Casa Rustica Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We live in Florida but own a second home in Deep Gap, NC, since 2002. We travel there at least 6 times a year and always make it a point to eat at Casa Rustica. The staff and service is exceptional as is the menu and ambiance. I usually order their spinach lasagna with creamy pesto sauce, the best I have ever had, and my husband has ordered their fish specials as well as their spaghetti with their meatballs. All their dishes are delicious and especially like their bread.
We definitely recommend Casa Rustica and always look forward to returning.
We were visiting Blowing Rock and wanted a good Italian Restaurant and couldn’t have been happier with our find. We made an easy reservation on Open Table and had great food and great service. It was about a 15min drive from Blowjng Rock to Boone- not too bad!
We were there in a Friday night and it was a bit loud, but that just means there was a lot of great conversation going on around us! We plan to go back the next time we are in town!
Or reservation were late 20 minutes. Although I must admit it was one of the busiest times of the year. On should expect such things. Consequently the service, food an ambiance was less that what I accustomed to at Casa. I will not plan another trip there during this busy fall time.
This was our first visit to Casa Rustica (rustic house) and I was not extremely impressed. The ambience just seemed all wrong for an Italian Restaurant. I guess I was thinking rustic as in Italian rustic, not Appalachian rustic. I thought I was eating in Mama's Flapjack House. Some folks may like that ambience but just not what I was expecting. The food was average and I do give them bonus points for having Grappa on the menu, although when I asked for it, the waiter had no idea what it was and thought I was asking for broccoli.
Very average. The service was a bit slow which is to be expected on a fall, mountain ,football weekend. The seating was cramped. The shrimp cocktails were good, the salads were very generic and boring. No one in our party was very pleased with their entrees, my eggplant was mushy and poorly flavored. The deserts looked the best although we didn’t have any. This restaurant appears to be just another Boone-Banner Elk,NC average eatery. Unfortunately the bar seems to be set pretty low.
I dined with friends recently and was disappointed with first time my experience. The service was excellent and friendly, the food mediocre at best. I had a pecan encrusted trout that was poorly prepared in my opinion. I am in hotels over 140 nights per year, and dine out constantly. I don't expect perfection from a restuarant, but I do expect the food to be prepared properly. The trout was extremely thin and overcooked, and the pecans were brushed on the service of the fish, and they certainly did not seem to be encrusted. The baked potato I ordered for a side was not enjoyable at all. It seemed to have been cooked early in the day, and constantly reheated. I could not finish it. I will not be returning to this location.
Great service. 2 things. Food was great only wish they put a little less gravy on the veal or chicken pram, kind of drowned out the meat. Also had coffee that was cold. Told server its to take off bill. In a bit manager or owner came over with a fresh cup a d said she was sorry but the server forgot to plug in burner.i said thank you ok no problem,,when check came both coffee was on. Not being cheap but proper thing to do was not to charge...if I'm wrong let me know. Other then that great food and wine.
We rolled into town a little late and we're able to get seated right away at 8:45- restaurant was buzzing. Great wait staff. Very cozy atmosphere. Our kids loved it even though it wasn't a typical kid-friendly restaurant.
We eat at Casa 1 time a year when we come to Boone for Miatas in Boone. We have never been disappointed. The food and service are always excellent. Wish were more aware of the music in the larger room.
All that being said, it was a very good experience.
