Casbah promises an exciting, sophisticated gourmet dining experience in an intimate, comfortable atmosphere. On the first floor, the year-round heated patio & Southern European-inspired dining room offer elegant seating in an open, warm space. For more seductive & intimate dining, the lower level, with a glass-enclosed wine room, stone-covered walls & innovative lighting provides the coziest of retreats.
The entire experience was wonderful. Joe was very attentive and gave great recommendations. Can't wait to go back!
Oliver Seth and Seth really took care of us and the food was fantastic!
Food is very good! However, the service was very slow during brunch. It usually is not that bad.
We had brunch which was very good. The bacon was pepper coated around the edges and delicious. But there’s not much creatively one can do with eggs and toast. Nonetheless it was solidly good. The small pastries were delicious as well.
Casbah's brunch menu is wonderful. As always, our meal was very good and the service was excellent. Our server and additional staff who served us should be commended by management.
I love Sunday brunch at Casbah and their Bloody Mary's are the perfect spicy level.
Highly recommend the tomato bisque to start and have never had a bad brunch Entree.
It gets a little noisy at peak brunch time however.,
The short rib ravioli is absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great dinner out.
Great food at a longtime favorite restaurant.
Always great food. We get the hummus appetizer. Both arugula and beet salads are excellent. Great short ribs. Gnocchi with blue crab and seared scallops very good. Sear was a bit too much, but still good. Expect to spend over $50 per person with drinks. Great special occasion place. We will return.
My wife and I have been here a handful of times for dinner and it's always fantastic. Great food and great service. I love the specialty cocktails there too, they are flavorful and not too sweet.
Excellent both times we’ve been there. This time was for Valentine’s Day, and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Everyone was very friendly, from the valet attendant the moment we arrived, to the hostess, to the waitstaff, until the moment we left. Can’t wait to go back.
I’ve had great experiences in the past at casbah but I was very disappointed. I got swordfish which was completely over cooked to the point of tasting burnt, however, my plate was also very obviously old and cold. The burrata appetizer was delicious on the positive end. It also took them so long to get our bottle of wine that we had our food before our drinks - even though we had ordered them a good ten minutes after our drink order.
We were there to celebrate a birthday. We forgot it was the day after Valentines Day and it was packed!! It took too long for our cocktail order to be taken but other than that it was a lovely evening.
We've been going to the Casbah (Middle East fusion, for want of a better description) for many years. It's always good but, on Valentine's Day, the food was, if anything, even better than usual.
It was wonderful as always. Great food!
The Valentine’s Day tasting menu was sub par for Casbah. I never had a bad meal in the past at Casbah until this time. The vegetables were all undercooked and the strip beef was served lukewarm and was very tough. Something was going on this night at Casbah.
Once we said that we wanted the Valentine's Day menu the server grabbed our menus and I then had no idea what I would be eating. The salad was barely edible - hard components and far too much pepper. The roasted vegetables were hard as a rock. The fish was tasteless, the beef was perfectly cooked - but the potato dish was not good, the dessert was not chocolate (we have been coming for this for many years and delicious chocolate desserts were served). Valentine's Day screams chocolate! I have business or pleasure lunches there almost once a month - will rethink - even though the crab cake options are wonderful. The wine pairings were wonderful.
Business lunch and came here at suggestion of colleague. Previously enjoyed meal but regretted not ordering the jumbo lump crab salad. Today, we both ordered and it was fantastic! Great hummus too! Service was very good! I want to come back for dinner sometime!
The food is consistently good and made with quality ingredients. We also find the service is always exceptional. We highly recommend Casbah.
Had a lovely birthday dinner with my daughter, cozy on the covered patio to the sounds of a rainstorm. The calamari is exceptional, a mixture of sweet and sour and hot. We shared the short rib ravioli and mushroom risotto, both rich and complexly delicious. Consistently excellent.
Sat outside in the winter...it was cold and drafty...waiter closed a door that made it warmer...still hate the outside chairs and outside on a cold night...octopus app...good not great, the octopus was a little firm but tasty...pork chop entree very good, kale fantastic...short rib entree, bomb! One of the best things I’ve ever eaten period!
As always, Casbah more than met our expectations. If you haven’t been there yet, go!
I went with my brother to celebrate my bday, also to check out Casbah since I’ve had good experiences at Eleven. My first impression was the strange setting of the restaurant. We had to go through a dinner hall or “outside” seatings to reach the host. The “indoor” area was quite small and empty. But since it’s close to the kitchen, we could hear all the noise. The hostess greeted us quickly and guided us to our table, but she didn’t offer to help with our coats so we didn’t know where to put them until I saw the coat rack on my way to the bathroom. Our server was pretty nice and helpful. She’s knowledgeable about the food and helped me with my selection. I ordered the Duck and my brother had the Orecchiette. Our food was okay, not bad but nothing wowed us. My brother had a hard time eating the pasta since the sauce was too thick but noted that the cranberries saved the dish for him. My duck was juicy and cooked to perfection but the seasoning was not as great. It was a bit too salty which caused me to drink a lot of water just to balance out the salt. We both loved the garnish of our dishes and agreed they were the highlight of the meal. I appreciate the salted caramel at the end of the meal, but it was really hard to eat and I hated it. Wish I didn’t try it. Overall, our first experience at Casbah was good but we probably won’t be back since nothing seems to impress me.
Birthday dinner at Casbah last Sunday. As always, food and service were fabulous. We sat in the patio area which can be a little chilly if seated near the door. The only drawback for our family is the portions are a bit small - fine for my husband and me, but not quite enough for our teenage sons. Luckily, the bread is excellent and they are happy to bring more.
We hadn’t been to Casbah in years. I now see why it is still open. Staff is nice and attentive. They were very busy and we waited to longfor our food. The waiter actually admitted not putting the food in on time. Thing happen but he didn’t offer us a drink or anything to make up for it. The atmosphere is whimsical and comfortable.
The waiter hardly serviced our table.
Service was just okay. Didn’t like eating off of out door tables
This is my fourth or fifth at casbah and every time is as good as the last. One of my favorite big burrito restaurants!
GREAT dinner on Friday, February 8! We appreciated the bartender's generous pour, our server Adam let us pace our meal, and the food - the calamari and shrimp appetizer, his pork chop, my short rib - were superb.
Restaurant uses canned vegetables . For the price they charge this seems unreasonable. Mushroom Risotto was over salted and the mushrooms were few and far between. The ambiance is great, I guess that's what we are paying for, definitely not the food.
Food was excellent as usual and some portions seemed larger than previously. The gentleman who is the host was rude which was disappointing. It was quite cool in the restaurant especially since it was unusually warm outside.
Food at the Casbah is consistently tasty and creative and plentiful.
Would like to see smaller options for desserts and not as much chocolate-based desserts offered.
Also, everytime we have eaten at Casbah, the lights are way too dim. One cannot even see what "colors" are in the food. The lighting is doing a disservice to the chef's preparation. If you cannot see the food on your plate, and reading the menu requires a flashlight, something has to be changed. There's no joy in sitting in the dark while eating.
This is our “go to” neighborhood place...lucky us! The food is always outstanding as well as the service. Great for brunch lunch and dinner.
Great food. Very consistent. Excellent service. The “patio” area is nice but the chairs are metal mesh or lattice. Extremely uncomfortable. Bring a cushion!
Impeccable service and outstanding food. Expect a slow paced dinner if you order multiple courses. We were there 2 1/2 hours, but enjoyed the entire evening.
As per usual, had a great meal and a great time at Casbah!
Brent was our server for Sunday Brunch. He has been our server on several prior visits. Brent’s personable, friendly and helpful. It’s always a pleasure when he serves our table. And the brunch was delicious!
Over the past year, Casbah has become our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Food, service, drinks are always impeccable. The beet salad has become our new obsession, and you will not find a better pork chop ANYWHERE! The servers are attentive without being obtrusive, allowing you to enjoy your evening at your own pace. I cannot speak more highly of any restaurant!
Kelsey was amazing and we will continue to ask for her. The food was awesome !
It is a high-quality restaurant with excellent food choices. I thought the price was a little high but was very satisfied
