As always a great meal! Casbah never disappoints
We went to brunch for my best friends birthday. Everything was wonderful and our server Will was awesome. He made our experience really great and he was very friendly and attentive.
Wonderful service! Food was fantastic!
Excellent food and service
The food at Casbah was fresh and well flavored, the cocktails were outstanding and the service was outstanding. Great place to celebrate an anniversary!
The food and drinks were delicious. We started with the Mediterranean spreads, and then had crabcakes, seafood pasta, and filet for our entrees. Everything was fantastic.
We had an amazing meal last night. My salmon was cooked perfectly—seared on the outside, medium rare on the inside. My husband loved his swordfish. Our son said his chicken was incredibly juicy and delicious and our daughter enjoyed her pasta. The appetizer, sides, and desserts were also wonderful. We were sitting on the enclosed front patio area and it was a little loud, but otherwise a perfect meal.
We enjoyed all of our dishes at Casbah. My husband raved about the duck and I enjoyed the halibut. Atmosphere and service were great as well and the best surprise was the FREE valet parking. We will be back. Can't go wrong with a Big Burrito restaurant!
Wonderful friendly staff; very good food;especially the salads. Noise was a problem for four female voices a a large round table. It was great to see that Oliver was back in the bar!!!
As always it was a great meal and excellent service
Fantastic as usual -- even with a full house!
The food is always delicious and the service is excellent.
The food and presentation was impeccable as usual, though service was a little slow and we were there for 2.5 hours. The patio area isn't sufficiently cooled and it became rather uncomfortable for the last hour or so.
Focused menu. Be sure to enjoy the Mediterranean spreads with chickpea bread. Smoothest, richest hummus ever. Delicious flavors , perfectly cooked Halibut .
Excellent and unique Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a chic atmosphere. Good value.
There are two rooms, with the back one being adjacent to the bar. The font room, where we sat, is open and more lively.
We started with the goat cheese pasta appetizer, which was incredible. In fact, I might order a pasta entree in the future.
My girlfriend had a glass of Pinot Grigio and the salmon, and I had an Amstel Light and the crab cakes - both delicious.
Our service was attentive but not pushy.
I will be back.
Food rating was based on three food choices being very good (tuna tartar, a pasta dish, and the Long Island duck) and one appetizer being only fair at best. This was the charred octopus which was so chewy as to be nearly inedible. We have had that appetizer here in the past and it was very good, but not this time. The other issue I had was being seated in the basement. I was not aware they had a basement dining room, but they do with 5 or 6 tables. The room is dark and devoid of any kind of charm, in my opinion. Should we go back to the restaurant in the future, I would decline to sit in the basement room.
Pasta dishes were excellent. Appetizers and bread were fresh and full of flavor. Alexis was a gem of a server. Her suggestions were on point. Lily was training and Did a great job assisting with the meal. As a table of 4 we would have enjoyed being upstairs in the livelier environment. The cellar seating was too intimate and quiet for our party to fully engage. We will return.
So we have been to Casbah many times a since it opened and really like it. It has been probably 2 years since we were there. A couple comments:
The Spanish octopus was really tasty but it was a huge meal type portion. My wife can’t eat it due to allergy. So you might either cut down the size, make it an entree (best octopus ever was at Casa Tomas on Cozumel island). One other thing about it- I like the tentacles to be crispy on the ends.
The halibut was very good and my wife said the pork chop was good.
The flourless cake was lackluster. It was fairly dry. The combination of cherries and figs was good but not enough to overcome the dry cake. We seldom order dessert but wanted something sweet. So we were disappointed and didn’t finish it.
Otherwise an overall good dining experience for our 32nd wedding anniversary.
Always a good experience, friendly waitstaff, good food, and we love the atmosphere.
As expected, the food was excellent. Everything was delicious and so well prepared. Even the bread was wonderful. The service was outstanding. We had takeout from Casbah a few times during the pandemic, and it was great to be back in person. We were impressed with the remodeling. My only, and minor, complaint is that it was a bit noisy.
Had the charred octopus appetizer, the Alaskan halibut, and the filet. The octopus had fabulous flavor but was somewhat chewy. The entrees were, as has been our experience in the past, excellent but a little heavy and could use more acid for balance. We enjoyed the very rich but scrumptious desserts: the pear cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake. Service was excellent.
You can never go wrong at Casbah. Outstanding crab cakes and halibut. We never pass up the cheese plate. The quince paste and fig jam add the perfect accompaniment to the cheese. With the crusty bread you have a starter that is perfect. Great cocktails too.
Our server Barry is wonderful. He is knowledgeable, non-intrusive, and knows his guests.
A real GEM.
Outstanding as always! This is my go-to spot for special occasions and I am so happy to come back.
We had our anniversary dinner at Casbah and we're not disappointed. It was by far one of the best culinary experiences that we have had in Pittsburgh yet! The open-air style dining in the front of the building created a nice atmosphere, and the great service from the staff did the same. Our food was delicious, from the complimentary bread and butter to my wife's order of duck and my order of pasta and scallops. We are thoroughly impressed and can't wait to have a reason to come back and try more of the menu.
Enjoyed the food and the family for a celebration dinner. We enjoyed dining at Casbah
Excellent service and the best scallops I've ever had by a long shot
Food and service was outstanding. We had a table in the basement which is much quieter and cozier than other parts of the restaurant. I will definitely go back.
I am glad you all were able to survive Covid. I live in PHilly and I first came to Casbah in fall of 1996 when I was on a consulting project in Pittsburgh. My sister moved with her husband to Pittsburgh in 2003 and we have been going to Casbah every time I am in town. The food was as superb as it always is!
What a perfect date night! Delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere.
Outstanding food and first-class service. Casbah has long been one of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh.
As always Casbah impresses! The food, service, and ambience are just perfect.
Daughter and her husband in town from AZ. Waitresses were great to engage and then allow us to visit and enjoy the dining experience
Great service, we always enjoy our experience and meal here.
Excellent restaurant, a great place for quiet conversations
Service was not great. After eating we waited for about 15-20 minutes for our waitress to come back so eventually we asked another server to find her so we could get the check and leave.
Casbah contributes to offer top quality food and service!
Very well flavored, excellent service. Would go again!
