our server, Jamie was great as were all of our entrée's - the cheese appetizer was a nice selection
Continues to be One of my fave restaurants! Every dish excellent flavors, textures and overall preparation. Great service and ambiance...always a nice vibe and nice pricing. Already looking forward to our next visit.
This restaurant consistently offers a quality in every way: Food, Wine List, Service, Ambience.
We are fairly regular customers and recommend Casbah to all of our friends and family. We always have a great time here.
Going to Heinz Hall stooped for dinner at Casbah. We loved it. We were there many years ago and it is still the same neighborhood restaurant with quality food and good service. I always recommend this place as whatever you ordered is warranted great. We loved the duck and the bread chocolate raspberry pudding for dessert. Lovely. Compliments to the chef and the staff.
Reliably good as always.
Wonderful menu, service and good. Great option for lunch.
Going to Casbah is always a special treat! The food , service, and ambiance are first rate.
A lovely Saturday night dinner sitting in the courtyard area. Our server was excellent and helpful. I’d certainly come back.
Great as always. This gem within the Big Burrito Group always satisfies with great food, good service and wonderful ambiance. The fish dishes were excellent, and the lamb shank was truly a classic, and huge to boot. One of Pittsburgh best and most consistent restaurants.
Casbah is a top 10 Pittsburgh eatery. My experience was killer, as usual.
The experience was once again first class at Casbah. The food and service were both fantastic. We always have a great dining experience there, and we'll be back soon!
Octopus appetizer over charred...was told the tentacles were smaller than usual and that could be why they were cooked that way. My comment was shouldn’t the chef b able to adjust...
Great Sunday brunch menu for adults and kids - we brought a birthday cake and the staff brought it out with candles and cut the servings for everyone which we greatly appreciated. Very easy going atmosphere and great food. One of our favorites!
We love casbah. We have discovered the secret deal in pgh - their brunch! Took our parents and kids. Will go back!
I’ve been to Casbah numerous times and have had a great experience, but tonight (3/3/18) the chef chose not to accommodate my severe dairy allergy. I had asked if they could substitute oil for butter and was simply told ‘no.’ There is nothing on the menu that anyone with a dairy allergy could eat, so without being a little flexible, I was SOL. So I was only able to eat the hummus. Crazy thing is, that in the past, they have been very accommodating, so maybe the chef was having a bad night? Regardless, very disappointing. We will not be returning any time soon.
Casbah has long been outperform go to restaurant for important occasions, it has been consistently outstanding. I guess everyone has an off night, and this one was theirs. Much of the dinner was the usual excellent, but some was disappointing. The calamari and rock shrimp appetizer was great. The cassarechia with scallops and crab, which we always recommend to guests was superb as always. The duck was also great. However, my wife had the salmon a few weeks ago and loved it so much she ordered it again and this time it was overdone and was not seared as perfectly crispy on the top as it was last time. I ordered the short ribs, which were recommended by the waiter, and they were tough, and extremely fatty even for short robs (there was considerably mor fat than meat). The desserts were also, a mix. The bread pudding was exceptional and mout watering, but the cannoncini was not as good, fine, but paled compared to the bread pudding. I think it was a little bland and needed more blood orang to really make it noteworthy. Overall, the dinner was good, but disappointing by Casbah's standards. Again, everyone, including Casbah, has an off night.
Another Perfect evening and dinner at Casbah Food is Divine
Always wonderful with good service and knowledgeable staff. Food has never been a disappointment. Restaurant is a bit too dark though, esp. Patio.
All of the meals were very good with one exception. The buttermilk pancakes were burned around the edges and on one side. They were not really edible.
Everything was delicious. I always order the short rib ravioli. The house salad was the only item that dint excite me. It which was basically a pile of arugula...a few other sparse ingredients.
Our server Jamacia was perfectly attentive.
Casbah never disappoints . By far one of my favorite restaurants! This time, we were there for my birthday . The sea scallops were outstanding as was the potato leek soup and the pasta with fennel sausage. My daughter talked me into trying the tuna tartar which was amazing. Such a lovely neighborhood restaurant. We live in the suburbs and I never hesitate to drive in to go to Casbah!
This was a birthday dinner for my sister. Our party of four enjoyed our evening at Casbah. We were impressed with the menu selection and everyone got something different. The swordfish was wonderful and the steak was tender and tasty. The other two dinners stated they were also impressed. We were all glad the birthday girl chose Casbah.
We had a very nice time the food was great (a little salty though) especially the rib ravioli.
It turned out to be a very special birthday lunch with friends.
Took my sweetheart for a late Valentine's Day dinner. We had been once before and enjoyed Casbah enough that we decided to return. We were not disappointed. Our waiter was well versed on both the food offerings as well as the wine list. We shared an appetizer, had entrees, and then shared a dessert. We also had a bottle of wine with our dinner. Everything was delicious! It truly made our special night out memorable.
The food, drinks, and atmosphere were extremely enjoyable for date night! The swordfish and pork chop entrees were delicious.
Caasbah continues to be a Pittsburgh gem. Year after year its star never seems to fade!
Our server Fiona was friendly and attentive. The flat bread and baba ghanoush were outstanding. White table cloths reflect attention to detail yet this spot is not stuffy. Loved the neighbourhood and overall vibe.
Great experience from the cocktail hour all the way to dessert. One of Pittsburgh’s best dining experiences.
We had the scallops, pork chop, short ribs, rice pudding, and creme brulee. Everything was delicious, service was fantastic. Definitely recommend.
Casbah was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good
We were here for Valentine's Day and had the tasting menu & wine pairings. Everything was fantastic! The halibut and tuna tartare ranked up with some of the best fish I've ever had. Overall wonderful experience.
Always a great experience. Excellent food, service and valet!
Drinks just ok. Food just ok . Service just ok. Everything overpriced for the amount of satisfaction I received.
Fantastic. Appetizer of calamari and rock shrimp was wonderful as were the main courses of Scottish shrimp and lobster gnocchi. The dessert was chocolate tiramisu and did not disappoint. Our wait staff, Brent, was informative, attentive, engaging and warm—- made the visit to this restaurant extraordinary. Highly recommended.
Valentines Day. I got the tasting menu, but my wife had to pass because the third course was a steak and it was Ash Wednesday. We were surprised they didn’t offer a non-meat option. She ordered off the regular menu. All our food was very tasty. The wine paring complimented my meal very nicely, and the pours were reasonably generous. Service was good. Several minor annoyances kept it from being a stellar dining experience. In no particular order: The downstairs dining room was cool to cold. I had on a light sweater and wished I had worn a heavier one. Too much time passed between courses. Since my meal had four courses and my wife’s only two, the holdup had to have been mine, the tasting menu that I would have expected the kitchen to crank out in reasonably rapid-fire order. And finally, the background music. The volume was a bit too loud and the musical styles pretty wide ranging. A nice relaxing classical guitar piece would be followed by a somewhat jarring alternative work. Rather than enhance the ambiance it felt out of place.
This was a nice dining experience but not spectacular for a special occasion.
Casbah never disappoints. Fabulous menu, great ambiance and service!
Swordfish was overcooked, not worth the $150 total I spent on food
I love Casbah! My husband and I go here for our Birthdays every year. It is a special treat for us. The food is always delicious (best filet either of us has ever had) and the service is great! We came for our Valentine’s dinner recently and brought out 8 month old. I’m nervous to bring kids to a nice restaurant but our waitress the previous time (a couple weeks before for the birthday dinner) assured us it was acceptable. The valet man was warm and friendly and we talked about kids very briefly- he was great! However, when I got to the hostess stand I gave the hostess my name and she looked confused. She said is it just you two? Meaning me and my 8 month old. I said no, my husband is joining us. I told her that I noted on the open table reservation that I needed a high chair and she responded “we don’t necessarily see that” making me feel bad about it. I apologized to her and she said nothing in return and had another girl bring us a high chair. While this was not abruptly or obviously rude of her I still felt like I did something wrong.
Our server was awesome and pleasant and we had a great meal. Everyone around us and even across the restaurant complimented us on our son and how sweet and cute he was. That made me feel less bad about bringing him.
We're never disappointed at Casbah! The bar is "TV Free" so you can enjoy the ambiant lighting and music. We do wish they'd bring back their macaroons from years past; also, the Castrovaltrano olives. They replaced those with an Italian olive mix but I cannot eat them because I am allergic to garlic. All in all, it is one of our favorite restaurants.
