Cascal Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Cascal's several times and will continue to dine here. Two of us ordered four tapas plates and it was plenty of food for dinner. We ordered the fried calamari, the fried olives stuffed with cheese, the beef empanadas, and the roasted Brussel sprouts. All were delicious.
We especially loved the Brussel sprouts. The restaurant was full and energetic which I like. Even though it was a bit noisy, our table next to the window gave us some privacy and we were able to carry on a conversation without yelling. Will definitely come back again!
Pro's : nice place, online reservation very easy, seated right away, nice presentation, sangria drinks tasted so good.
Con's: server didn't come right away. I'm assuming because my friend didn't come on time but I was starving when I came and it would have been better if the server came right away at least to start with appetizer.
Food was ok. Ceviche was disappointing compare to other places I've been to. Sampler was ok as well. It is not something memorable.
This restaurant is definitely worth the drive. It is a 30 minute drive for me. When I walk in Cascals I feel good ! It has such a warm and vibrate feeling....There are many food choices but all of the ones I have chosen are wonderful ! I have eaten there at least eight times over the last few years. The first time I dined there it was for a work Christmas dinner. Give it a try you won't be disappointed !!
I think the restaurant food is very overpriced for the portions. Example I ordered the lamb chops from the main menu for 23$, the portion was 4 small chops of lamb served almost on a plate-sized like a side plate, with a few potatoes, dreadful, in all honesty, they should portion their food better, it's a joke to pay that much for such a small portion. We had a party of four, we all ordered from the menu, the total bill came to about 174$, with one drink (sangria) rest table water, we did have two desserts. But the pricing doesn't feel right. I would rather spend that type of money in a place that would offer a better ambiance, service, and attention. The staff here seemed rush and can barely keep up, had to flag down a waiter a few time's to get a refill on sodas. Overall I don't think I would return again, maybe only for a drink and appetizer at the bar but no sit-down dinner. Overpriced and overrated.
We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday and since we will be going to Spain one day, we wanted to try out the best in Spanish food. The tapas menu is very good. We ordered the Brussel sprouts that were definitely the best tasting Brussel sprouts we've ever had against any other restaurant. It had a sweet/savory taste to them. We also ordered the Beef empanandas and they were very good...tasty, great crust, very warm temperature. Lastly, we ordered the Paella Cascal and that was great, too. We highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. The food and service are perfect!
There was little attention paid to us, and all the food servers could do was run past us and just "dump" the plate at our table. Very, very disappointing considering it was an Anniversary dinner. Would not recommend unless you are in for a very fast, rushed meal. We got the check and the desert menu thrown at us at the same time - just really aweful.
My wife, son and I have been here for dinner many times, and it's always been great. Dinner this last Saturday was even better than I remembered, as we ordered tapas-style and shared several amazing dishes. Service was friendly and prompt, and we had a wonderful experience. I'm not a big review person, as many people now a days seem intent on bashing restaurants for small petty things, but these guys deserve a top review and I'm happy to give it.
Ivan took great care of us. We often order an off menu chicken paella which they are able to accommodate effortlessly. Not an inexpensive place, but the food and ambiance always make for a great evening. We always book using Open Table and are seated seamlessly.
On this occasion, we chose Cascal because the food, ambience & service were very good on our first visit, and the noise level was mild. This time, it was VERY loud -- hard on seniors --, but otherwise still excellent. The tapas sampler platter is delicious, and ample for three. The bartender was obliging and drinks were very good.
We will gladly return to Cascal.
A friend recommended me this place and I really liked it. The food is so good, I tried the albondigas and they were tasty.
We were 10 people and when we arrived at 8 pm in Friday it was perfect for conversation, but later around 9 pm the live salsa music started and it was difficult for us to talk as we were next to the group. I do like live salsa music but in this occasion I was planning to talk with my friends, so it was my mistake not to investigate if there was live music. I guess it is only in Fridays and Saturdays but not sure. I just mention it in case you want to call and ask. The place is big and there is outdoor sitting so you can just sit far away in case you want to have a nice conversation.
There are so many great things about Cascal. The location, the crowd, the ambiance, the service, the tapas. For this particular occasion I went there for the paella however, and I was a little displeased. It was fine, but didn't seem to have as much care as everyrhing else. I would highly recommend Cascal, but unfortunately, I would also recommend avoiding the paella.
Cascal is a good choice for a good meal with a lot of variety. They have good seafood, steak, pork and vegetarian selections (not necessarily vegan) asTapas style food servings so they are great for sharing. They also have a good bar that serves traditional Spanish drinks, as well as a full range of wines, beers and spirits. One of my favorite restaurants!
