We have come here every year since the restaurant opened when traveling though Blowing Rock. Had to miss last year because we couldn't travel, but was so happy to be able to dine last night..
Excellent server and food was delicious. Didn’t rush us at all!
Ambiance was definitely not as detailed as I had hoped. It was more of a old school Shoney’s than “fine dining.” However, the service was wonderful and the food delightful!!!
Great meal as always at Casa Rustica. Ally did a great job with our service and the food was fantastic. We love making time to eat here every time we visit our daughter at App State.
Waitress was nice enough and attentive. She was also knowledgeable about the menu. Restaurant was hot and stuffy. We we put in the back section to avoid the noise. The small band was playing and it was too loud for the space. We ordered beef filet medium rare. One came medium and the other medium well. Waitress handled it well but by the time we got the new one everyone else was finished. We took the steak as take out. Experience and food were disappointing overall. Will not go back. .
Service was great, Salmon was salty and overpriced. Salad was useless.
I recommend only if sticking to pasta dishes.
Good service. Made reservations and got placed at table almost immediately.
Great wine list. We both had the daily special!
Calamari overcooked and not good. Pasta dishes didn’t have much flavor. Would not recommend
Dinner was wonderful. We were back in the area and wanted to give it another try as in the past, the food was very good yet not terrific...last evening it was terrific!
The dinners included a variety of breads (all excellent except the small long rolls were not fresh); others were extremely good and the dinner included an extremely nice salad with homemade dressings (also excellent).
My wife ordered a special which was Shrimp with Mushrooms and Spinach...and she truly enjoyed every bit. She said the meal was extremely tasty, the shrimp was cooked perfectly and the presentation was extremely nice!
I ordered the Chicken Marsala...and it was perfectly cooked. They use two different wines in the sauce for the Marsala,as per the waiter, and it was the best Marsala I have ever had.
For desert we shared the Spumoni...it was wonderful...and looked wonderful...as a matter of fact...when the table next to use saw the desert...the husband came over and said how wonderful it looked!
The service was excellent as the waiter checked on the table often...and made sure we were happy.
The dinner, the service and everything was wonderful; the location also seemed very clean.
WE will return....they went from average (on our list) to incredable!!!
This is our favorites for date night! The service is always on point, as is the food! Thanks for the yummy meal and pleasant atmosphere.
The food is excellent, service is fast, the soup and bread is the best part! We were told how good this restaurant is and have gone back now multiple times and every visit it’s always consistent taste, service, and wonderful place to eat.
Casa Rustica made for the perfect Anniversary dinner. Thank you to the staff. The food was exceptional.
We are fully vaccinated and on our first road trip since the pandemic began. Casa Rustica was our first in- restaurant in a long time. Our server Kaitlin was fantastic, the food and wine was terrific. It was nice to get out on the road again and enjoy the crisp mountain air of NC again.
The food is always good. The service is always good. They don't rush you, which is somewhat rare these days. The restaurant is reasonably quiet, which is very rare these days. The price is reasonable.
We had dinner for two. Wine selection was good however the Calamari was over fried and very salty. The house salad was average and not very dynamic. The tomatoes were micro diced and the Parmesan peppercorn dressing was underwhelming. The Anti Pasti plate was good. I had the veal piccata which was fair as the sauce was a bit goopy and my wife’s eggplant parm was passable. The espresso was served in two different size cups with no saucer, meh. The service was good however I felt as if they were really trying to to turn over tables as fast as possible. I won’t be back.
Visit quite often. Guests we bring for dinner almost always ask to return. Wait staff , (Read: Jenny), very attentive and helped make the evening with visiting Family a fine time. Music with Todd Wright and Co. is also an added bonus to cap off a fine evening.
Excellent food... Wanted Veal, but was out.... Needs a bit more Italian atmosphere.
Big portions for a reasonable price. The quality of the food was just fair. Almost impossible to park! Be sure to make a reservation. They get very crowded
Great food well served! Jenny was a very attentive and professional. Very good wine list. Chicken parmagian was my favorite of the evening.
Food quite tasty. Service quite slow, but with everyone being short-staffed, we forgave that. My father loved his platta de mer! Mom really liked her chicken cacciatore l, she ordered mild, but was still spicy. She said flavor very good, heat just too much. I loved their limoncello!!!
We didn’t see on the menu that soup/salad was included with the meal. Ordered an appetizer which we normally don’t do due to the amount of food. Tasty Bread. Entrees were recommended by server and we enjoyed them. We ate in the side room so noise level was tolerable. Overall a good experience.
Rather pleased with the service and attention to still lingering Covid restrictions. Slightly disappointing to have a Bay Leaf left in my eggplant parmesan yet the food was otherwise good. Overall a good place.
Worst meal ever. The "chef" has no clue how to season food. The only thing we enjoyed was the bread and the pimento asiago cheese appetizer. Onion soup...no flavor. Caesar salad...no flavor. Seafood with pocket pasta and piatto di mare....no flavor. Veal marsala....meat was dry and tough and NO FLAVOR. Had the veal taken off the bill. NEVER RETURNING. Frozen food is better!
Pouches served cold with hot meat sauce on top. 20 minutes to order dessert too long. Calimari and bruschetta were great!
Isn't it time to go back to fabric for the tables rather than paper, hand grated pepper instead of shakers, hand grated cheese instead of plastic containers, wait staff who offer olive oil for bread dipping, etc, etc. Casa used to be know for service...not just great food. Food is still great but the service is lacking seriously. I've enjoyed this little gem for 17 years now; I look forward to them bringing nit back....I hope!
Food was good. The noise is louder than I was expecting.
Incredible meal. Staff was great. Food was fabulous from our appetizers to dessert. Definitely try if you’re in Boone!
Great dinner and very attentive server. We will be back!
This was a new place for us after visiting Boone for several years. Great service and excellent meal!
Best Italian restaurant in high country. Appetizers were warm and fried to perfection. Salad and soup great. Main course of chicken picatta delicious, fresh, tender with just the right amount of lemon. Lasagna at $15 is always a great selection. Seafood was fresh and tender. And the teramasu was to die for. The waitress gave us ample time between courses and was not rushed.
Good food. Good service. Would go back
This restaurant has been around for so long with good reason. The food is consistently good and the service excellent.
Always enjoy coming back here when in the area. Good Italian food with nice wine selection. Service is always friendly and well done. Recommend it highly.
Food and service was great!
Overall experience was great. Tables were not as appealing as the past with bland paper covers and no candles etc to set the mood. It was much better before with cloth table covers and candles. Food and service were still great.
Service was excellent as was the food. Aubrey was a tremendous server.
I have enjoyed this restaurant for many, many years. I have always had a great experience and highly recommend Casa Rustica for excellent food and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Great food, service, and atmosphere!
I felt like it was a little too dim although quite quaint. Also, we did not get adequate napkins. They were more like drink napkins. Should have used cloth or at least a quality napkin. I thought that I heard there was a 10% fee for using a card as payment. If this is the case, that is ridiculous. We paid in cash but overheard the people next to us discussing it. That should have been discussed and revealed to the customer prior to the meal. The food was really good and the atmosphere was nice for a couple's night out. Price was moderate but acceptable.
