Casbah promises an exciting, sophisticated gourmet dining experience in an intimate, comfortable atmosphere. On the first floor, the year-round heated patio & Southern European-inspired dining room offer elegant seating in an open, warm space. For more seductive & intimate dining, the lower level, with a glass-enclosed wine room, stone-covered walls & innovative lighting provides the coziest of retreats.
Good was very good. The kits jen was accommodating. Very nice waitress. Plan on coming back in April.
great experience. our server alexis was awesome and the food was incredible.
Great food and ambiance! Downstairs is a nice secluded area. Service was exceptional! Great cocktails as well. Will be going back for sure.
Always good, professional with bold options. The pasta fiesta is fun. If you like bold options great place. If you want run of the mill options also very good
Pasta week and each dish was incredible!!
A bit warm and noisy in the outside area but excellent food from the pasta fest menu.
Drove from out of town after an unexpected trip. We didn’t even consider canceling our reservation. Pastafest never disappoints.
Went for the summer pasta festival. The Bucatini, heirloom tomato, stracciatella, basil, olive oil
was delicious as was the tried and true ricotta cavatelli.
A great place for lunch. A place to relax and enjoy the food. The service is always excellent and the valet parking is a great feature.
My boyfriend and I have always talked about going to a fancy restaurant. We are from rural West Virginia, and the access to food for a lot of people is hard enough, let alone to eat somewhere this nice. The staff and food was outstanding, and I am truly glad we chose casbah as our first time having a gourmet dining experience.
Brunch menu too limited - with main courses primarily add of pastas or egg based (e.g. omelettes).
Love Casbah! Favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh! This time we were seated in the downstairs area which I didn’t even know existed - it was great! More quiet and intimate than the upstairs but we loved the ambiance! Excellent service as always!
Service and food always excellent. Would like to see them change the menu once in a while.
My husband was not that thrilled by the ravioli with short ribs.
It was my birthday and I celebrated with my family. I was disappointed that Big did not send my annual birthday discount card!!
Outstanding lunch. Service was attentive. Crab salad had ample lump crap meat and flavorful marinade. Friend really enjoyed the omelet.
Casbah continues to be our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Always delicious with excellent service.
Appetizers and mains were very good. Desserts were fair.
The service was great. Good selection of beer and wine. The salmon entrée was fantastic.
Casbah is the A great restaurant that has been consistent for over 20 years. Thanks for another great night.
This was my first visit. I brought a work teammate. The arugula salad was delicious. The short ribs were excellent. My teammate had the duck and she liked it but liked my short ribs better. The dessert were just okay...not worth the $10. With tip, my dinner bill was $60 and I just had water...so a bit pricey. We sat inside because of the heat but I would have enjoyed the outdoor courtyard on a cooler day. They do not have a separate gluten free menu and they do not denote any GF specific items...so for me, that was a bit challenging but I request a change to my meal and they accommodated the change. It was good but not my favorite place to eat in the city.
We went for brunch and the prix fix menu had great choices and was a great value! The entrees were absolutely delicious, and we left feeling full and very satified. I would definitely recommend going for brunch if you're looking for more upscale dinning at an affordable price.
Casbah service was excellent. We were seated
immediately. I ate the crusted sword fish on a bed of spinach, tomato and mushrooms. It was delicious. The others in our party had the half roasted chicken with wild rice and greens. The noise level inside was a little high. We enjoyed our meals and will return for another fine dinner.
Nice quiet place with good food. The halibut was amazing. I was disappointed that they ran out of the octopus while we were there.
Too noisy to eat inside. A tad hot on the patio but quieter and could actually chat.
Saige was our delightful, knowledgeable server. Food was yummy as always. Watermelon was ICY but delicious as was the lemon and strawberry.
The chef's new sea scallops appetizer is even more delicious than it used to be. Delightful beginning. The lamb shank was tender and luscious. I was a bit disappointed in the bread pudding. I have missed the fruit bread puddings and had hoped adding raspberry to the chocolate pudding would tame the chocolate a bit. But it did not. Hope the fruit bread puddings will return some day soon.
Waited awhile for initial service with a reservation. The outside seating was not optimal and we had to ask to be moved inside where it was quite loud. Otherwise, the food, and the service was very good. Joseph did an excellent job and offered wonderful recommendations.
Five of us enjoyed a delightful meal, seated outside in the covered patio space which was pleasant even on a hot summer evening. Thanks to a good tip from our server, we ordered the sweet corn risotto to share as an appetizer and all of us loved it. From there, we enjoyed watermelon gazpacho and various entrees including the double-cut pork chop (excellent), the filet mignon (cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth), and the sword fish. The rhubarb crème du brûlée was divine. Service was excellent. Wine list included many choices and a broad price range.
Casbah never disappoints!!
I will choose this as my birthday dinner restaurant this year!
Excellent service. Excellent food with pleasing presentation.
Reunion with friends.
We both had seafood dishes, Scottish salmon and the halibut. Both were amazing. The scallop appetizer with tomatoes and avacado was also superb. We really enjoyed our dining experience here.
Always a great experience!
We are never disappointed and will continue to come back again. Kudos to the chef!
Tables too small & close together to have enough room to eat (knocked over my martini glass) while trying to have a private conversation on a special occasion.
I was extremely disappointed; my entree (halibut) was so over cooked that it was just this side of edible, my daughter’s entree (filet) didn’t have one of the advertised sides, and none of us enjoyed the dessert (cheesecake). A very expensive evening for 3 good meals, 1 disappointing meal, and 1 barely edible meal, plus blah dessert. Casbah has been one of my favorite restaurants for a long time, but if this last outing was representative, I won’t be coming back any time soon. Incidentally, service was excellent, even if the food wasn’t.
Perfect dining experience. Every bite was delicious, service was impeccable, and their Two Course lunch menu is the best fine dining value in Pittsburgh. This restaurant is always a slam-dunk if you are celebrating an occasion, hosting clients from out of town, or just want to treat yourself to a beautiful meal. I love this restaurant.
Casbah is not what it used to be! Had to wait over an hour for the main course with continuous apologies from the waiter. A kitchen mixup was blamed. The $24 pasta entree was good but the sausage content was minuscule. You decide if that is good value. The $ 12 salad was nothing special, big slices of colorful tasteless radish! The coup de grace was a dish with a chocolate inscription of “happy birthday” around the edge with 4 blueberries and two blackberries in the middle.
I Love this restaurant. The food and service is impeccable. Highly recommend it to everyone.
