Have been there multiple times and have been happy with it overall but this time rather disappointed. Food was below average, the place was so cold we had to wear our jackets to eat. Bad value for the money. Would not recommend going in the winter months.
I like to be seated upstairs as there is more room and where the best choice of table types include banquette seating for two to four and tables for two along the brick wall or by a large window opposite. It is a well worn place that exudes character and is a neighborhood favorite.
This is at least the 5th or 6th time I have been here and this is the first time I am unhappy.
Only one other time did I sit inside/upstairs - the other times were outdoor/sidewalk seating.
I thought the last time that there was a distinct bleach'y smell in the air, but I chalked it up to maybe they had just washed the floor, unfortunately it was there this time too
The waiter was inept and inexperienced - but very sweet/cute. However, he had no idea what he was doing.
The food was adequate - tuna nicoise - how can you mess that up - a stale hard boiled egg!?
Had to ask for bread - a partial roll came in a basket and had to ask for butter.
I was somewhat embarrassed as I had asked a friend to lunch and it was lackluster and not very good.
There are other equally mediocre restaurants in this neighborhood, but some better ones too.
They are worth walking another block or two, or four!
This place looks tired. Service unsatisfactory with persons we dealt with seemingly challenged in English. I even got a call from manager asking if I was going to honor my reservation. I told him I’d been sitting in the restaurant for ten minutes. I asked him to come to the table and introduce himself. No one came. Food was satisfactory but the experience was third rate.
the food was very good and quite nicely served. The waitress was helpful. The menu offered several good dishes. All in all it was a very pleasant evening and we will return again.
Incredible service. Delicious food. This is a real neighborhood gem. Have been going for years.
Excellent French bistro in cozy setting. Gem in the neighborhood
Casimir offered food most varying tastes and diets. Plus, the staff could not have been nicer. Give it a try!
Wonderful find -- delicious French food in a lovely and cozy townhouse setting on the upper east side. One of the best fish entrees I've ever had. Lamb shank also excellent. Last time every much enjoyed the steak.
Will be on our go to list for going out with another couple or just ourselves/family.
Service was pitch perfect.
A genuine French bistro on the Upper East Side, a real neighborhood gem!
Excellent food, attentive service, French inspired menu.
Casual dining with very good service and solid value for money.
Hearts of Palm fettuccine is there signature dish
This is what we have EVERY time we go, which is twice a month.
Great neighborhood restaurant.
Excellent high quality food. Happened upon it after a concert in the park and now it's one of my regulars. The Loup de Mer is fantastic!
The service was sub par but the food was great
New to the neighborhood, tried Casimir and was delighted to find a neighborhood bistro with really wonderful food, welcoming and helpful service, and outdoor seating. The calamari is incredible.
The French maitre d' is extremely personable, and makes all the difference in the dining experience.
Excellent as always
Very lovely bistro feel and authentic French menu
Charming waiter and delicious lunch!
Good wine by the glass suggestions
There is upstairs seating and it's charming
Sidewalk dining not fun these days because of construction on street.
Great neighborhood spot, with solid food. This was the third time we'd been waited on by a strange woman who seems to think she's part of the table and conversation...we had to interrupt her to get her to stop talking and pour the wine! Otherwise a very cozy and decent meal.
I've been going here for years and I'm never disappointed.
Service was awful. I went there for my birthday. We told our waiter and he did not put a candle on my dessert. He never refilled our glasses with water. He was extremely inattentive. He had no excuse the restaurant was not busy at all. We will not go back. Pity the food was very good.
Excellent food. Great wine or s
The restaurant this past Mother's Day was Beyond disgusting and horrible! We were served someone else's half eaten bread basket , The staff barely spoke any English only Spanish and they're only two waiters ( so normally busboys serving a full dining room upstairs)
The service was disgraceful. We waited for our brunch meal for 55 minutes. We were a party of 5 and 2 meals came first. Two more came out several minutes later and when we asked about the 5th meal, the staff seemed perplexed and annoyed. They said they would check and 10 minutes later the French toast came out cold without syrup. When we asked the other waiter for syrup, ours was already gone, he was annoyed and seemed to roll his eyes!
I had a business lunch and ordered the tartare and frites- prepared at table and delicious. And at lunchtime upstairs it was not crowded and was quiet enough so we could actually have a comfortable conversation- rare in NY these days!
The restaurant was simply amazing . You feel like you were transported to Paris .
And the service was wonderful ! Jasmine went above and beyond!
Very charming, quaint and enjoyable place. The food and drink are wonderful, and the staff is beyond kind.
Feels like you are in a left bank night spot....The manager Jasmine was very friendly and the service was great. And a bottle of Pommery is not too bad for 90 bucks!
Food and service excellent! Will be back! Very welcoming when you arrive. Always a great touch! Thank you!
