Amazing food and amazing service!
We have enjoyed Casbah for many years...without anthing that would change many more years to come!
The word is consistent. Lunch or dinner whatever you order is always good. I had the $17 multi course lunch. I was filled to capacity. I started with the longtime menu staple the arugula salad. Followed by a half soft shell crab sandwich. Wow was that delicious. It was overflowing. Then the long time pasta orichette with chicken and cream sauce. Both my guests had a crab chopped salad bowl and they loved it Do yourself a favor when booking a trip to Pittsburgh don’t miss the Casbah on Highland Ave with free valet parking.
Ate outside but it was pretty warm and no fans. Server told me wine was dry but it was sweet. Salmon was mediocre. Service slow and unfriendly.
Having been to Casbah numerous times, this is the first Negative review I have ever written. The problem was due to the Crab salad. The description on the menu sounded excellent, however the execution was awful. My dining partner and I both ordered the salad. We literally had to search for the items listed among a sea of greens. The crab meat was plentiful enough, but the avocado, asparagus, and pickled vegetables were all but missing. We laughed at the situation when we found 3 one-inch asparagus "spears" and That was it. The 2 avocado pieces were tiny. What a disappointment, not up to Casbah standards. This could be a good choice, but was a huge disappointment. DON't order the crab salad, it is basically lettuce with crab on top.
Excellence in everything they do. One of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh.
Wonderful as always ...great food ... wonderful service ... exceptional value... will return
We always have a great time at Casbah- the staff is kind and casual, and the food is always great. The patio was a bit hot- maybe more fans or something, but it didn't matter- we had such a great Father's Day Brunch! The staff is excellent with kids- such a plus at a finer-dining restaurant!!! Thank you, Casbah!
As always, the food was FANTASTIC!!! The service was excellent. It's the best restaurant in Pgh.
as always, the service and food were super. its soft shell crab season and that's why we were there. This was the first time I noticed how noisy Casbah can get, though - we literally had to shout to hear ourselves. our server Will was attentive and friendly!
Delicious soft shell crabs!
This is a go to place! Everything is good, including the service,a real pleasure.
We dined at Casbah in Pittsburgh on 6/13/2018 and had a very enjoyable meal and overall experience. As an appetizer we had a cheese plate with 5 different varieties. For our entrees I had the Red Pepper Casereccia and my daughter had the Long Island Duck, both of which were very well prepared and quite delicious. Our server, Megan, did an outstanding job, and recommended a wine that turned out to be perfect. I would definitely recommend Casbah and would not hesitate to go again myself. It is certainly worth trying.
Our waiter Seth was wonderful and the whole staff was nice. The place was packed and so busy. It's a great atmosphere but we felt a little rushed. Considering that we were there on time for a 5:30 reservation I didn't like feeling that they needed the table so badly. But other than that, it was a lovely meal as usual.
Everything was wonderful. Had Tuna tar tar appetizer and Scottish Salmon as Entree and both were great.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Service was awesome.
Great food great service
Wonderful food well prepared nicely served
Thank you for great food, fine service, and delightfully relaxing ambience!
The noise level makes conversation impossible. We left after dinner so that we could get dessert and coffee elsewhere so that we could talk. Also, Your tables are very close together making it difficult for people using canes or walkers to navigate easily. We attended with two seniors with significant disabilities and were close to another table with a few others similarly impacted. Moving chairs between tables to permit passage of guests on walkers is distracting to all diners. This is unfortunate, as the convenience of parking in your lot and the fact that entry is easily accessible makes Casbah an ideal destination for frail individuals. The food is wonderful, as well. You have an elderly population that enjoys dining out, can afford to patronize your restaurant; but, it isn’t perfect.
Excellent experience as always
The food was wonderful! The server was very nice but not attentive at all. And it took about 1 1/2 hours. No refills offered at all! but the food was so good I'd just ask for another server.
Always good...never disappoints . I had a mushroom and goat cheese omelette which was outstanding.
Casbah has been our long-time favorite of Pittsburgh restaurants. The servers are impeccable (Brent was wonderful) and the food is consistently great. I always order the red pepper cassarecia and it is hands down the best scallops & pasta dish in the city. My husband loved the soft shell crabs. We always enjoy after dinner drinks with Fiona at the bar.
Good food and pleasant atmosphere.
I've been coming here for years for any special occasions and have always had a wonderful experience. This year was no different. The server was wonderful and helped us have a lovely evening out for my birthday after a stressful weekend spent with my family. The food was delicious and seasonal. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great dinner out for any reason.
Lamb shank was great. More than I could eat (took leftovers.) Eclectic pan-European menu.
Great food. All three of us enjoyed our meals. I had a hard time deciding what to get because so many of the options sounded great. It was a little noisy at first because it was busy out on the patio, but as time went on the noise level became more and more present. I was impressed with the service and the timeliness of when the food was brought out. Will definitely be going back soon.
The food is consistently of high quality: delicious and locally sourced. Danielle, our server, is the best - friendly and attentive but not over-involved. She is experienced and knowledgeable. The dining environment is great.
Great experience! Highly recommend.
We had a later afternoon dinner for 4 people. We were seated outside under the canopy. The sun was still up and it was hot under there. My guess is that it was 83-85 degrees and half of our group had the sun shining directly on them for most of the meal. The dinner and service was perfect, but the temperature of the room was very uncomfortable. I would definitely refuse to sit there again on such a hot day. You should plan to request indoor seating if you ever plan to eat there in warm months while the sun is still up.
Brunch was great!
Casbah has some of the best dishes in town. My only complaint(which to me is significant), is temperature inside the restaurant during summer.
Casbah has an air conditioned main seating /dining area near the bar and also a large enclosed dining area that does not have regulated temperatures.
My date and I were extremely warm the entire meal. It just wasn’t comfortable, overall. We will not be going back unless we can dine near the bar.
Casbah, when are you going to update your building? Honestly, the current setup is just unnecessary and is alienating many of your customers.
Brent was exceptional.
Excellent brunch! Best value in the burgh for wonderful food and great service.
my sweetie's BDAY!!! always amazing food and service. and it's soft shell crab season! you MUST go
Leisurely. Wonderful meal. Excellent service. The covered outdoor area is much nicer inside than it looks from outside.
The staff at Casbah handled my last-minute request to accommodate a colleague who is disabled. I truly appreciated their gracious help.
Wonderful food. All 5 of us lives what we ate. However be prepared to spend.
I went to Casbah with three friends and we were seated in the downstairs dining area that had great ambiance. There was also seating in the front which would be nice on a sunny day. We started with the hummus and a cheese plate, both of which I would recommend trying. The fresh, warm bread that came to the table was delicious as well. We each ordered a different entree and were all impressed with the presentation and especially the flavor. The canestri was a delicious vegetarian option that would satisfy even if you do eat meat. A friend had the gnocchi with lobster and was raving about it. We felt well tended to as the service was great. Honestly, we had no complaints and will definitely return.
