We came back to Pittsburgh to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We moved from Pittsburgh because of career after our wedding, but it was where we met and married.
We loved everything about our evening.
The food was superb, our waiter Mark was super and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
Only hiccup was that our children had called ahead and wanted to pay for our meal as a surprise, and management dropped the ball on that. We happily paid the bill, . Our daughter was terribly disappointed.
It was so nice being able to eat at Casbah again. I never appreciated the patio area before Covid.
Aside from the seats being a little hard ( they could use pillows ), everything was wonderful. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and enjoyed our evening!
Everything was absolutely wonderful. The drinks, food, and atmosphere were outstanding. Always a favorite!
excellent service with delicious meal. Highly recommend to anyone.
One of my favorite places. Food is outstanding, however this night we were seated by a large celebrating table who were quite loud. Unfortunately for us, it made it difficult to converse to my friend.
Too noisy. Good food, fine service. Table too close to the door. Next time maybe downstairs or even in the bar area. Valet parking excellent. I would recommend with these reservations.
Our server was fantastic. His knowledge and ability to describe the wine, appetizers and entrees was so on target. The ambience was comfortable, beautiful and inviting. The attention to detail keeps us as returning patrons. Absolutely excellent all around.
Our choices included as Appetizer-Crispy Calamari & Rock Shrimp, Salads-Kale for my daughter and Arugula for myself, Entrees- Wild Alaskan Halibut and Scottish Salmon.
Great setup on patio. Service and food great as usual. First time back since pandemic.
Great food as expected. The staff was very accommodating and top notch in all aspects. Even our valet inquired if we had a great time! :)
Excellent service. Outstanding octopus appetizer and pastas.
The food was great—all three of us enjoyed our dinners. The waiter was absolutely excellent: prompt, knowledgeable but totally unobtrusive which earned him a good tip and I sought out manager to compliment. Such a very pleasant evening. We’ll be back!!
Our table was wedged in by the bar. It was an awkward location and heavily trafficked.
Everything was good but it would be nice to have new choices on menu.
delicious and creative food and fabulous wine list... wonderful outside patio
One taste sensation after another. Service was spot on, friendly and fun.
The quasi outdoor seating was very nice and the tables appropriately distanced.
We were promptly greeted and seated. Out waiter was friendly and attentive (shout out to Mark for the amazing service). The food was excellent - the best calamari we've ever had, beautiful presentations of every plate, and well-priced for the quality of the food and service. We truly enjoyed our visit to Casbah and are looking forward to our next meal here when we're back in the Pittsburgh area!
Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The food was delicious and the service excellent!
Food and service were top notch! Mixed drink was delicious and the calamari was some of the best I’ve ever had.
Our waiter was fantastic and knowledgeable. The food is consistently outstanding.
Place is solid. Dig that tomato basil soup with brunch like nobody's business.
This was our first venture out for a lovely meal in over a year. We chose Casbah because we've always enjoyed its food and ambiance. We were seated in a table that was in blindingly direct sunlight. When we asked to shift the angle of the table so we didn't have to hold the menus over our eyes to block the light, we were told that the sun would set soon and we should just be patient. Further, we were told they were not allowed to move any tables - despite the fact that the suggested shift would still maintain more than safe distance in the space. The complete disregard for our comfort and experience was very unlike what i had become accustomed to at Casbah and was extremely disappointing. Once they finally permitted us to change tables and we were able to begin our meal, we had a wonderful time, with excellent food and drinks. The initial table should not be sued at that time of day, as it could not allow for a comfortable experience for anyone. When you pay several hundred dollars for a dining experience, you should not have to hold a menu in front of your face to avoid being blinded. I certainly hope this was a one-time unfortunate gaffe on the part of the host.
The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Our table was in the basement which is not my favorite, but still very nice.
Loved the food, service and ambiance!
Absolutely wonderful service, our waiter was lovely and attentive. The food was delicious! We had the duck, pork, lemon cake and bread pudding. Will definitely come back.
The food was out of site. Humus portions are large so 1 is more than enough for two people. We chose two and have a lot left over. My only complaint is that they are so well organized that everything came out quickly. Our wine arrived in a flash followed by humus appetizer and we were not rushed to finish but meal was out as soon as we finished the humus. The whole dining experience was just an hour. Sat down at 7:20 and out at 8:20. Will definitely go back Amazon.
Always over the top food, service, and atmosphere. Consistently!
We had a another wonderful evening at Casbah celebrating a family birthday. We enjoyed the calamari, tuna tartare and baba spread for appetizers. I had my all time favorite dish, red pepper casarecce with scallops & crab meat. Others really loved the coriander crusted swordfish and the chicken. Our server, Will made our dining experience so much fun. He was attentive and knew all of the wine selections. Casbah continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh!
The food is delicious, inventive and seasonal. Our waiter was welcoming and informative, helping me make a decision which allowed me to taste several dishes. Desserts are a special treat!
Food and waiter were great but had a reservation and they made us wait 20+ minutes past the reservation time and did not apologize for the wait or do anything to make up for it. I would expect more for a nice restaurant.
The host stand was a bit out of order but once we were seated the severs were on point. Menu is very different, good options. Would be nice to have a smaller side salad option but what we got was delicious.
Would definitely recommend!
Valet parking is wonderful.
This was the my husbands pick for his 50th b day, we have had great experiences in the past, but not this time, very dissapointed, his portion was tiny, seemed like an appetizer, we voiced this dissapointment to the waitress and she asked how much would would have been enough, no visit from the owner or the chef to discuss, no monitary good faith effort, not even a free desert.
We went for the Spring Festa Di Pasta. The lumache and filet tips were both well prepared and served at a perfect temperature. Ordered a Salty Dog the grapefruit juice overpowered the gin the salted rim is a nice touch. Ordered a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. That was definitely to heavy following all of the pasta however it was delicious the next day with my mid morning coffee.
The pastas were even better than I remembered! Overall a fantastic date night. Highly recommend!
we enjoyed our dinner very much, My duck meal was outstanding
Casbah never fails to excite our tastebuds! From the soft-shell crab to the tuna tartare, the coriander crusted swordfish to the filet mignon, every dish was prepared to perfection. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us pair the wine to our meal. We've been coming here for 21 years, and we hope to return for many more!
Casbah has been one of my favorite brunch spots in Pittsburgh for over 15 years. They have consistently maintained the quality of their food. I also like the ambiance of the patio seating, especially during the many overcast days we experience here.
Service was amazing! I can’t believe I don’t remember his name, maybe Nate? Anyway. Food was good, but small portions and overpriced. Place is small and LOUD for an upper dinning experience. Certainly a different type of food offering for Pittsburgh area and a good cocktail list.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Everything from the cocktails to the innovative culinary selections was top notch.
From appetizers to dessert, the Casbah does not disappoint! Excellent service from Paige. Appreciated the precautions regarding masks. I watched a patron get up from the table to use the restroom, and the manager politely reminded her to put on a mask while walking through the restaurant, which she didn't hesitate to do. Thanks for a really nice evening.
