We had a very nice time the food was great (a little salty though) especially the rib ravioli.
It turned out to be a very special birthday lunch with friends.
Took my sweetheart for a late Valentine's Day dinner. We had been once before and enjoyed Casbah enough that we decided to return. We were not disappointed. Our waiter was well versed on both the food offerings as well as the wine list. We shared an appetizer, had entrees, and then shared a dessert. We also had a bottle of wine with our dinner. Everything was delicious! It truly made our special night out memorable.
The food, drinks, and atmosphere were extremely enjoyable for date night! The swordfish and pork chop entrees were delicious.
Caasbah continues to be a Pittsburgh gem. Year after year its star never seems to fade!
Our server Fiona was friendly and attentive. The flat bread and baba ghanoush were outstanding. White table cloths reflect attention to detail yet this spot is not stuffy. Loved the neighbourhood and overall vibe.
Great experience from the cocktail hour all the way to dessert. One of Pittsburgh’s best dining experiences.
We had the scallops, pork chop, short ribs, rice pudding, and creme brulee. Everything was delicious, service was fantastic. Definitely recommend.
Casbah was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good
We were here for Valentine's Day and had the tasting menu & wine pairings. Everything was fantastic! The halibut and tuna tartare ranked up with some of the best fish I've ever had. Overall wonderful experience.
Always a great experience. Excellent food, service and valet!
Drinks just ok. Food just ok . Service just ok. Everything overpriced for the amount of satisfaction I received.
Fantastic. Appetizer of calamari and rock shrimp was wonderful as were the main courses of Scottish shrimp and lobster gnocchi. The dessert was chocolate tiramisu and did not disappoint. Our wait staff, Brent, was informative, attentive, engaging and warm—- made the visit to this restaurant extraordinary. Highly recommended.
Valentines Day. I got the tasting menu, but my wife had to pass because the third course was a steak and it was Ash Wednesday. We were surprised they didn’t offer a non-meat option. She ordered off the regular menu. All our food was very tasty. The wine paring complimented my meal very nicely, and the pours were reasonably generous. Service was good. Several minor annoyances kept it from being a stellar dining experience. In no particular order: The downstairs dining room was cool to cold. I had on a light sweater and wished I had worn a heavier one. Too much time passed between courses. Since my meal had four courses and my wife’s only two, the holdup had to have been mine, the tasting menu that I would have expected the kitchen to crank out in reasonably rapid-fire order. And finally, the background music. The volume was a bit too loud and the musical styles pretty wide ranging. A nice relaxing classical guitar piece would be followed by a somewhat jarring alternative work. Rather than enhance the ambiance it felt out of place.
This was a nice dining experience but not spectacular for a special occasion.
Casbah never disappoints. Fabulous menu, great ambiance and service!
Swordfish was overcooked, not worth the $150 total I spent on food
I love Casbah! My husband and I go here for our Birthdays every year. It is a special treat for us. The food is always delicious (best filet either of us has ever had) and the service is great! We came for our Valentine’s dinner recently and brought out 8 month old. I’m nervous to bring kids to a nice restaurant but our waitress the previous time (a couple weeks before for the birthday dinner) assured us it was acceptable. The valet man was warm and friendly and we talked about kids very briefly- he was great! However, when I got to the hostess stand I gave the hostess my name and she looked confused. She said is it just you two? Meaning me and my 8 month old. I said no, my husband is joining us. I told her that I noted on the open table reservation that I needed a high chair and she responded “we don’t necessarily see that” making me feel bad about it. I apologized to her and she said nothing in return and had another girl bring us a high chair. While this was not abruptly or obviously rude of her I still felt like I did something wrong.
Our server was awesome and pleasant and we had a great meal. Everyone around us and even across the restaurant complimented us on our son and how sweet and cute he was. That made me feel less bad about bringing him.
We're never disappointed at Casbah! The bar is "TV Free" so you can enjoy the ambiant lighting and music. We do wish they'd bring back their macaroons from years past; also, the Castrovaltrano olives. They replaced those with an Italian olive mix but I cannot eat them because I am allergic to garlic. All in all, it is one of our favorite restaurants.
Always a pleasure to dine at Casbah
Casbah as always is the best. The brunch/lunch was amazing as usual; with super fresh expertly prepared goodies with that Casbah twist. As usual, we didn't need to eat dinner this evening after a noon lunch! We celebrated 20 years anniversary having gotten engaged at Casbah as well as my daughter's first axel. We always ask ourselves, why don't we eat here more?
Joseph was awesome.
The food was amazing ! Had the pasta with scallops and crab meat . The scallops were huge and so yummy ! The cheese plate was delicious . We had dessert as well , the tiramisu cheesecake was very good ! Best food I’ve had in years !!
Lovely place - creative dishes - we didn't even make it to the entres because we got so many appetizers...they all looked so good.
Casbah is a long-time favorite for celebrations. Entrees & desserts are very good. Appetizers are a trite quirky (salad greens, soft cheese & burnt toast tips?). Need to improve lighting inside the restaurant, as many diners chose to dine on the colorful tented patio--even with temps in the 'teens. More direct lighting on the inside tables would help, and still keep the intimacy of a Moroccan home.
Consistently delicious appetizers and entrees. Knowledgeable and helpful wait staff. Good dessert selections, if you save room. Cozy, lively atmosphere where its possible to have normal volume conversation.
Consistently excellent food and service at Casbah. Eating upstairs or on the patio is our preference.
As usual, the food was delicious; however my husband and I felt very rushed during our meal. Upon greeting us, the host sat us at a table that wasn't in the best location and we asked if it would be an inconvenience to move to a different table. He moved us, reluctantly and when I said thank you at least 3 times he didn't seem pleased. Our waitress although very good, seemed to rush us to pick our entrees very quickly after we ordered 2 appetizers. Our appetizers came at the same time with the bread, and we took our time eating them. During our appetizers, THREE different servers asked us if they could clear our plates when we were clearly still eating. The appetizers were delicious and we do not get out to eat very often with young children at home so we were taking our time. Our main courses came out while we still had our appetizers, so we had to rush to get rid of those plates and it was a bit of an awkward exchange to try and make room for new plates. Our entrees came out 8 minutes after ordering them. Would have been great if we were starving, but this is a restaurant where we like to order drinks, appetizers and take our time. This was to celebrate an anniversary, so all in all I'd give the food 5 stars, but the service wasn't great this time around.
We had a great experience dining at The Casbah. The food was excellent as was the service. My 1st experience there and I am adding to my list of top favorite restaurants. Easily in the top 3 in Pittsburgh. I will definitely go back.
It doesn't seem to matter when I go or what I order, Casbah always exceeds my expectations.
Casbah is one of my favorite fine dining restaurants. They never fail to please. Excellent food, excellent service.
