Great food and service. Caesar Salad, Ravioli, Gnocci and Salmon were all excellent.
The shrimp in the crispy calamari and shrimp tasked tainted or not properly cooked in my opinion. The calamari pieces were fine. The beef short rib had no taste nor did the sweet potato hummus. It was room temp as well. I only dine in Pittsburgh once a year but this is not fine dining. That said, this is good neighborhood place and I thought the prices and service were on par. The valet parking was nice.
Delicious food at reasonable prices. Wine was lovely. Service was excellent and attentive. Will definitely be back!
Came to Pittsburgh to visit my daughter at school. We truly enjoyed our meal and 2 days later I brought my husband for a late night snack of olives, Mediterranean spreads and wine. Yum!!
Service is too slow. I know it was Friday night, but we were starving between the appetizer and the main course. Nice atmosphere though.
He best meal I’ve ever had! And I consider myself a foodie.. the gnocchi are amazing!!!
Always quality good food & service! Great short rib raviolis & wine selection is excellent!
Fantastic Turkish white wine! Excellent food and a wonderful server. Great to see a busy restaurant doing a great job on a Sunday night
This is one of our favorite brunch spots when in Pittsburgh and it never disappoints. This time I got the cheese tasting for my appetizer and campanelle - both were excellent. The apple cider mimosa was a seasonal treat. Highly recommend this place!
As always excellent!
Excellent service and great food
Disappointed. Food was good, but not great, especially for the price. There were no specials offered and the ambiance was meh. We were there early, so maybe it picks up later. Our server was friendly and attentive, but basement dining room felt old. Probably won’t bother returning. Wanted to like the place.
Interesting and varied choices. Recommendations by our server were spot-on!
Went to Casbah on Wednesday to celebrate my Birthday. We were very disappointed by the food and the service. Things started well with the octopus appetizer and the always great arugula salad. Bread would have been nice, but it was never offered. The main courses, however, were not up to Casbah standards. My husband’s swordfish was on the small side and overdone. My lamb shank was actually tough and flavorless. I’m not sure how you do that to a lamb shank! Once our food was delivered, our waiter never once came by to ask how dinner was. Even when I flagged him down for the bill, my still full plate did not prompt a query. We didn’t even get the complementary sweet with our bill. Definitely the worst meal we’ve ever had at Casbah.
Prices a bit high not balanced by food cost numbers. But, always enjoyable meals and service
We enjoyed the best duck and grilled octopus we have ever tasted.
Perfect dinner! Appetizers and all entrees were amazing. The tuna tartare was fantastic! I am so glad we went back after so many years it is a consistently wonderful restaurant.
The food was presented beautifully by very attentive and knowledgeable server. Each course was seasoned with great detail. The evening was to celebrate a birthday and it could not have been better.
Love the rock shrimp and calamari and the burrata appetizers! We have had them many times and they never fail to disappoint.
I always have a good experience at Casbah. The noise level is high though. It was difficult to have a conversation.
I always love coming to Casbah and always wonder why I only tend to get there once a year. It is not that pricey for an upscale restaurant and it is sooooo good. We enjoyed drinks and a mahummara dip with flatbread. Then came their signature arugula salad, served warm with goat cheese and pancetta. For my entrée, I returned to an old favorite -- the oricchette pasta with grilled chicken, cranberries and a decadent sage cream sauce. Always wonderful. For dessert, I had a creative blueberry cheesecake topped with milk crumbles and white chocolate chips. All wonderful. Must return SOON again.
Good food, a bit overpriced.
For the second time, when I asked to sample 2 wines, they clearly didn’t bring what I requested (asked to sample a Rioja and a Cab, and clearly got 2 Cabs that were lower quality than either one I requested!).
Ended up ordering from my knowledge.
When it happened once before, I thought it was an accident, but when it happened again on this visit, not sure If it was intentional by the bartender?
Fabulous food with an upscale farm to table concept in a charming restaurant with indoor and covered patio seating. Highly recommend!
Again, Casbah delivers. Great food, exceptional service and a nice environment. I had the roasted short ribs and it was fork tender with amazing sweet potato hummus. The hummus was amazing because you could easily taste the layers of flavor but it was so beautifully blended it was just phenomenal.
Jamie was outstanding!
We were so pleased with our experience at Casbah. The food was fantastic, and we received such excellent service. We sat on their patio, so it was a bit loud. We have already recommended this restaurant to many of our friends!
Fantastic menu, beautiful preparation, delicious results. Great atmosphere & staff as well. One of our best dining experiences ever, anywhere.. we’ll be back to fight you for a table!
Really one of our favorite restaurants. Love the food love the service love the bar. Oliver is a real treat!!😎
Fantastic from start to finish. Every detail. Food was outstanding and service superb.
Always spend special occasions at Casbah. Excellent inventive menus. Love the valet parking too.
If the restaurant chooses to differentiate reservations between indoor restaurant and/or terrace, they should have noted the options online when the reservation was made and not to leave it to the snotty hostess to blame the guests for not having indicated the option when they arrived. Yes, I was there with my parents who are in their late 80’s on Saturday night and the hostess tried to seat us under the covered terrace where the temperature was in the 80’s as she reprimanded me for not having requested indoor seating! And then she seated us at the table closest to the kitchen and bathrooms when 3 other tables for 4 sat vacant. I would not recommend this type of treatment to anyone. Our waitress Kim was fantastic!
Every time we go it’s delicious and never a disappointment! The gnocchi with duck confit was super yummy! Great happy hour wine specials. The wine bar is awesome as well.
Casbah is one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh. Patio seating makes you feel like you could be dining in Miami or the Mediterranean. Very casual and relaxed atmosphere with very creative food.
Quality and variety of food is excellent. In addition, the Chef offers seasonal pasta entrees that are second to none. Our favorite appetizer is the Tuna Tartare. For dinner our party tried the Salmon, Swordfish and various pastas, but the overall favorite was the Pork Chop....Fantastic!
Casbah has always been one of my favorite restaurants. The food, as usual, was very good. We had a server that basically couldn’t be bothered with us . She virtually ignored us the entire evening. Thankfully , the food runners and other staff were more attentive. This was my birthday dinner and honestly no matter how good the food is , a bad server can ruin the experience .
