This intimate, small restaurant has the spirit and the charm you would find on Italy and other countries off the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Chef Daniele Dotti, a native of Venice, has created an eclectic menu that brings to the table the flavors, the traditional recipes and the freshness of ingredients so typical of this region. Our Mediterranean Branzino is delicious but if you are in the mood for good pasta, try our Linguine Fruti di Mare with a variety of sea food and fresh tomato or our special house made fresh pasta Fettucine Casanova. Now you can enjoy all of this right in the middle of the Grand Canal Shoppes.

The atmosphere and the decor are informal and friendly and children are welcome, but at night it can be ideal for a good glass of wine and a romantic dinner.

The menu was quite different from the website menu which was a little disappointing. But the four of us were pleased with our selections. The lamb chops were excellent but did not have a dipping sauce. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

We made a reservation 45 mins before our dining time and there were plenty of time slots available, but when we arrived at the restaurant the hostess said nonchalantly that they don’t have any tables available because nobody left. They offered to sit us at the bar without looking that our 10 year old was with us (she’s not short so not easy to miss), then when we told her we have a child she just said sorry without offering any solutions. My husband asked if we can be seated at the small table that’s empty and has only 1 chair, and they said yes but took a long time to gather 2 other chairs for us. We asked if they can move us once a bigger table is ready and they said yes. Took 20 mins until our server came to get us water, and in the meantime a larger table became available but no one came to move us. We had to ask to be moved, and after being moved we waited another 20 mins until someone came to take our order. There was zero service, our waters were never refilled even though all 3 glasses were empty. Fortunately we had water bottles with us so we drank from our own bottle. No one ever checked if our meals were ok. The only saving grace was that the food was amazing - al dente pasta and very flavourful. The food was very enjoyable.

It was a very pleasant business dinner. The service and the food was great- the restaurant however was very hard to find….! We got to the Venetian restaurant area 20 minutes before the reservation hoping to grab a drink before dinner but it took us the entire 20 minutes plus to find the place after unsuccessfully navigating on phones and asking multiple employees. Signage is needed.

The food did not have an Italian flavor. In fact it seemed more Mexican. The sauce was too thin. The pasta was cooked too long, but there just wasn’t any flavor. We were a party of there and everyone agreed it was the words Italian food we’ve had in a while.

Food was so-so, but everything else was terrific. I wasn’t too happy about seeing one of the staff yelling at the hostess. I didn’t speak the language so don’t know what was said, but the tone of voice, body language, and volume were unmistakable. Despite having a great waiter, good ambience, and fair prices for the quality of food, I doubt I’ll be back.
