Great food as expected. The staff was very accommodating and top notch in all aspects. Even our valet inquired if we had a great time! :)
Excellent service. Outstanding octopus appetizer and pastas.
The food was great—all three of us enjoyed our dinners. The waiter was absolutely excellent: prompt, knowledgeable but totally unobtrusive which earned him a good tip and I sought out manager to compliment. Such a very pleasant evening. We’ll be back!!
Our table was wedged in by the bar. It was an awkward location and heavily trafficked.
Everything was good but it would be nice to have new choices on menu.
delicious and creative food and fabulous wine list... wonderful outside patio
One taste sensation after another. Service was spot on, friendly and fun.
The quasi outdoor seating was very nice and the tables appropriately distanced.
Loved the food, service and ambiance!
The food was out of site. Humus portions are large so 1 is more than enough for two people. We chose two and have a lot left over. My only complaint is that they are so well organized that everything came out quickly. Our wine arrived in a flash followed by humus appetizer and we were not rushed to finish but meal was out as soon as we finished the humus. The whole dining experience was just an hour. Sat down at 7:20 and out at 8:20. Will definitely go back Amazon.
We had a another wonderful evening at Casbah celebrating a family birthday. We enjoyed the calamari, tuna tartare and baba spread for appetizers. I had my all time favorite dish, red pepper casarecce with scallops & crab meat. Others really loved the coriander crusted swordfish and the chicken. Our server, Will made our dining experience so much fun. He was attentive and knew all of the wine selections. Casbah continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh!
The food is delicious, inventive and seasonal. Our waiter was welcoming and informative, helping me make a decision which allowed me to taste several dishes. Desserts are a special treat!
Food and waiter were great but had a reservation and they made us wait 20+ minutes past the reservation time and did not apologize for the wait or do anything to make up for it. I would expect more for a nice restaurant.
The host stand was a bit out of order but once we were seated the severs were on point. Menu is very different, good options. Would be nice to have a smaller side salad option but what we got was delicious.
Would definitely recommend!
Valet parking is wonderful.
This was the my husbands pick for his 50th b day, we have had great experiences in the past, but not this time, very dissapointed, his portion was tiny, seemed like an appetizer, we voiced this dissapointment to the waitress and she asked how much would would have been enough, no visit from the owner or the chef to discuss, no monitary good faith effort, not even a free desert.
We went for the Spring Festa Di Pasta. The lumache and filet tips were both well prepared and served at a perfect temperature. Ordered a Salty Dog the grapefruit juice overpowered the gin the salted rim is a nice touch. Ordered a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. That was definitely to heavy following all of the pasta however it was delicious the next day with my mid morning coffee.
The pastas were even better than I remembered! Overall a fantastic date night. Highly recommend!
we enjoyed our dinner very much, My duck meal was outstanding
Casbah never fails to excite our tastebuds! From the soft-shell crab to the tuna tartare, the coriander crusted swordfish to the filet mignon, every dish was prepared to perfection. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us pair the wine to our meal. We've been coming here for 21 years, and we hope to return for many more!
Casbah has been one of my favorite brunch spots in Pittsburgh for over 15 years. They have consistently maintained the quality of their food. I also like the ambiance of the patio seating, especially during the many overcast days we experience here.
Service was amazing! I can’t believe I don’t remember his name, maybe Nate? Anyway. Food was good, but small portions and overpriced. Place is small and LOUD for an upper dinning experience. Certainly a different type of food offering for Pittsburgh area and a good cocktail list.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Everything from the cocktails to the innovative culinary selections was top notch.
From appetizers to dessert, the Casbah does not disappoint! Excellent service from Paige. Appreciated the precautions regarding masks. I watched a patron get up from the table to use the restroom, and the manager politely reminded her to put on a mask while walking through the restaurant, which she didn't hesitate to do. Thanks for a really nice evening.
Always delicious and a luxurious treat! I visit Pittsburgh twice a year for work, and always make it a priority to dine here. My favorite!!
Fabulous. Double pork chop was amazing as was the bread pudding
Casbah has a very nice Prix Fixe Brunch. I loved the Smoked Salmon appetizer!! The brunch includes an appetizer, entrée and cocktail for $35. This restaurant is part of the Big Burrito Restaurant Group (Mad Mex, Eleven/ my personal favorite, Soba) and the prix fixe is also offered at Eleven. I am glad that they continue this even with the pandemic. A credit card is required to secure your reservation. That is new and I am sure that this is because of the pandemic and the hit that the hospitality industry has taken. Your card is not charged if you keep your reservation. The food is great, the ambiance is great, complimentary parking (which is definitely a plus for Shadyside). The brunch is a win/win and it will continue to be one of my go to brunches in Pittsburgh.
I always enjoy their incredible brunch
They do need to do something about what they use to clean their wine glasses- the smell overpowers the wine to the point of not being able to drink
The food and wine at Casbah is the best in the city. The ambiance is also fabulous!
Always good food, good service. A bit pricey. The valet parking is a plus.
First class service - polite and attentive. Although we have a home along the coast, the salmon and swordfish were amongst the freshest, and best prepared entrees we have ever enjoyed at any venue. So nice to be visited by the pastry chef - indeed, a premier dining experience we will never forget
Casbah is consistently good. Our food was excellent and our server was one of the best I’ve ever had. I will continue to go back again and again.
Amazing food every time! Dustin the chef is a master artist
Food was good not great, portions just average. Service was good.
Wonderful atmosphere and absolutely fabulous meals! We started with the Mediterranean Spreads and olive sampler then had the swordfish and the Black Pepper Pappardelle for dinner. Everything was delicious!
Casbah came highly recommended by a faculty member at CMU and we made our reservation well in advance . The menu was tasty and had a new twist on pita and humus-the pita had fennel seeds for an intense flavor. The pastas were lovely and when my lactose intolerant daughter asked for her pasta dish to come without the feta cheese it was no problem. Unfortunately, the seating was a problem, our party of 3 ( one of us is overweight) was sent down a steep narrow set of steps to a banquette table in the basement. The hostess did not offer to pull out the table, but rather just left us to our own devices. It was obviously the worst table in the house and especially bad for someone who clearly needed a chair rather than banquette seating. When I went upstairs and explained the situation and our discomfort with the table in the basement, the male host quickly rectified the situation by putting together 2 tables together in the upstairs dining room, but it was not a pleasant experience for the overweight member of our party to go up and down their steep stairs twice and our upstairs server seemed annoyed by the change. It is obviously a nice restaurant with lots of regulars. We will try it again another time. We know that COVID appropriate seating presents a challenge for many restaurants.
Casbah is long a favorite destination for excellent cuisine.
Great venue for celebrating our anniversary. Food and service were outstanding.
Nice choice for Easter dinner - simple menu and all really well prepared. Casbah is a warm and friendly neighborhood dining experience. Great service staff.
Always a wonderful experience. Was our first brunch and it was worth it.
Everything was fantastic!! Delicious and wonderful service!
