About Cask Bar & Kitchen

CASK 100yr old reclaimed wood floor and an antique back bar sets the tone. Cask Bar & Kitchen harks back to a by-gone era. One of craftsmanship and authenticity. Of dimly lit encounters, great conversation & carefully created cocktails. We offer hand drawn cask conditioned beers, a wide variety of craft beers and an exceptional selection of wines. Well informed waist coated Barkeeps will guide the most discerning of taste buds. The Kitchen continues the simple rustic theme with its selection of cheeses, charcuterie and wide range of small plate fare. The Cellar Bar located downstairs can be reserved for private events and incorporates a full draft system. With the same attention to décor and detail as upstairs it is the perfect setting for any event. “Classic Vintage Bar” as described by one customer and frankly we couldn’t agree more. We hope you enjoy!

We had a great time at Cask on a Saturday night for dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is relaxing. Food and drinks were excellent! Great for sharing small plates.

We really enjoyed our time at the Cask. Six of us were celebrating a birthday and anniversary before heading to the Billy Joel concert. It was a bonus to get a round table in the back. The food was perfect for what we were looking for. Our party got burgers and flatbread, but there were larger choices on the menu. Food was delicious as were the drinks, service was friendly and fast.

Took a chance on a new restaurant for my birthday celebration with friends. Wanted great food, great ambiance, great service, reasonable noise-level--wasn't disappointed! We all really enjoyed the experience, and I would definitely put Cask Bar & Kitchen on my list of favorites in New York. A real gem.

Love this place! Always feel welcomed. Kelly the Manager is wonderful, bartenders Rachel and Niall always a pleasure. Food is good, like the music, definitely a good energy. Highly Recommend, enjoy.

Cask Bar & Kitchen is a fun, neighborhood bar and casual restaurant. The white Sangria was delicious and refreshing. Our party of four was seated downstairs - it was quiet, cozy and the bartender was attentive. We enjoyed the truffle mac n' cheese, tuna tartare, kale caesar, margarita flatbread, bbq pulled pork flatbread and crispy cauliflower. Everything we ate was fresh and tasty. Cask Bar & Kitchen exceeded our expectations.

We have been to Cask twice now and were very happy both times. Great food, great drinks, responsive and competent but not overly warm and friendly service (to be fair, we had the same guy both times, so maybe it's just him). They have a range of great apps and for entrees they have very good salads you can add protein to as well as some excellent entrees. It can get really loud, so don't plan on being able to hear more than one or two seats away after 8 or 9. But for this sometimes mediocre Murray Hill area, it's hard to beat the nice setting, great menu and overall good vibe.

Made a reservation for 5 but 8 showed up. The restaurant kept their cool and accommodated as nuch as possible. Service was great but the drinks seem to be poured using a graduated cylinder.

Great atmosphere! Cozy and laid back. Philly cheesesteak spring rolls, brussels sprouts and califlower were the food highlights. I heard good things about the salmon. The chicken was good, but nothing to rave about. Drinks were good. Wish we were hungry enough to try dessert, because that looked the best.

Fantastic discovery in Midtown East... that mac and cheese was unbelievable! We had a mini cast meeting, the sound level was a bit loud, by what do you expect in New York? Would definitely return.

Our review may be biased by the fact we had our 4 and 6 year grandchildren with us. The restaurant was extremely noisy. The options were quite limited and very little for children. We had a combination of the small platters. The food was okay but nothing to bring us back again.
I can see that it would appeal to 20-30 year olds who have different needs for a good night out, than we had

Awesome place! Love, love the blood orange jalapeño margarita! Get the pitcher if you plan on having more than 2 or 3 at your table . The ribs are so yummy! Loved the lamb nachos ! The oysters were a real bargain and so fresh from 4-7pm at 1.00 each. Will definitely be back!

Cute, cozy place. Service was great. Was sat down immediately even though my whole party for our reservation were still on their way. Attentive wait staff, but they started rushing us out of our table which was rude, until finally they told us they had a reservation waiting. Would've been a lot better if they just told us rather than having the bus boy give us a dirty look when we tried to order more drinks. Otherwise, good place. Has a bar upstairs and downstairs. Does end up getting a little loud, but nothing more than a usual bar.

I met a group of friends for my birthday during their Wednesday happy hour. They were kind enough to put us at a group table up on the alcove separated from the main dining area. It was PERFECT. The service and ambiance is great. The food is tasty and the drink selections are awesome. The happy hour value is impressive.

Found Cask to be a great spot for weekend Brunch. The restaurant was dark but had been nicely decorated for Valentine's Day. Had a cute, off-beat vibe. Young crowd. We ate downstairs because upstairs was booked. Be prepare to sit on bar stools and high built-in banquet seating which was different, though not a problem. Our server was very helpful and pleasant. Lamb tacos were great. I would recommend for a casual, fun brunch - great for post-college demographic as well.

I dined at Cask Saturday night with 5 other ladies and we had the cozy, round table in the back. It was perfect for conversation. We ordered several of the appetizers and all shared. Mussels, tuna, flatbreads, fried pickles (yum!), Brussels sprouts... I know I'm forgetting some but everything was delicious. The portions were good, enough to share for sure.

The bar had a good amount of space to move around, it didn't feel like you were on top of people. It was dark and cozy but you could still read your menu. The wood and copper accents were a nice design touch.

The food was superb. I had the seabass and the veggies were a great touch. It seemed a little pricey but the happy hour drink menu made up for the higher food prices ($6 for a glass of rioja during HH).

There were five of us and we had a reservation at 6pm, we were the only group in the dining area until about 645 when more parties started pouring in. The noise level was still at a decent volume even when the dining room was full.

Food and service was very good. We were in the downstairs part of the restaurant and it was VERY loud. We had to shout to hear each, but we all had a great time regardless.

Expected a much better whiskey selection than they had, which was the main reason we went there. Though I had made a reservation a week in advance we got the basement section with the wooden stools. No major issue but sitting on a wooden stool for 2 hours is not so hot - can't you put a pad on the stool. We elected not to have dinner and stuck to the appetizers which were very tasty especially the sliders. The waiter in error brought us something we hadn;t ordered, the lamb nachos, and he gave it to us for free but it was not so hot. Overall a good but not great visit. Doubtful I'd come back.

Per usual, Cask served up a delicious menu filled with fresh ingredients reflective of the season. The flatbread with brie and figs was delicious, and the cocktails were perfectly refreshing. It's always one of our favorite spots in Murray Hill! I'll definitely be back for the spicy margarita.

The food was very tasty, but the entrees were small and overpriced (i.e. Scallops and Chicken). The waiter was aloof and clearly wanted to get us in and out. We sat in the back where the staff slammed dishes and silverware down as they came out of dishwasher or wherever they were cleaned. The biggest insult was that they started taking dishes away from the table while people were eating. Please leave the dishes until everyone is done. It's rude to take them earlier. The waiters just needed to wait another 5-10 minutes max for everyone to be done.

There are so many other restaurants in this city that have great service and food at the same price point.

I was so impressed by not only how great the food was, but how quickly it was served (but not in a rush-to-get-you-out kind of way). The drinks were absolutely wonderful. Adorable ambiance. Great for a special get-together. Great for dates. Not very noisy. Highly, highly recommend.

Staff rushed us and restaurant was fairly empty so there was no need for that. We also were not lingering, just eating normally. Interrupted us a lot and didn't say happy mother's day. Very cold staff, kept trying to take dishes we were not finished with. Not relaxing feeling
