and we had a lackluster soup followed by a yummy lamb pastrami Reuben sandwich. We will return for sure.
Good location and great service!!! I would recommend this for lunch and great for business functions.
You can sit by the fireplace and watch the game while you enjoy great food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Food and service were quite good. the Bloody Mary's were excellent
Great Small Plates and Beer Selection
The fireside dining room was lovely. Service was fabulous, we were pressed for time and the staff could not have been more considerate and accommodating. Food was great!!
Only draw back was having to make our way through the bar crowd , with a young child who was overwhelmed, to exit. A better path would be welcome.
Overall great spot, look forward to going back.
Perfect cozy setting. Food was great. No complaints. Would go back for an easy nice meal.
One of my favorite places in Stamford. Great layout, friendly staff and a great menu of foods/drinks. Service is always good, fast and the staff know their beers when helping you choose from their vast options. Highly recommend!
Food was pretty good. Some options were better than others. Was really loud and staff seemed a little stretched, though extremely nice and earnest. Will return, but might not be at "prime time".
Good food, but very meat-centric. Quite warm and cozy for such a large space. Great music selection. The place was really coming alive as we were leaving after dinner.
I was looking forward to trying a new place... I actually chose CR for my birthday dinner. We brought my two daughters ages 9 & 16 which was fine. The music was a bit too loud for my parents and myself however. The website did not convey that it the restaurant would be so loud at 7pm on a Saturday night. Food, however, was very good.
My whole family loves this place! Welcoming fun staff, good food and close to a lot of fun Stamford activities!! We highly recommend this spot.
